Chapter Twenty-one:

“What the?”

“Don’t be in a hurry to die.” said a voice. ”There’s a lot of things you have to do before you end dead.”

A portal appeared where a woman, with shoulder length, ebony-black hair, stepped out. The woman also wore a blindfold, diagonally tied covering only her right eye. Her outfit, a black trench cloak, had a similar appearance to Draix’s outfit. She held a hand gun, metallic blue in color, lined with silver, and looked at Rue, still alive.

“You were lucky that I managed to hit him before he had done it to you.” she spoke, pointing at Draix, heavily gasping for air, fallen on the ground. A wound found at his chest.

The woman looked at Rue impatiently folding her arms, “Hey, are ya still alive there?”

“Huh?” Rue shook his head, thinking back into reality. He wiped sweat off his face, just then realizing what had just happened. He noticed the woman standing right behind him. “Who the heck are you?” he asked immediately.

“… First of all, talk with respect you ingrate. And second… knowing that ditsy Likke-girl, she might have mentioned me to you guys.”

Rue began scratching his head, trying to recall anything Likke might have said. Rue thought hard then remembered one sentence.

“Only two, but I wasn’t alone. Triggerhappy came by again.”

“Wait a sec… you’re Triggerhappy, aren’t you?”

Triggerhappy replied with a simple nod. She turned her attention to Roxas and the others. Sora, after a while, regained consciousness, slightly limping from side to side. Roxas fully regained his strength, being able to stand straight without using the oathkeeper as a stand. Triggerhappy passed Rue, looking down at Draix. Her gun aimed straight at him, her finger positioned at the trigger and gave a click.

“Hey stop that!” shouted Rue. “You can’t kill him!”

“Oh… so you want him to live and fight back is that it?” she snapped. “Are you an idiot?!”

Her answer irritated Rue. “Yeah he’s our enemy but... don’t you think it’s heartless of you to do so?”

Meanwhile…

“Giving up so soon? I can’t believe those two lost to a mere amateur.” Fargus chuckled, watching Likke pant heavily. Sweat dripped down her flushed face, her hands trembled.

Fargus’ last attack

“Winning this fight’s easier said than done.” Likke thought, almost out of breath. “This guy’s beyond human. I’ve been attacking him with everything I got but… not good enough.”

“A miracle… I just hope one shows right now.” she prayed. Then, a beam of light shot out of the blue throwing Fargus against a wall. It didn’t do much but it did cause him to black out… but not for long.

Azura jumped into the scene, shaking Likke hastily. “Likke! Let’s get owt of hew.”

Likke was in a slight trance. Azura’s squeaky, little voice couldn’t reach her. A faint, gentle voice echoed inside her, “Likke… get up. Run… run away.”

“Wh-what?” Likke slapped herself to wake up. She felt Azura’s attempts to make her get away and saw Fargus starting to shrug, moaning quietly.

“Likke! We haff to escape!” Azura continued to plea. “Come own!!”

”Ah ok!” Likke lifted Azura and began to run. Whoever shot that beam wanted them to live, she thought. Her eyes focused straight, running with what strength remained from her fight.

When Likke and Azura were a safe distance far away, mist gathered in front of Fargus. It slowly took human form: a woman. Likke’s mother, Lyanne, showed herself again with determination in her eyes- determination not to let Fargus to come near Likke.

“I… won’t let you…” she uttered faintly.

“Uhg… you.” He responded, staring at Lyanne. ”You were responsible for that beam of light.”

“I won’t let you… harm my daughter …anymore!!”

*~*~*

Likke and Azura kept on running wherever her feet would take her. After what seemed hours of running, they stopped to catch breath.

“Huff… huff… I think we’re safe.” Likke panted, sweating buckets.

“Bawely…” Azura replied. “What do you think was that beam of light?”

“I dunno… but whoever did it… really saved us.”

Azura wanted to add something but a loud screeching noise echoed, interrupting him. Likke shot up, familiarizing the sound. A gunshot and a real powerful one. Several shouts ringed afterwards, belonging to Sora and Riku.

~*~*~

Sitting by herself, Antique hummed while holding one of her dolls. The doll, a girl with long silver hair, with braids running down, was her favorite. It rested on her lap like a child.

“Heh… back so soon?”

Fargus walked in disappointed. His axe dragged on the floor, leaving deep depressions.

“Wow… it’s so nice of you to deface the floor like that.” Antique remarked, stroking the doll’s hair. “You should do it more often.”

“… Haha very funny.” Fargus sat down nearby, trying to relax. “The little knight was lucky this time. If that woman never showed up and ruined my chance, she would-”

“Have died by your hands?” Antique added. ”Heh… everybody’s saying that now. It’s getting old. Can’t you be original?”

Fargus didn’t reply and kept silent. Talking with Antique, the cold-hearted controller, wasn’t really his ‘thing’. Trying to concentrate, he got lost in thought. To pass time, Antique snapped her fingers summoning a white portal. The portal revealed the events back at the Mystdian castle.

“What are you dong?” Fargus’ attention shifted to the portal.

Antique glanced at him, then faced toward the portal.

“Oh, just checking to see if my spy got the trust of the brat, that’s all.”
