Laptop or no laptop??

ok so some of you know that I am a Computer Science and engineering major and since I am there is a lot of homework and projects that need to me done on the computer. So my newest Idea was to save up some money and buy a laptop for me to bring to the library or around so I am not confined to my room to do which later on will be all of my homework. I dont really plan on buying anything fancy and I spoke with one of my cousins who said he could get be a pretty good one from 500$-700$ so I want to know what everyone thinks. Should I get one or shouldn't I. If you have one tell me what you think about it.

Actually, there are alot of people who have had the same idea.. even me. I bought my laptop for my Computer Science classes, and to take notes in some other classes. Even my little nephew bought himself a laptop for highschool. ^.^

It's worth it, if you have enough 'power' to last throughout your courses or other stuff..
That's why I have dual batteries. ^.^
