They are definitely CGI. And i think it looks pretty good. Maybe the lightning of the scenes is what makes it looking different ?

The approach to the CG this time was to try and look like the game’s graphics.

It looks gorgeous and stylized to me, though. There isn’t anything bad about it.

I remember this being brought by Soraalam1, he compared them. Not a fan of the style change at all, the style of past CG just looked better.
