~- Getting Restless -~

Jason leaned back in the chair, watching Christa and Eric as the two bickered about what to do. Looking up at the ceiling, the teen exhaled in exasperation, he could understand their boredom but did they have to fight? He looked at the table where he had his feet propped up on the table, examining for the tenth time in that past ten minutes. Looking over to the clock, he saw that it was close to nine o'clock at night, a little fact that surprised him considering it hadn't seemed to be that long since Demona had cleared out of the room. "I swear Eric, I'm going to hit you!"

"As if you will!"

Rubbing his forehead, he looked at his two friends and snapped, "Shut up, the both of you!" He watched them flinch, startled by his outburst as they glanced at him sheepishly, something he was still taken aback when he caused his comrades to cringe away from him. Jason stood up, intimidating them even more as he towered over them. He was the tallest out of them, and while lean, the only ones to surpass him in strength was Dante and Lucas (but that's only when Lucas took the gloves off and fought for real). "Look, you two can either help me relieve this boredom or you two can continue bickering like a bunch of fools." He snarled, uncharacteristically irritated at being trapped at the hideout.

Jace held out his hand, a bolt of lightning jumped from it and knocked over the drink that Dante had set on the corner. A smile spreading across his face as some of his annoyance left, Jason continued to fling lightning bolts at random things before he turned and walked out of the room. He heard the rush of water that Christa used in an attempt to quench the fire that he had unintentionally started. Jason ignored the sound of Eric scrambling after him, only for Christa to with the scrambling a moment later.

"Jason, come on, slow down! You know me and Eric can't keep up when you get like this!"

Jace didn't pay Christa no mind, the only thing that made him slow was when the cry of a hawk. He turned to the window and pushed it open, it was only a moment before Jezebel came flying in, landing on his left shoulder. Reaching his hand up, he stroked her feathers before he continued his way down the hall, flinging one bolt of lighting after another; leaving fresh gouges in the wood paneling. He knew that he was being unreasonable, but with everything he damaged, it made Jace feel better.

After several minutes of throwing random spells, Jace paused and looked at his handy work in the lobby. "Oops, apparently I lost control." He said sarcastically, admiring the destruction a little bit longer only to catch Christa shuffling from one foot to the other. Turning his attention to his colleague, he saw the nervous look in her eyes as the girl suggested, "How about we head out for a bit?"

"Are you insane Christa?"

Jace shot Eric a dark look for the reprimand, he returned his attention to Christa as he agreed, "Yeah, I am still irritated and I'd much rather not be here when the others get back. Come on, let's haul tail down the street to the local nightclub." Without waiting for a response, Jace walked out the door, fully intending to enjoy the rest of his night with or without any of his coworkers.

~- Feel the Danger in the Air -~

Nightshade smirked as she saw she got the new Reaper's attention, even with his retort about her being the one who was going out on a limb and trusting him. This man wasn't easily fazed, she could tell that, and that fact alone had her on edge. She was even more on edge when he mentioned they should really get looking for his friend, something about it made her feel threatened. Sneaking a look toward Demona, the tigress turned to start leading the way when Danu halted them and summoned another nightmare to aid in the search.

Blinking her eyes slowly in greeting, the tigress watched as Sabor leapt forward and sniffed at the boy to get a good group on who she was tracking. Sitting back on her hunches as she watched, Nightshade tracked the leopard took off at the girl. Standing back up after Danu had finished speaking, Nightshade tossed to the Gothic dressed boy, "Lady Danu speaks the truth, you best get a move on." Before she too ran after Sabor, catching up to the other big cat with relative ease, Nightshade spoke casually, "What do you make of this boy?"

Mentally reaching out, she felt for Demona and noticed the girl racing after them with all the grace of a feline. A small smile coming to her eyes, she cautioned mentally, Do not overwork yourself, my friend.

The warm laughter that answered her at the caution helped to lightened Nightshade's spirit as the girl answered, Don't worry about Shade, I'll be fine, just take me to where this thunder mage friend of the newcomer is. Even though Nightshade was still unsure, she acknowledged the human girl's request before she returned her attention to Sabor who was escorting the trio to their destination.

~- Will to Survive -~

Two Days Later

Samara was wandering the streets once more, trying to find what had called to this part of town. It was fifteen minutes before midnight, she stalked through the streets, enjoying the smell of the night and the feel of her feline skin. It had been a while since she had last shifted form, so just having the sensation to move through the streets in her feline form was enough to make the spirit smile. She knew that a stroll this late was probably not a good idea, but she didn't have much choice. Samara was just happy that Sammy was kind enough to let her stay with him and Michael, giving her a place to crash until they found out if Alex was okay.

I wonder how she's doing, Siam thought, continuing on her path down the street, she paused again as the smell of fish reached her nose. A smile coming to her eyes, the feline jumped over the counter. Pawing at the rusted lock, it didn't take too much effort for her to break it. Grabbing one of the bigger fish, she slipped under the counter and watched as stray cats drifted in and out, taking fish as they pleased. Looking down at her own catch, Siam smiled slightly before she willed herself to shift back to her human form.

Shifting how she was sitting, she pulled her knees up so they were level with her chest before she wrapped her arms around her legs. Resting her head on her knee, she watched as the cats continued raiding the storage unit. She wasn't sure how long she sat there memorized, but next thing she knew, someone reached underneath the counter and grabbed her by the scruff of her neck. Snarling a little, she let them haul her out from underneath, ready to claw their eyes out only to she came to face with the boy.

She felt the familiar tingle as she stared at him, the one of a potential partner. Siam blinked a couple of times, trying to take in what she was seeing. "Didn't realize their was a anime convention in town," the boy said as he let go of her neck.

"What's an anime convention?" She asked, cocking her head to the side as she looked at him, confused clear in her eyes. The boy seemed nice enough, but it didn't mean she'd drop her guard right away against this guy. "Whatever this anime convention is, I'm not a part of it. Who are you? Are you a Tamer? A Reaper? You feel like one of the Tamers." She blurted, only for a second later for her to kick herself mentally. Curling her hands in the cloth of her skirt, she continued eyeing the boy, waiting for his answers.

"We must get her to a Healing Center! You DO have a Healing Center, Sam?"

Sam was having a hard time trying to think. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear his vision as it kept blurring in and out. What was Leo talking about? A hospital? "Right, and how do we explain that one? 'Hey, we were just in a huge fight with some demons that aren't visible to normal people, only us, cause we're special like that, and one of them mauled our friend bad enough that she has some serious blood loss going on?'" Sam asked the lion, a bite creeping into his words that he hadn't intended. A headache pounded behind his right eye, causing the light to throb in time to the pulsing pain.

Sam shook his head, wincing as it caused the pain to flare brighter. Crap, he hadn't noticed the crack to his skull for a while cause he'd been soaking up earth magic when he'd been outside, but now that he was back inside and the adrenaline from the fight had worn off, the pain had come surging back, reminding him in quite an abrasive way that he'd let a low level Nightmare give him one hell of a pounding. It might have been a bear, yeah, fine, but it had taken on the form of small grizzly, practically a cub, and it hadn't found its Reaper partner yet. It was weak, especially when compared with the bear Sammy usually had to go up against, Mor'du himself.

Come on, focus Sam. Blinking rapidly again, the Tamer tried to inject an apology into his voice as he said, "We could try taking her to Sky and Devon's mom; she's one of the best Healers I know, and she could make sure Alex was okay while she was recovering. But what if she needs more help than their mom can give her? There's also their uncle; he's a doctor, but he knows enough about the war because of those two that we could trust him... or..."

"Sam, stop talking and take a deep breath. You sound like a blithering idiot."

Sammy's head snapped up, a move he regretted as another knife sliced through his eyes. Past Leo, past the fact that that other girl was no where to be found, and Sammy was only just noticing that fact, the young man saw Michael walking toward him, Devon, Sky, and a small crowd of Spirits trailing behind him. Reaching Sam, Alex, and Leo, Michael knelt down and looked the girl over for a moment. While the blond did this, Sammy took a moment to do as Michael advised, trying to get his scattered thoughts in order. Needless to say, Sam kinda failed that one spectacularly.

In that brief moment, though, Michael seemed to get the information he wanted. Finally turning his attention to Sam, Michael said quickly, "I have an acquaintance that should be able to help out. Normally, I'd take her to see Hunter, too, but Damhan is a good healer in his own right, and may be better suited to what we need right now. I want him to take a quick look at you, too. You've got a hell of a concussion, Sam, so we'll forgive the idiocy you're showing at the moment."

"Yes, sir, Dr. Guile, sir," Sam snarked, but he kept it in check. Sky might be the medic in their little group, but Michael did have a lot more medical knowledge than the rest of them because he was studying to be a doctor. But even with that superior knowledge, he had tells of his own, and Sam saw how pale Michael looked. His voice taking on a sharper quality, Sam asked, "What happened to you? You're not having any problems, are you? We can't have you out of commission too."

Michael threw Sam a grin as he said, "Had a bit of a run in with the Reapers, then I had to get here in a hurry, so I might have borrowed a little more of Chey's power than I should have. But I'm fine, you don't need to worry. Hey, Dev, can you get Alex? I want to get her somewhere to get checked out. Then we need to get stories, reports, details, and all that jazz out of the way. Come on, peeps, we don't have all day!"

Devon came over and picked Alex up carefully, leaving Michael free to help Sammy to his feet. Noct slid up on Sammy's right side, the lion's eyes showing that his mind was somewhere far off. Sam let Noct keep his peace for now; there'd be plenty enough time to get things sorted out in the next couple of days. For now, Michael was right, they had to get out of here. Sam took one last look around the destroyed class room, a pained grimace on his face from both the mess and his head. Heaving a sigh, Sam said, "Okay, gang, lets go."

And they left.

~- Hey Sister -~

~ 3 Days Later ~

Largo stretched, his tail curling high over his head as he yawned. Blinking bright green eyes, the Toyger jumped off of Devon's bed, leaving the still sleeping teen behind while the cat slipped from the room and down the hall.

Entering the kitchen, Largo saw that Sky was already up, her right hand holding the pencil as she scratched away, quietly doing her homework. Blinking sleep from his eyes, Largo walked towards his water dish, unwilling to talk at the moment, even as Sky looked over at him with a smile on her face as she said, "Morning, Largo. Is Dev still asleep?"

Bending over the dish, the cat started drinking, coming awake by slow degrees as the cool water slid down his throat. The soft sound of footsteps tickled his ears, but Largo didn't pay much attention, the water and convincing his still sleeping brain to wake up higher on his priorities list than seeing which of the other residents of the house had come into the kitchen.

"Sky, you're up early. How'd you sleep last night, honey?"

"Morning mom. Fine, thanks. They're still cleaning up the school after the Nightmares made a mess of things, so I thought I'd use some of the time to get ahead on some of my work before Dev and I headed over to Sam's place. Michael called me a little while ago to say Alex had woken up for a bit and that Sam's concussion is doing loads better, so we were going to discuss what we were doing next. Are you gonna come with us?"

His morning thirst finally satisfied, Largo turned to see that Sky was now sitting at the table with her mother. At the doorway, he could just see that River was watching the two women at the table, the Australian Shepherd's bright blue eyes intent, but also calm as she watched the two Tamers.

Sky and Devon Hunter were Legacies, either born or adopted into a family of Tamers. Watching the girls, Largo was amazed all over again by how alike they looked. Sky and Leyla both had the same body build, the same mass of strawberry blond hair that would either form soft waves when cut short or tight ringlets after it had reached a certain length. Leyla was taller than Sky, and the older women had bright, deep green eyes. It was here that Sky showed the most difference from her mother. Sky had the Hunter eyes, a crystal blue laced through with violet, eyes that she shared with her father.

Leyla shook her head, her eyes unreadable as she said, "No, I'm not. Your father and I will take this patrol while you meet with your friends. If anything seems out of the ordinary, we'll call you kids. Otherwise, just let us know what's going on after the meeting's over. Or if it's something you think we should know before hand, have Largo contact River or Nimbus, and they'll let us know. Okay, sweetie?"

"Okay," Sky said, nodding her agreement. Both of them turned as the stairs creaked, announcing Devon's arrival. Stifling a yawn, Devon nodded a good morning to Leyla as Sky quickly gathered up her homework and placed it in her backpack. Jumping out of her seat, she waited a moment while Devon grabbed a bottle of orange juice from the fridge. Largo wandered over, hanging back a moment while the two siblings gave Leyla a quick hug, then he slipped out the door after Sky and Devon. Once outside, Largo eased from his house cat to his big cat form, on full alert now that they were outside of the wards. All three of them awake, they headed out to meet up with the rest of the gang.

~- Let the Music Play -~

The pulse of the bass could be felt from a block away. Natasha felt it up her legs, a steady, throbbing beat that traveled until it resonated in her chest, filling her head with its powerful, all encompassing thumping rhythm. A grin spread across her face, filling her amber eyes with a fiercely wild light. She'd been waiting for this moment all week.

Time to dance.

Somehow, she felt her phone buzz in her pocket, despite how heavy the bass was. Fishing it out of her jeans, she saw it was a text from Leah. All's quiet here, or as quiet as it gets, lol. U b here soon, Nat? Harm's gttng antsy. 2 mny guys httng on her 4 her taste.

Nat's fingers were already flying, her feet picking up the pace as she sent back. Things r good for me, 2. B there ASAP; save some floor 4 me! ;)

Tucking her phone away, Nat said, "Hey, you still hanging around, Ally? Ebony and Esme are at the club with Leah and Harm, right?"

"Of course they are," the doe answered, her long legs picking their way delicately over the pavement. Allegra wasn't Natasha's partner, but the two of them worked together well enough. Until they found their partners, they worked together pretty well, relying on the other girls and their Spirit partners when things got a little too hairy for a Spirit and Tamer that were Unbonded.

Nat smiled again just as they came to the back of the club. Turning to face Allegra, Nat swept a strand of dark brown hair from her face as she said, "Okay, then track them down and keep an eye on the outside of the club. If you guys see any undesirables, whether Reapers, Nightmares, or sleazy guys that have no business being around here, give us a buzz, 'kay girl?"

The Spirit bowed her head, her deep brown eyes already on the alert as she said, "Of course, Nat. Do you really have to say anything?"

"Never hurts. Later girl!" Giving a quick wave to the Spirit, Nat headed inside, determined to forget about this crazy war for at least a few hours.

~- I Was Thinking Bout You -~

~ October 24th, 1774~

"Please, Em, be careful!"

Emelia laughed, sucking in a deep breath of the crisp air. Looking down, she saw Choir sitting below her, the wolf cast in alternating patches of light and shadow from the sunlight filtering through the leaves and branches of the apple trees. Carefully, the girl turned her attention upward and climbed another rung on the ladder, reaching high overhead to pluck another apple. Her family was hosting a party tonight, and while the last of the pies were cooling, they still needed apples for the games. Em, desiring a break from the preparations and the hustle and bustle of the house, had volunteered to go into the orchard to find the perfect apples. And they had to be
perfect; he was going to be at the party as well, and she wanted to participate in the apple bobbing with him!

"Emelia Anneth Kenway, please come down; that ladder isn't against the tree correctly. You could get hurt!"

"I could get hurt everyday, Choir!" Em called down to her, her eyes still trained on the apple. "Papa feels we're at danger of going to war with the Crown, and you and I are involved in a completely different War, although it's possible that there will be both Tamers and Reapers in the war with the Crown if it comes down to that. There's threats from every direction; how could a little fall compare...?"

It was right at that moment that the ladder slipped out from under Em. The girl's fingers automatically grabbed for the branch over her head, causing her to dangle high over the ground as Choir gave a spooked bark from below. Em's heart pounded hard against her throat, and she tried to take a few deep breaths to steady her nerves. That had been
much too close a call! She sucked in another breath, her arms trembling. She couldn't hang here all day, she knew that. But if she could calm herself just a small fraction more, she could get down the tree, no problem.

The tree seemed to have other ideas, though. Growing tired of the girl hanging from its branch, the tree dropped them both, a loud crack the only warning as the fairly small branch gave way. A soft squeak forced its way past Emelia's lips, but she didn't have any time for more or any sort of thought as she fell toward the ground.

"I've got you!"

Em was jolted as someone caught her, though not as much as she would have been if she'd hit the ground. Catching her breath, she turned to look at her benefactor, words of gratitude at the ready. However, she saw bright blue eyes looking down at her from beneath a familiar tricorn, and the words died on her lips as a deep crimson stain flooded her cheeks. Oh, just let her die now, please!

Seeming to sense her distress, the young man affected an air of injury as he said, "What, no thank-you? I'm wounded, Miss Kenway, positively destroyed!"

She found her voice then, just as he seemed to know she would. Thumping him on the chest, Emelia chastised, "Thank-you, David. You saved me from quite the bruising. Now please, put me down!" She was all too aware that she was wearing breeches; while much more practical for climbing ladders and picking apples, the thin, form fitting material allowed the heat from his arms to seep through to her skin far too easily.

A soft chuckle sounded in his chest, but David let her slide to her feet, his voice warm as he said, "For you, Anne, anything. Though I must say, while you do look very fetching in trousers, I do hope you intend to wear one of those dresses you women seem to be so fond of at the party tonight. It would certainly be the best way to keep those other girls from twittering like a flock of geese."

Her face flushed deeper, mortification from him seeing her in such immodest garb and pleasure from the compliment warring with each other. And he'd called her Anne, which caused her stomach to flutter; David was the only one to ever call her Anne. Out of the corner of her eye, the young woman could see that Noct and Choir were speaking in hushed tones, Noct's eyes lit bright as he told the she-wolf some sort of quip.

Emelia turned her attention back to David, and she felt the touch of those blue eyes as they skimmed over her. As much as she enjoyed his gaze, she still had to think. Raising her hand, she rested it against his chest for a moment, regret seeping into her voice as she said, "You need to leave, David. Papa may get angry if he sees you with me without my chaperon. I will be seeing you at the party tonight though, yes?"

Plucking her hand from his chest, David placed a soft kiss against her skin, sending shivers up Em's spine at the momentary heat of his lips. Holding up the apple that had caused her to tumble in the first place, David said softly, "I wouldn't miss it for the world. I'll see you then, dear Anne. Come Noct, we need to go."

And then the two of them were gone.

~- Great Wolf -~

Mor'du and Sonnet had reached the heart of Central Park when Sonnet stopped in her tracks, holding her right hind leg far above the ground. Before the bear could make a move to assist the she-wolf, though, a young woman emerged from the trees, her hair held back by a headband and her stride purposeful.

Reaching the two Nightmares, the girl knelt at the side of Sonnet, her fingers of her left hand already reaching out with a gentleness that spoke of practice. Carefully, she felt around Sonnet's hip where the artificial limb connected to the living flesh of the wolf's body, gently probing the area. A soft hiss escaped Sonnet at a particular spot, and the woman's examination paused. Lightly, she ran her fingers over the area again, this time drawing a soft whimper from the wolf. As she'd expected, the mist of the morning had settled into the limb, aggravating the old injury. Her voice low, she chastised softly, "Mor'du could have managed by himself. Why did you go with him, Sonnet?"

The woman didn't give Sonnet time to respond. A soft white light surrounding her hand, she placed her fingers on Sonnet's leg. A light, warm breeze swirled around them for a moment before seeming to be drawn to the injury, and the wind worked its way into the limb as the girl sang softly under her breath.

Shailoh Shailoh, yatreet ka...
Shailoh shna.. otvit ka...
Hahla Hahla.. ahlah hah....
Shailoh washnee

Sonnet sighed, and the young woman knew it was because the pain had dissipated. The wolf chose to lie down for a moment, her sides moving in an even rhythm as the Reaper slowly stroked her, from nose to hip and back again. Her attention on her partner, the Reaper said softly, "Well?"

"Leo hasn't lost his touch, that much is certain." Mor'du's voice was a deep growl, yet somehow it was also softer than what one would expect from his size and appearance. The Reaper nodded her head, listening as he continued, "The Jungle King has already found his partner, and Leo seems to have fallen back into tandem with Nocturne. Many of their Spirits are young, perhaps fifty to a hundred years old at most, but they have Leo and Noct to back them with experience, and they doubtless have even older Spirits on their side than just those two."

Most of this wasn't new information. Even with her own inexperience, the Reaper wasn't concerned. Sonnet was as old as the two lion Spirits, and Mor'du was even older. They knew a great deal, and that knowledge helped to cover the gaps in their own team as their Reapers and Nightmares grew in experience. She already knew that something troubled Sonnet, but the Reaper would wait until the wolf was ready to speak of it. The girl could be patient.

"Delilah."

Delilah looked at Mor'du again, her deep green eyes narrowed against the sun. His voice was soft, but she knew what he was thinking. Rising to her feet, Delilah waited until Sonnet had climbed back to her own before she said, "Very well. The message has been delivered. Now it's just a matter of waiting to see what the Tamers will do about it. Come, friends, we should head back and wait for the others to return. Lady Danu and Lucas left a while ago because of something that Angela reported on, so things will be quiet for a little. I may be able to massage the stiffness from your leg, Sonnet."

The wolf nodded, and the three of them vanished into the shadows of the trees.

~♦~♥Weaving A Dress With Crimson Echoes♥~♦~

As the three girls enjoyed their brief night of relaxation from the unfair reality that took away their normal lives, and replaced it with the life of a endless battle a sudden diming of the lights though already fairly dimmed caught everyone's attention as did the sudden disappearance of the rhythmic beat causing many to start complaining. Yet a sudden silence fell before everyone as the current that use to hold the clubs band days for the first time in seven years started to open up as a seventeen year old boy with ruffled jet black hair was revealed with semi tanned flesh with a face suggesting he was Italian walked toward a lone mic stand with a v shaped guitar slung onto his body. He gave a gentle grin as the audience found themselves confused by the mystifying male with black jeans and a v shaped vest over a scuffed dark blue shirt. A lightly tap on the microphone proved it was on as it project a small hum all the way around the dance floor, and tables. Then without warning he started to jump life into the silent dance floor as his fingers dances about the guitar blaring up a demonical delectable song. His face slowly leaned into the mic as his single pierced lips parted with a unquenchable to move releasing a even more hypnotic voice.

(CLICK THE MASSIVE SIZED LINK CLICK NOW)
"I've gotten another confession to make. So complicated, let me try to explain," the once confused dance floor suddenly jumped to life as people reacted in liking to the males voice, and song as he seemed to drag them all into a sudden dance frenzy. As the dancing continued on the male started to move to the beat he was laying out. He looked all about the floor until for a brief moment his mystifying emerald eyes landed on the wildfire amber eyes of Natasha's not to far away he gave a her a small smile before returning to the song.

"Don't want this feeling to go away. So it stays, it stays, it stays...," he started to get more wild in his movement as he now seemed to have gained a new inspiration to up his act further. His eyes returned to the table the girls sat at as he closed his eyes with a pursed up feeling for all around him.

"... Its gotta be the way you taste, you taste, you taste," on the dance floor not to far away was a new face a girl with short snow white hair that was catching the eye of many a guy, and a few girls as she kept in almost perfect harmony with the beats moving every part of her body as she seemed to be heading toward a goal. She slipped past any guy who tried to advance on her by snaking away her hands dancing everywhere as if a snake being controlled by the soothing sound of the music. Her bodily movements were like a belly dancer with years of experiences as she seemed to never once touch anyone as she danced around getting closer and closer to the trio... the more insane part was once one was close enough they could see her eyes were closed the entire time. Her eyelashes were in pristine condition blackened, and lengthen in a look most girls would kill for, her cheeks were flushed, her body glistened in pure perfection untainted beauty. Her hands were covered in detachable sleeves that had a swirling purple and black lines matching her knee high socks the led up to her midlength dark yellow skirt that hide a pair of short black pants that were revealed every time she twirled. Her shirt was in a design of silk laced light purple that had no arms.

"First impressions are hard to erase. Etched in my mind and it just wont go away," the singers eyes opened back up in almost perfect sync with the girl as she revealed a exquisite set of aquamarine eyes. "Is it the way that you feel against my body," the girl was now in full view with few people left blocking her in front of the trio as she started to curve against a few people giving most a now wanting desire. "Is it the way that you act so damn naughty," she smiled as she was finally able to get a full view of the girls as if she had found something to keep her entertained as her body started to shake as if in pure joy as she moved forward even faster twirling, and dancing past people. "Is it the way that you shack when your hips move to the bass, the bass, the bass, the bass," the singer, and dancer were now in amazing sync in song and dance as the girls speed seemed to be determined by the speed of the song. "I FEEL SO ALIVE," The singer went into full guitarist mode as he wailed on his instrument as the girl suddenly leaped grasping onto the pole in front of their table as she dance about her arms snaking up it as her leg gave momentum to keep her spinning.

"Your such a gorgeous nightmare," Without warning the girls right foot slammed into the table halting her movement as she slowly slid down the pull keeping eye contact with however seemed to be the stronger of the group. She gave a seductive smile as a sudden flare of... her reaper scent was suddenly revealed to all three girls at once like a sudden smack to the face. A sudden tingle of what looked to be electricity escaped her breath as what happened next would only symbolized a ruined night with a single moment a suddenly flashed reveal thousands of strange very thing like strings attached at her finger tips now secured well wrapped around the pole. What happened next was signaled by the singers final note at the songs end
as a massive electrical force was released from the girls body, and quickly traveled up the pull and onto the strings and right for... ever one else where the strings were attached to them... there was no screams just the sounds of falling bodies as everyone besides the four girls, and the singer were knocked out cold. The singer then let out a soft unapproving sigh. "Was that really necessary Rika?"

"Heh what can I say I like to make a entrance," she giggled softly as if she had done nothing wrong turning to the singer who whether or not was a reaper was till unknown, and couldn't be felt. "Soooo~ ladies mind if I ask you a little question?"

"Whats a anime convention."

"...," Rizan matched the girls confused look as he started to wonder what the heck he was dealing with at the moment. He then shook his head considering not everyone knew everything so maybe she was a sheltered girl... right a sheltered girl dressed up like a teen rebelling against her parents... that made sense... perfect sense. He ruffled his hair a bit as he was suddenly bombarded by questions as if he was a tamer or reaper? He gave her a raised eyebrow clearly not understanding at all her question.

"Uhhhh I am not wielding a scythe so no I am not a reaper... I don't tame anything so I guess I am not a tamer either," he chuckled shrugging off the strange question from the even stranger acting girl. With a tilted head of his own he stood up dusting himself off offering a arm to help the girl up.

"What I am is Rizan nice to meet you... so do you need a place to sleep for the night while you do... whatever your rebelling to stay away from home? Possibly I could at least offer you a meal that's actually cooked rather then... what you seemed ready to eat," he said eyeing the fish now in the girls lap not a hundred percent sure if she was really about to eat a fish fully intake.

~Today~

Leo stretched, his tail sticking out as he yawned then gave out a great sigh coming from his mouth. Blinking his blue eyes, he turned his head to the bed where his new friend and partner Alex was resting. He marveled at the fact that the good doctor was able to patch her up, despite having to undergo surgery to close the wound that was caused by the Nightmare Wolves three days ago.

Gazing at Alex's right side, over twenty stitches were required to close the gap to prevent any blood loss and covered up in white bandages that went around her waist. Sighing, Leo slipped out of the room and turned left, walking out of the exit door to heed nature's call. As he did so, his mind wandered away on the subject of meeting everybody to discuss the next plan.

He knew he would have to teach the newest recruits the basics starting off the history of the First War between Tamers and Reapers then from there, the start of using the power of Spirit Evolution, and so on and on. Letting out a sigh of relief, Leo made his way back in the Healing Center that lay outside the city and almost close to the edge of the forest itself.

Once inside, he looked around, seeing many rooms including the kitchen on the left which he did go to. As soon as he turned to his right, he nearly ran to his water bowl and lapped the cool water away, his throat glad. He nearly lost himself into his own world when he heard the skittering behind him and the tug of his tail being pulled from behind. With a loud yelp coming out, he quickly turned around and attempted to kill whatever it was that frightened him but stopped when he realized it was Utorem.

Letting out a growl yet a small hint of amusement, he scolded the doctor's friend. "You nearly scared me, you little one! But that was interesting to see that you haven't lost your touch in scaring a King like me," Leo chuckled, a twinkle in his eyes. Turning back to his water bowl and quenching his thirst, he went back to Alex's room turning left then right and another right before entering the open room, the number showing '202' and the patient's name on the board as well the front door.

Entering Alex's room, he checked on her and sighed, wondering when she'll wake up from this slumber. Plodding to the ground, he turned to go back to sleep and stopped when he saw a piece of paper rolled up as an scroll, a ribbon tying it and a stamp on the front, indicting it was from the Spirit Realm.

Curious, he made his way to it and using his claws, cut the ribbon away and causing the scroll to unfold, revealing the contents inside to be from the Dragon King, Lord Zuko whom Leo has befriend years ago as a youngster. Wondering what the old Dragon could possibly want from him, he read it.

~
Leo,

I know I should be able to handle this crisis alone, but I cannot. My wife is missing and I suspect it to be the works of the Reapers. Not only that, I believe she is one of the 7 Queens of Light foretold in the stories, passed down throughout generations.

Also, the Reapers is attempting to kidnap another Queen of Light in the Kingdom of Apes just outside the border that meets east of the Roaring River. Cesare and I are meeting in two days to make a sound plan to prevent it.

Please, I implore of you to come to our aid.

Signed, Zuko.
~

Shocked at the change of events so soon after leaving his kingdom to come to the Mortal Realm to check on things, Leo realized that the attack at the education center caused by the Reapers and Nightmares were meant to seek another Queen of Light.

"Oh, Hel," Leo cursed but quickly recovered himself, admonishing at the word that came out of his mouth. But his thoughts raced through his head. Remembering the history, he knew that at least 3 still reside in the Spirit realm throughout the land of Pride Lands while the rest moved to the Mortal Realm, so the Portal can be done away unless brought together for a specific reason.

Without any moment to lose, Leo quickly made his way to the office down the hall and using his mouth, grabbed another paper and rushed back to the room, only taking a quick glance at Alex to be sure she was all right and went to work. He knew the Winged-Lion would be upset, but no time to sugarcoat it. He wrote out to Noct:

~
Nocturne,

I am sorry to leave without explaining myself, but I believe the Seven Queens of Light are in danger, both mortally and spiritually.

As of now, I am on my way back to the Spirit Realm and meeting with the Dragon Lord Zuko and the Ape King, Cesare at the Roaring River to formulate a plan to protect the others.

So I ask of you a favor: I need you to go throughout the Great Four Cities and find the rest of the Queens; The Legacies will aid you in your search. Once done, ask the Queens to open up a mini-portal for the rest of the Tamers to cross over and help us. We will do the same in the proper place, which I assume you know greatly during our education as youngsters.

One more thing: It befalls you to explain everything and teach the newcomers to learn the history and the power of Spirit Evolution.

PS: Will you please give my apology to Alex? Thank you, Noct!

Signed, Leo.

~

With a deep sigh heaving out of him, Leo proceed to wrap it up and borrowing the torn ribbon to tie it up then using his paw, gently marked it with his signature pad. He picked it up with his mouth and took a long gaze at Alex then walked out, the door closing behind him.

Leo got up on his hind legs and put the scroll on the table, set in a specific spot that was meant for Noct to notice then plodded to the ground and taking a deep breath, his eyes closed then open as he ran down the hall then jumped in the air, the mini-portal opening for him and disappearing as well, him in it.

~~~
Alex woke up, her eye lids blinking in and out and slowly groaned as she looked around her environment. She was surprised to see that she was in an hospital, but it wasn't your normal hospital; the room were big enough to hold a herd of dogs, the walls blue and white. There, on the wall set a clock that showed it was in the early morning.
She glanced to her left and it showed May 21st on the calender close to the giant brown door. Realizing that she had to answer nature call, she started to move, but stiffed when she felt something wrapped around her waist. She looked down, surprised to see she was wearing a gown colored in white then slowly opened the right side of it and gasped when she stared at the stitches that was hidden by the giant bandage.
"Just the hell happened to me..?" she murmured out-loud. Suddenly, memories came crashing through her head and remembered everything, including meeting Siam and Leo. She turned her head to see if Leo was here, but sadly he wasn't and so was Siam.
Sighing, she lowered her head and wondered what happened while she was out of it, but the call was too strong so she pressed a button on her left side that would bring a nurse or even the doctor to help her. A few minutes went by and nobody responded.
Muttering to herself, she started to move, despite the pain she felt with every second but were quickly stopped when a large white spider came down on the ceiling, his eyes set on her. Fear setting her where she was, she wondered what to do: Run or kill it? Her mouth did it for her.
She screamed loud as she could.
"Ahhhhh!!!!"
~~~~~~We Are Many...~~~~~~

The scream that came from Alex could probably be heard from several rooms away, even through the thick walls of cement and steel that the entire place seemed to be made from. Though for the young woman the sight of a spider, especially one that was the size of her hand, would be more than enough to scare her senseless, what happened next was most likely something she would never have seen happen before.

The spider itself screamed back in fright. While it was clearly more a scream in surprise than actual fright, nevertheless it still seemed to cause the same action as any scream would, especially from an animal. Slithering down similar threads of silver string, there appeared possibly a dozen more spiders, all the same size and look to the one that was still facing Alex.

As if called by the sound of one of their sister's screams, the others hung from the ceiling at various heights throughout the room, all watching Alex with their bright red eyes. Only the sound of the room's door opening was enough to pry the spiders gazes away from the girl, and towards the now entering man. The large wheelchair of his quietly rolled along the highly polished floor, his hands busy and seeming to have no need for actually moving the wheels himself.

In one hand was a large clipboard, a few pages held tightly to it which the man was busy flipping through. While the other hand currently stroking the large white creature that was so far curled up in his lap. The closer he got towards Alex however, the more details seemed to become familiar for the girl as she was able to look closer at the creature, especially as it started to stand up on its multiple legs and stare at her with its large red eyes.

The spiders hanging from the ceiling was large, the thing that was tentatively gaining its balance still in the man's lap was something unbelievably massive. Identical to the small creatures, this mother spider was something even more unnerving, yet once it finally began to settle back down, its once unblinking stare turned into an almost soothing look.

"Hello, child. I do hope my children did not frighten you too much. We thought it best to watch you for any changes, until you were to wake." Said the massive mother spider, her voice caring and soft, even with her actual mouth hidden behind the large curled fangs in front.

"Yes, Utorem's replications have a habit of taking their tasks quite literally. But, it appears besides a rather surprise awakening, you're healing quite nicely." It was the older man who now spoke, the entire time which he flipped through multiple pages on the board he held, sometimes even going back and forth between specific pages as if making sure of some facts.

~~~~~~The Waiting Beasts~~~~~~
The long invisible creature could be heard slowly shimmering along Danu's arm, while she sat within the large apartment of hers, the light of a new midday in New York pouring through the windows and filling the room with its warmth. Sounds of clicking, hisses, and even screeches could just be barely heard, all of which the red haired woman seemed quite pleased with as she sipped the red liquid from a glass she was holding.
"Really? Very good news......Yes I've already been told about his return...No, you're to do nothing unless you're forced to, simply keep with your tasks......That's right, keep searching for them, I have a feeling they may show themselves finally......Don't worry, your Mother will be with you again soon."
At the end of this, four strange things seemed to happen simultaneously at four cities. A great shadow swept across the city of Chicago, and with it powerful gusts of wind flew through the city like the beating of some great creature's wings. Throughout L.A a strong rumble deep beneath the earth seemed more focused than the average tremor, moving quickly through the city before disappearing for days at a time. It was the light falling of snow around Denver that was its first sign of something wrong, it being much too early in the year for the city, yet still it came, slowly but constantly. The fog that had plagued New York only recently had probably nearly passed through most memories, that is until the next time it would come along, and again it would.
"So Rhea? what's our next move?"
I suppose we should go find the other tamers and find out what to do...
"Okay... can you find them?"
Of course! don't question my ability because since we are bonded it really means you're doubting not only me but also yourself.
"O-okay." They exchanged thoughts like this over the past few days and Renn had discovered Rhea was very firm, but also caring and willing to put up with Renn's naivety... He was intelligent and disciplined but very young and curious on top of that. The two of them got up and made their way to the door. "Aunty! I'm going out to meet with my new friends!"
She nodded and smiled when he said that."Good luck!"
Once in the streets Rhea took off, following her instincts and Renn bolted right after her and then jumped onto her back again.
Running for daylight, sleepless...
~- Playing Star Again -~
A soft click echoed in the entrance of the brownstone as the lock on the front door was slid out of the way. Opening the portal, Lucas slipped inside the apartment, soft morning light shining in momentarily before he closed the door behind him. Taking his coat off, Lucas laid it across his left arm as he started walking, the fingers of his right hand raking through his hair as he headed for the stairs, contemplating the merits of a huge, jaw cracking yawn.
"You're home kinda late. Your date go that well, then?"
Lucas turned at the voice, his pale violet eyes locking with Dante's vivid green ones. Dante had a lopsided, knowing smirk on his face; what he was thinking plain to any that cared to read even a little bit into his expression. Lucas shrugged, deciding that he'd let his friend think whatever he wanted this time around. Lucas could correct Dante's erroneous conclusion, but what did it really matter? The other man was too hot headed to listen to reason half of the time, even when he knew the true personality of those he tried to prickle. Sometimes, Lucas swore Dante just loved a bit of dirt as much as anyone else.
Tiring of Lucas' silence, Dante prompted, "So, what was the twit like?"
"The same as usual. A chatter box that didn't hold my attention much beyond the first hour. The girls either need to start finding better blind dates for me or I'm gonna have to give up on women period. There's no one to have an intelligent conversation with most of the time is what it seems."
Dante cackled, a wicked light in his eyes as he said, "Well, that sure as f.uck is one way to put it, Thorne. What's your lazy ass up to now, boss man?"
Lucas favored the strawberry blonde with a cool look for a moment before saying, "Bed. She didn't hold my interest, so I've been out on the streets patrolling and looking for a better date. The night yielded nothing to report, and no girl interesting enough to talk to. You can let Lady Danu know, if you'd like, but I know you probably won't; and she probably knows already anyway. Now, how about you move your ass out of my way, punk?"
Dante favored Lucas with a shrug of his own before slouching off, probably down to the training room; Dante has an over fondness for hitting things. Sighing, Lucas was finally able to take to the stairs and enter his room.
Closing the door behind him, Lucas took a moment to rub Twila's nose as she dozed in her bedding. The Nightmare, currently in her smaller filly form, whickered softly, a drowsy quality to the sound as she found her way up from sleep long enough to give Lucas a greeting. He let her slip back to slumber as he walked toward the private bar in his room, pouring himself a brandy before going to lean against the window. From there, he watched the sun burn away the night mist, sipping and thinking...
~- Enjoy the Ride -~
"Just chill out man, okay? I told you, my head's fine. You think he'd be so calm if it wasn't? I didn't push it too far, so let it drop already!"
Michael felt kinda bad for snapping at Sammy like that, but honestly, the blonde was getting tired of Sam's mother hen routine. Michael had lived with this shit for nine years, dammit, he knew what he could and couldn't manage! This meeting that they'd had planned for when Alex woke up? Yeah, it fell into the "Shit Michael could deal with even after borrowing some of Chey's mojo three days ago" territory.
Stuffing his hands into his pockets, Michael pulled ahead of Sam, Rio grumbling slightly as he hopped along at a faster pace at Michael's side. Relenting after a moment, Michael slowed his pace, blowing a breath out as Rio caught up to him again. Pulling his right hand out of his pocket, Michael tangled his fingers in the shepherd's fur as he apologized, "Sorry, Rio. Didn't mean to do that to you, buddy."
"I think we're all kinda used to it, Mike," Rio chuffed, a good natured tone in the sound as the canine bumped his side against the man's leg.
Michael laughed then, his irritation sliding away as easily as it had flared. "Oh, thanks a lot, mutt!"
Sammy jogged up next to the two of them then, a grin of his own on his face as he said, "Mutt's got a point though, Michael. You switch all over the place constantly, like a girl with pms."
Michael cut Sam a look that would have burned if it held more than just a mock sense of poison in the blue. "Seriously, Sam, you are two seconds away from..."
"Ahhhhh!!!!"
"The hell?!" Michael switched from his threat to complete amazement in the same breath as Sammy bolted inside the building the two of them had been walking toward. Michael had met the girl Alex a couple times, though he didn't really know her that well. However, he did know her well enough to know that was her scream, and to know that Sammy's bullshit was out the window if he had even the slightest notion that something might be wrong.
"The hell's the siren, Michael?"
"Damned if I know, Dev," Michael answered, turning to the right to greet the Hunter siblings as they walked up meet the blonde, Largo at Devon's side and Ezio circling over Sky's head.
Cheyenne came trotting up from behind, Noct on her heels. Watching as the lion went inside, the cougar commented, "We, I think Alex is awake. Now that the gang's all here, how 'bout we follow Noct and Samson inside?"
"Sounds like as good a plan as any," Michael answered, leading the small pack as they all headed in to speak with one of their newest teammates.
~- What's Inside It -~
"Hello, child. I do hope my children did not frighten you too much. We thought it best to watch you for any changes, until you were to wake."
Noct blinked, once more surprised by the old man's partner being a spider. Utorem always surprised Noct to some extent, even though he knew the Spirit to be quite wise and benevolent. Despite her appearance being one that could induce nightmares, the arachnid Spirit was one of the kindest, motherly creatures he'd ever known.
"Yes, Utorem's replications have a habit of taking their tasks quite literally. But, it appears besides a rather surprise awakening, you're healing quite nicely."
The lion watched as a look of relief passed visibly through Sammy's eyes, and the Spirit couldn't keep the smile from curling at his lips. Sam was such an open book. Walking over to Alex, Sam extended a hand to her as he said carefully, "Nice to see you up again, Alex. You feeling okay?"
"Yeah, doc. How's she doing?"
Michael's familiar voice reached Noct, and again, he could hear the underlying tone in the human's voice. Michael thought a great deal about Damhan, prompting the boy to suggest bringing Alex to the man in the first place. Noct was quite pleased to see that the Damhan was just as good as Michael had promised.
Leaving the Tamers to their discussion, Noct walked further into the apartments, easing into his Savannah form as he did so. Despite a couple of days, he found himself unable to get the confrontation at the school out of his mind. Sonnet was alive, against all odds, and allied with the Nightmares. Noct felt the guilt try crushing him again, but he forced the wave back; there'd be time enough to indulge in his feelings later. Right now, he needed to focus, find Leo, and work out a plan. Sky was still relatively new to the battle, despite her heritage; Alex and Renn were positively green.
You can't fight what's to come, Leo. No matter how hard you try.
Noct shook his head, an effort to dislodge the foreboding that proved pointless. Sighing, the lion looked up, then tilted his head to the side in puzzled confusion. On the table in front of him was a scroll of paper. With Leo's mark?
Stretching up on his hind legs, Noct knocked the missive of the table before making quick work of the ribbon tying it closed. Unrolling the paper, it only took a few moments to read the short missive.
Nocturne,
I am sorry to leave without explaining myself, but I believe the Seven Queens of Light are in danger, both mortally and spiritually.
As of now, I am on my way back to the Spirit Realm and meeting with the Dragon Lord Zuko and the Ape King, Cesare at the Roaring River to formulate a plan to protect the others.
We will do the same in the proper place, which I assume you know greatly during our education as youngsters.
One more thing: It befalls you to explain everything and teach the newcomers to learn the history and the power of Spirit Evolution.
PS: Will you please give my apology to Alex? Thank you, Noct!
Signed, Leo.
Reading it over again, Noct made sure he was understanding everything before he blew a breath out, suddenly exhausted. Looking at the paper, the cat sighed, "Just perfect..."
~- Turn the Music Up -~
"About time!"
Amalia looked up at Harmony's exclamation, a slight smile bowing her lips as she saw Natasha slipping between tables to reach them. Sliding over in the booth, Leah gave Nat the room to slip into their booth, just as one of the young waiters arrived.
"Good evening, ladies. I haven't seen you in a few weeks. How've you been?"
Nat beamed up at him, grey eyes alight as she laughed, "Hey, Rick! We've been doing good, just busy. How about yourself, hon?"
Rick smiled back at Nat before extending the smile to Harm and Leah as well. "Excellent, Nat, thanks for asking. Will it be the usual for you ladies?"
Leah nodded, soft red locks falling across her face for a moment as she said, "I think so, yes. Thanks, Rick."
Rick's green eyes sparkled as he said, "Very well. I'll be back with your drinks shortly, ladies."
Leaning over as Rick left, Leah asked Nat softly, "Well?"
Natasha shrugged, her long, dark hair sliding over her shoulder as she said, "Not a peep outta the Reapers for the last couple of days. I heard something about some kind of shindig at the high school, but all I found out was that there was some accident and the school was closed for a couple days."
Harm leaned closer as well, both to keep their conversation private and to be heard over the pulsing base. "Any intel on the partner situation?"
Nat shook her head, annoyance shining in her eyes. "Nada. This is getting old girls, and fast."
Rick returned with their drinks just then, halting the conversation. None of them were old enough for the hard stuff, but this club had options that worked for its underage clientele. The sole glass of wine went to Leah, whose birthday was next month. Not to mention she'd become good friends with the club owner, and he was treating Leah to a present a little bit early.
After the girls had accepted their drinks, Rick asked cheerfully, "Anything else, ladies?"
"Yeah," Harm said, her voice soft and brown eyes softer still, "Can you persuade the dj to put some Rihanna on? I want something to dance to!"
"No problem, Harm," Rick laughed, already turning around to tend to his task. "Have a pleasant evening, ladies!"
Leah traced her finger around the lip of her glass, her eyes watching the light gold liquid as her thoughts drifted away. How long had it been? How long would it take? Without thinking, the fingers of her right hand found their way from her glass and instead began twisting the band she wore on the ring finger of her left hand.
"Patience, Nat." Harm's voice cut through Leah's reverie, bringing her back to the club while also bringing girls' attention back to the conversation they'd been having before Rick brought them their drinks. Raising her glass, Leah took a sip of her wine as Harmony continued, "New York is huge, and we've been here what? Two, three months? We just need to have some patience. We'll find both your's and Allegra's partners. We just need to keep looking."
Natasha leaned back, kicking her feet under the table at the same time that she threw her arms over the back of their booth. Blowing out a breath, she answered, "I know, mom. But still, you'd think we'd have at least a few leads, don't you think? And how long do you think it takes to get a request to the dj? Rick's usually faster than this!"
It was about this time that the music did change, but it wasn't what Harm or Nat had had planned. Instead, a young man took the stage, performing quite admirably while a colleague of his started weaving through the club, a hypnotic quality to the way she moved. Nat and Harm turned to watch the two of them while Leah returned her attention to her drink again.
Suddenly, the dancing girl revealed herself for the Reaper she was while her partner chastised her for dropping all club patrons cold except for Natasha, Harmony, and Amalia. Harm and Nat just watched the girl for a moment, unable to say a word.
"Soooo~ ladies mind if I ask you a little question?"
Before Nat and Harm could say anything, Leah said softly, "Perhaps we have an answer. What do you want?"
Alex smiled uneasily to the spider that sat on the lap of the wheel-chaired man whom she figured to be the doctor that must had patched her up, but once Sam and the others arrived, that grin of her became huge. She took ahold of Sam's hand with one hand and used the other to sign to him, hoping she wasn't doped up to screw it all up. "Hey, Sam," she spoke to him, her eyes looking at him. "I'm doing okay; Just woke up to an unexpected surprise, that's all."
She was curious to see other people behind him, only able to recognize just a few people from school like Devon and Sky, but she felt herself almost pouting at the fact that Siam wasn't with them over Sam's shoulder. Looking back at Sam, she asked him. "Hey, Sam... Where's Siam? And Leo as well?" She signed to Sam as she shifted her weight, aware that the pain was pretty harsh to the point she let out a quiet groaning, her waist feeling little bit tight from the bandage that wrapped around her.
Letting out a low sigh of relief as she got into a better position, she smiled to the others and waved, not wanting to be totally rude and to let them know she was glad they came to see her. That's when she realized that she still hasn't gone to the restroom and knowing herself, she needed to go badly before she end up staining the sheets, so she took her hands back from Sam and pointed to Sky and the restroom, hoping they understood the message.
With Sky's help, Alex was able to get off the bed but had to wait until her sense of balance came to normal and slowly made their way to the restroom, the other girl closing the door behind them then helped Alex sit on the toilet so she could do her business. A few minutes later, she was back in her bed but more alert now and with the help of Sam doing the deed of translating her words to spoken for the others to understand what she were saying to them all.
Alex became aware of the fact that the young adult and the doctor moved out of the way to, she guessed, talk about her condition and to see what to do next. Knowing the doctor will say something to her healing, she turned back into her attention to the others but soon noticed Sammy's partner, Noct, coming in with what appeared to be an piece of paper in his mouth. She gazed into his eyes and slowly realized whatever was inside that paper can't be good for the rest of the Tamers.
"Aw, nuts.." She muttered to her self, a habit she was used to as a way to process her thoughts. She then turned her head to the window, wondering where on earth could Leo be and what had happened to Siam, not knowing Siam were becoming a partner to someone, while thinking about the strange dream/memory she had before waking up, unsure what it meant.
Sending out my soul to worlds more beautiful
~- Bag of Cats -~
"Uhhhh I am not wielding a scythe so no I am not a reaper... I don't tame anything so I guess I am not a tamer either."
"What I am is Rizan nice to meet you... so do you need a place to sleep for the night while you do... whatever your rebelling to stay away from home? Possibly I could at least offer you a meal that's actually cooked rather than... what you seemed ready to eat."
Samara couldn't help herself, she eyed Rizan warily when he offered his arm, knowing that he was just trying to be polite but it would still be dangerous. Reaching out a hand, she grabbed a hold of a piece of his arm that was clothed and pulled herself up. "Thanks, my name is Samara. And yes, a place to stay would be nice." She said carefully, a little confused by why he'd think she was rebelling against something. She followed him as he headed home, explaining along the way on what she meant about Reapers and Tamers.
"You, might not believe me, although trust me I'm not insane, but there's this war that has been going on for several years. It's hard to explain, but there are certain people, people who look human who are fighting in a secret war. You've got the potential to participate in this war, I'm sorry; I just don't know how to explain this clearly. Wait...of course. You remember the mass burning of women who were accused of being witches? Well, some of our warriors were in there, their enemies learned of it and accused them of being witches because of the fact those women, could cast magic and they had animal partners, or what some people call a witch's familiar."
She stopped and exhaled, a little frustrated that the words weren't coming. Closing her eyes for a moment to gather her thoughts, Siam opened her eyes and there was no denying, there was a definite catlike appearance to them. "Come on, let's get you home safely and then I'll take you to see someone who can explain it better in the morning."
~ Around Twelve to Fifteen Hours Later ~
Siam stretched and blinked up at Rizan, more than a tiny bit relieved that last night she'd been able to convince him, that at the least, she could choose to appear either human or feline. So, it was because of that fact, she was currently chilling out in her feline form as the two of them were walking down the street, trying to track down Sam so Rizan could fully be brought up to speed with this war.
Keeping up with Rizan, she suddenly thought about what he must be thinking and said reassuringly, "It's only people like us that can see me; otherwise I'm invisible to normal people." Explaining why it is the citizens of New York weren't freaking out about a black panther walking down the street in broad daylight. Siam stopped and looked at him again, curious to know what was on his mind and wanting to know which way he wanted to go. "Rizan, are you following what I was telling you?"
It was bitterly cold.
Scarlet felt the ropes bite into her wrists, the blood trickling up and around the ropes. She pulled away just as her captor reached out a hand to touch her, earning the blonde a full handed slap to the face. Staggering from the force, the young woman glared in defiance at the man that had struck her. Sea foam green eyes danced with rage, only for her to reign in her temper as she shivered from the chill.
She hated being out when it was this damn cold, especially when it was under her current circumstances.
Shivering again, her eyes darted from one turned away face to another. "May Scylla and Charybdis feast on your bones Yankees!" She shrieked, turning her humiliation into fury, she couldn't think of the fact she was in her shift; and that she was female in cold weather with very little to protect her.
The pirate captain exhaled in frustration, trying to think of any way to get out of her situation. She struggled as her escort roughly yanked her to the platforms where she was meant to "go". Stumbling up it, she ignored the catcalls and jeers that people were throwing, she wouldn't give them the satisfaction of knowing just how scared she was. Scarlet took her place in line, a look of disgust flashing in her eyes as her escort stepped in front of her. He reeked of brandy and she highly doubted this landlubber had taken a shower recently.
"I suggest you take my offer wench, while you still have time or face your fate of the noose."
Scarlet knew that she shouldn't, yet she still mocked, "The oceans do not dry up just because the rivers get a dam placed in their path." She saw that he didn't understand, sighing in irritation, she said coldly, "I will not give up just because you have me cornered, dumb ass."
Scarlet didn't flinch this time when she got slapped for her "insubordination", scanning the crowd again she smiled as she saw Adrian there, waiting for her signal to get her out of there. "I want this woman moved to the head of the line, now."
She turned her attention to the man that had dragged her there, a tiny jolt of fear going through her at the fact her hanging had been moved up. Composing herself, she felt the noose get put around her neck as her crimes were read. Sneaking a glance off towards the woods, she heard the hangman slip into a different language to say secretly "And for the crime of being a Reaper...."
Scarlet's attention instantly snapped to the executioner, who she immediately recognized as being a Tamer. Her eyes dilated to slits as she hissed, "You son of a bitch."
She waited until he came close to find out if she had any last words, flicking her wrist to engage the hidden blade that she was borrowing from Adrian, she smiled at him sweetly as the executioner asked bitingly, "Any last words you traitor?"
"Actuellement Mor'du!" She shouted, knowing that the Nightmare and the rest of her crew would understand that she needed help now. Head butting him, her arm shot out and buried the blade in the executioner's stomach just as Mor'du roared, scattering the crowd other than those that were brave enough to stand their ground, in other words, Tamers. Reaching a hand up, which had been set free because of the hidden blade, she tossed the noose away from her and hurried to set the other condemned criminals free.
"My blade?"
"My pistols?" She shot back, even as she worked the clasp free and tossed the hidden blade to her second in command. She smiled as Adrian tossed her the guns she requested, her smile grew even larger as she caught the two fire arms and then got to work. Her first set for victims? A couple of Tamers that were standing way too close to her. "Smile," she snarled, pulling the triggers and hitting one in the head while she got the other in the shoulder. Pulling out the dagger that she kept down the front of her shift, she hopped off the platform and stalked toward the one with the shoulder injury.
Stabbing him as soon as she reached him, she stood back up when she knew for sure the man was dead. Scarlet quickly slipped back into a routine of murder. Shoot, stab, block, counter, shoot, stab, block, counter. Slipping into a blood lust, Scarlet lost track of time as she took down one Tamer after another. Standing still for a few moments as she worked on reloading her pistols, she sensed it as someone slipped up behind her. Tensing, Scarlet almost spun around and fired the pistol she had reloaded when Jezebel whispered in her mind,
Stand down, it's an ally, just as the scent of sea breeze, chocolate and sun-warmed earth reached her nose.
"Easy there milady, I think the Tamers got your message, provided there's any Tamers left to deliver it." Adrian chuckled, even while he removed his heavy cloak and placed it on her shoulders, giving her protection against the cold. Snuggling into the warmth of it, she looked around the clearing, pondering her friend's words as she took in the carnage. Turning to look at Adrian, she sighed and stepped into his embrace, her desire for battle dying down now that she knew she and her crew were safe for the time being. She didn't have to look to know that Jezebel had landed on her shoulder; the hawk's weight was as familiar to Scarlet as her own.
"Let's go back to the
Aquila, she's bound to be worrying about her children." Scarlet sighed, suddenly exhausted by the fight since her adrenaline had worn off. Adrian nodded, wrapping his arm around her; the taller sailor escorted his captain back to the ship. Scarlet smiled a little bit, she really had to see about finding another name for her father's ship, but that could come at a later date.
"Hey, Sam. I'm doing okay; Just woke up to an unexpected surprise, that's all."
Sam laughed, his whisker tatts scrunching up as he grinned, not even thinking about it as he signed back. "Yeah, Utorem and her girls can get that kind of reaction when you first meet them, despite what Michael and Noct keep telling me about them. You get used to her, I guess. You look a heck of a lot better than you did a few days ago, so I guess the doctor worked his magic like Michael promised, too."
"Hells yeah, he did. When am I ever wrong?"
Sam turned around at Michael's voice to see the blonde leading their small team into the room. Sam watched as almost immediately Cheyenne and Largo slipped into their house cat forms while Ezio came to rest on the table next to Alex's bed; Rio, of course, maintained his place at Michael's heels, ever watchful of not only his partner, but the other kids in the room and their well being as well.
"Hey, Sam... Where's Siam? And Leo as well?"
"Not sure, Alex," Sammy signed back, only distantly paying attention as Michael relayed the question to the Hunters in case they had some idea. "I haven't seen Siam since she left the high school, but I did see Leo here last night when we came in to check on you. I wouldn't be too worried, though; Siam's a Spirit, so that means she's tough, and Leo probably isn't too far away at the moment."
Any further conversation though, was put on hold as Sky came forward to help Alex with managing the bathroom. Devon and Sammy both flushed a bit, and Sam was just about ready to knock the slight smirk off of Michael's face as Sam snapped, "Not everyone here's a doctor, Guile!"
Michael laughed softly, but things went pretty much back to normal after the girls returned, Sam of course moving to Alex's other side so he could help Sky get Alex back into bed. Sky lingered by Alex's side, her hand glowing a soft white where it rested on the injured girl's side. "For the pain," Sam signed to Alex, knowing that that would be the girl's question; "Sky's our medic, her brother Devon is the muscle, Michael hits hard and fast while messing with your coordination, and of course I'm the good looking leader; welcome to the team!"
Sammy's laughter was cut off as he gave a short, pained yelp. Michael, having understood perfectly what Sam had signed to Alex, had decided to clobber Sam a good one in the shoulder, even if it had been in jest. Rolling his eyes Micheal sent Alex a wry grin as he both signed and said, "Geez, give Sammy an inch and he takes a mile, doesn't he? But still, BS aside, welcome to the team, Alex."
Sam was about to fire back at Michael when a movement from the doorway caught his eye. Turning to see Noct with a paper rolled up in his mouth, Sammy waited for Noct to drop the missive in his hand even as he heard Alex swear softly behind him. Unrolling the note, Sam's eyes did a quick scan before he said softly, "Ah hell; your king's really gonna do this to us, Noct?"
Noct chuffed softly, letting Sam know what he thought of that comment. "Unfortunately, yes. The safety of the Queens is a very serious matter, and one that, regrettably, takes priority over teaching and training the new recruits, even his own partner."
Ruffling his hair as he rose to his feet again, Sam said, "Okay, well, first things first, is teaching Alex about that mental channel while we teach the others how to sign. Michael's not an issue; he's been signing for the last nine years, and he actually taught me. But Dev and Sky don't know much yet..."
A sharp ringing cut the air, cutting Sam off as he was trying to vocalize his list of what needed to get done. Turning around, he watched as Sky fished her phone out of her pocket, her eyes confused as she said softly, "Holly? Why's she calling?"
Quirking an eyebrow, Sam said kinda sarcastically, "No clue why you'd have family calling you, Sky; no idea at all. How 'bout you put her on speaker? She might have a little bit of intel."
Sky did just that, holding her phone out as a cheerful voice sounded from the other end. "Hey, Sky! Long time, no see, huh? Is Devon around?"
Devon laughed, "Course I am, Holly. When do I ever leave Sky to her own devices?" Michael rolled his eyes, but he kept his hands moving quickly, translating the conversation for Alex's benefit.
Holly laughed, one that was actually rather similar to Sky's, before saying, "True enough, Dev. My flight just got in, and I was hoping that I might be able to see you guys today."
That got Sam's attention, as well as Sky's. Her eyes widening, Sky blurted out, "Wait, you're here? Why, and why didn't you tell us you were coming sooner?"
"Sorry, Sky, didn't mean to break it to you like that," Holly said over the speaker. "I didn't even know I was coming in myself until a few hours ago. And as to the why of my being here? It's simple, really. You've got my partner, Sky, and I think I might have an idea as to where your's might be. So, see you in a couple hours? Don't do anything fun till I get there!"
And she hung up.
"Perhaps we have an answer. What do you want?"
"Nothing to bothering," Rika smiled in response as one of the girls spoke normally as if nothing had happened. Across the room the other possible reaper sat down on the edge of the stage watching ahead in case anything happened... though really something had. The teen shook his head in annoyance as he looked at all the unconscious people he had just performance to. "I couldn't help over hearing you talk about some skirmish over at a school. I was wondering if there was a woman their... very noticeable hair white as snow all the way down to her hips with annoyingly piercing brown eyes... oh her left hand is also garmented in armor VERY noticeable with a shield holding a sword," the girl spoke in segments, and very fast to where most of what she said probable wouldn't register to a normal person. Her friend raised a what the hell look as she continued going into detail for their missing "friend". "Then again if she was their knowing her temper tantrum self that school probably wouldn't even be standing... meh I guess it was pointless to ask... though have you seen anyone of that description? Maybe someone who has tried to kill you in the past three days since we got lost," she said with a gleaming smile as if their was nothing wrong with the conversation at all.
"... Please excuse my acquaintance she is very... hyper to say the least," the teen guitarist finally pitched in as he got onto his feet walking about the dance floor as he swiped a expensive looking bottle from a unconscious waiter who had seemed to try and protect it in a subconscious desire to see it get somewhere. He slung his guitar to his backside before seeming to change his mind and take it off completely as he left it leaning against the pole the girl Rika slowly started to slide down as she gave him a pouty face as if he had just somehow insulted her. Pulling up a chair he sat at the table popping the bottle open. "Though if you have seen any reapers with a aggressive attitude with a strong European accent any information on her possible whereabouts would be very helpful," he added as he gave the bottle a chance to breath before stealing a few glasses from another table, and filling them with the bottles contents as he handed each of the girls a glass before pouring one for himself.
"Then again if you ran into her you would be pretty well beat up or dead.... she REALLY hates Tamers heh has a bad past with your kind she does I think the boss is the only one who can even stop her once she gets a slicing... oh by the way my names Rika, and this ARTIST/Partner in crime next to me is Ician," she chuckled darkly before introducing herself and Ician to the three Tamers.
"We are not partners in crime," Ician's words seem to cute Rika deep as she let out a small "ugh" sound before looking at him with a hurt child like expression that he shrugged off immediately causing her to weep fake tear away from the table in a strange mumbling fashion. "Nor are we looking for a fight I might add. No orders from the big Mafioso, no need to start trouble for our leader," he said with a small smug expression as Rika rejoined the table with her own chair.
"Rizan, are you following what I was telling you?"
"Ya I am following... for the most part...not gonna lie its kinda weird having a actual conversation with a animal... a Panther none the less," Rizan added as he looked down at the female panther who not to long ago was a human girl with cat ears last night explaining to him a whole war that had been going on for centuries, and that he had just happened to be one such human who was apart of it, and her partner.
"Don't worry though I am sure ill get use to it... eventually," he chuckled as he petted the panther before continue to walk in the direction she was currently leading him.
"Atticus Dood! Don't you feel bad from stealing from the food court dood?"
"Not my problem Orinny. You don't think it's bad that they're making us PAY for food?" I looked at him without a care in the world as I take a ferocious bite uve' a jalapeño and cheese pretzel, having my teeth on the crust and ripping it apart as I pull it away from me. Munching away "you awnt some or ot?" Orinny over exaggeratedly crossed his arms and violently shaking his head. "No way dood! You know how many carbs there are in that thing dood?!" I let out a very sharkish smirk. "Aren't i talking to the Orca who dove head first in to that one bakery's pie section?" I started laughing as I took another bite.
Orinny defensively shy'd away as he murmured softly to him self "I lashed out..you know I have a thing for pie dood.." I laughed hysterically as I noticed that some uve' the crumbs and other messes had stained my clothes. I stood back up from the black garbage bag pile I was laying on as I tidy my self up by brushing off the the crumbs from my black jeans. I took a sniff around my body, and casually styled my hair. I said to Orinny in a innocent voice. "Hey 'Rinny?" He seemed shocked to my tone. "Yeah dood?" "You smell awful." As I walked away back out uve' our secret spot. "I stink dood?! You're the one who sleeps on Garbage bags dood!"
I stopped every muscle, and said back to him without looking. "'Rinny!" The lovable Orca replied, albeit scared to what he thinks what is about to happen.
"Hurry up, We're going clothes shopping. "
He replied excitedly and swooping and marched in the air ahead uve' me.
"HELL YEAH DOOD!"
~~~~To The Point~~~ (Present)

"Yeah, doc. How's she doing?" The sudden arrival of Michael caused Damhan’s wheelchair to turn just enough for the much older man to see the young Tamer, now standing in the doorway to the slowly filling room.

Taking this time to make some room, the white haired man slowly rolled passed Michael, Alex’s room now filling more up with the other Tamers and Spirits that seemed to keep arriving. Allowing the other Tamers to talk about the sudden departure of not only Leo, but the troubling mention of the Queens, Damhan turned to Michael just enough to let the young man show he wished to speak with him and making his way down the hallway at a pace Michael could easily keep.

Bruising on the lower section of her back, some partial cracked ribs which have healed nicely since she arrived. To have had such a first involvement with not only a group of strong Nightmares but at the same time the stress of bonding with a Partner, it’s a good sign she can still clearly see other Spirits. It’s very common for that level of stress to completely drain one’s spiritual essence. She is quite fortunate in that sense.

Rolling into a room, no more than a few doors down the metal hallway from Alex’s own, the rather large room was filled with piles of books of various shapes, sizes and ages, loose sheets of paper stuck out from the most random of places, all with some kind of writing or illustration to be found on its surface.

As if it was common to do so, Utorem moved rather quickly for her size, her many legs allowing her to swiftly move onto the large oak desk, just as Damhan motioned his wheelchair perfectly into place behind it and allowing him to now face Michael and the rest of the book filled room.

What is it you plan to do now?

~~~On The Right Trail~~~ Three Days Earlier
"What do you make of this boy?" Nothing came from the prowling black leopard for another minute after Nightshade asked this question. The Nightmare’s piercing purple eyes stared straight ahead towards the towering buildings of the city, but many Nightmares knew Sabor could see farther and much more than any other, especially when the scent she had grew stronger.
I wish to tear him apart. His scent offends me. And yet…it is somehow familiar. Mistress knows best, if she wishes for me to find this prey, I will find it.” Sabor said mentally back to Nightshade, her gaze still focused right ahead of her even as she leapt higher when need be towards the tall structures and even down into the tight alleyways of the city.
The faint sounds of a few helpless screams could be found easily by the superb hearing of the feline Nightmares, yet only one particular direction truly caught the full attention of the leopard. To the second, the Nightmare creature came to an abrupt stop on one of the city's buildings, before instinct took over and Sabor was off as if a gun was fired.
~~~Stalking From The Shadows~~~ Present

As Rizan and Siam made their way down the busy sidewalk, the low growl that escaped from the mouth of something above them would have just reached their ears, yet no physical source that belonged to it would have been there.

Just a dark shadow swiftly moving along the wall of a building before disappearing into the adjourning alleyway was all that revealed itself to the two, but it would be enough to put any Spirit on edge.

It would have brought along a feeling that none would ever forget having.

The feeling of being hunted.

Alex became intrigued in this Holly person as Michael translated for her, surprised at how skilled he is in sign language and also at the fact that he learned it for nine years while she knew most of everything throughout her life. Giving him a small smile, she couldn't help but be curious as to how Michael and Sammy knew each other which she could ask later when she could get some time alone with Sammy.

Feeling the vibration on her bed, Alex turned to her left side while being careful not to pull anything and held out her arm for Ezio to have some sort of a perch, at least for a bit. Once done, she slowly petted Ezio carefully but making sure the bird get some enjoyment out of it as a smile came across her face. As Alex continued on, her mind began to drift as small thoughts spread out from the odd dream/memory-like sequence to the questioning of where Leo and Siam was then finally settled onto the danger these Queens were in.

Quietly, she wondered how long it'd take for her to get out of the place she were being taken care for as seeing she was asleep for three days straight. Letting out a quiet huff coming out of her, she looked to Ezio and the bird flew off without asking any questions then turned back to the gang that was apparently making plans to meet up with this Holly person.

Waving her hand, she were able to get Sammy's attention and asked him if it's okay for her to leave. "I mean, come on! I'm wanting to leave this place and back to my apartment in West Point.." She signed, feeling like a child whining about something else as she slightly pouted to him, not caring what everybody see what she's doing.

"Beside..." Alex continued. "I'm sure my brother is getting worried about me not checking in." It came to her realizing that her phone must be here somewhere in the building and asked for it to whoever could get it for her. "Just so I know if I got some unanswered texts from him... Or did you guys call him?"

While someone went to get her phone, Alex suddenly smacked herself in the face when she remembered that her brother, Mike, were in basic training and that meant he's not using the phone for a few days while he's in the woods. Sighing, she rubbed her face carefully as she explained to everybody who he was through either Sammy or Michael that could translate the rest of it.

Looking out of the window for a moment then turned her face back to Sammy and asked if the school is back for business or if it was for good. "Just curious about it since I'll probably have to take the time to heal up, but something tells me I'll be good as new soon!" She gave out a smile to him, feeling pretty good about it.

"Don't worry though I am sure I’ll get used to it... eventually."

Siam smiled slightly at Rizan's reaction, she was glad that he was keeping up as well as he was. She purred slightly as he scratched her ears, it felt good, a lot more enjoyable than what she thought it'd be. She followed after Rizan as he kept walking; keeping her senses on high alert for the faintest indication that there was someone or something following the pair of them. Stopping suddenly, Siam spun to the side as she eyed the alleyway, a low growl rumbling up her throat as her eyes scanned the shadows. She wasn't sure exactly what it was, but there was something there; lingering just out of sight as it hunted them.

Turning her head to Rizan, she whined at him before she "dismissed" the thing she sensed from her mind. Siam followed after him, focusing her attention even more on their surroundings as she made light chitchat with him. "Do you miss school? Or could you careless about it?' Siam asked, only for her attention to get pulled away again as a scream of terror pierced the air.

A snarl tearing free, Siam registered that they were at their destination; even though she didn't remember crossing that much distance. She was sure she recognized that scream, even if it was only for a few moments that spent time with Alex. Stay close to me, she hissed mentally, before she began stalking toward the building, scanning her surroundings for the slightest thing out of place. Siam bumped the door open with her nose, looking inside she saw Michael slip into a room without either of his partners serving as escorts. (or at least that she'd seen)

She flicked her tail toward Rizan, letting him know it was safe to go inside. Slinking down the hallway, she sneaked a look into each of the rooms as she walked past. Finally coming to the room that she was looking for, she sighed in relief when she saw all of the occupants were okay. Slipping in, she walked over to Cheyenne and Largo, purring slightly as she brushed against the two felines. Turning to Noct, she bumped her head against him, before she rubbed her head against him in greeting.

After saying hello to Devon and Sammy, she wandered over to the two girls and greeted them too. She walked back toward the door to check on Rizan as she tossed over her shoulder, "Hey Sammy, would it be okay if you brought Rizan up to speed? He's new to this war, and he could possibly use an explanation, I told him a little bit when we were on our way over. 'Kay, thanks Sammy, you're the best!" She grinned at the last bit, showing that she was just teasing and that Sammy didn't have to do anything he didn't want to do.

~- The Artist, The Warrior (Present) -~

Jason sat at the easel, his hand gliding over the paper even as his eyes darted to the object he was currently working on. The glass vase winked at him in the light, which made Jace smile as his eyes dashed back to the paper to check his progress. The soft sound of music drifted to his ears, helping him to relax so his already fluid motions became even more fluid. Jezebel sat on the edge of the easel, watching him while being careful not to touch the paper. Jason smiled at the hawk; reaching out a hand he petted the top of her head before lowering his hand back to his lap again.

The slight sound of an inhale, pause and exhale alerted him that Emma was still sleeping peacefully on his bed. A quick glance told him that Emma's partner, a young fox kit, was curled up sleeping next to Emma. Focusing back on his drawing, Jason scowled at it in frustration, he could see that the proportion was off; but no matter what he did he couldn't fix it. Even though it only felt like seconds, apparently he had been staring intently at the picture for a longer period of time; because Jezebel asked, "Penny for your thoughts?"

Jason sat there quiet, warring within himself whether to answer or not. Putting the charcoal down, Jason yawned tiredly as he scrubbed his hands clean on a paper towel. Keeping his voice down so he didn't disturb his little sister, he explained, "The pictures not turning out the way I want it to, Emma's been bonded to her partner, something that I hoped wouldn't happen. She's only eight years old Jez, how am I supposed to fight knowing that my kid sister already has her partner?"

Jezebel was silent during this, obviously wanting to hear what was on Jace's mind so she knew how to help. Hearing a phone ring, Jace groaned as he recognized the tune that was playing. Quickly fishing the phone out of his pocket, Jace stood up and walked out of his bedroom, gently shutting the door behind him so he didn't disturb his little sister. Answering the call, he raised the phone up and hissed into it, "Lucas, you'd best have a good reason for calling me."

"First, hello to you too Jace. Second, it's your turn to go on patrol."

Jace glanced in the mirror that hung on the wall, already picking out the smudges of charcoal that was all over his face. "Yeah, sorry but I'm delaying that order by a few minutes, that is unless you want me coming in looking like I just got done being a chimney sweep." Jace joked, knowing that even though the greeting had been short, Lucas would give him time to wash up.

Jace smirked as Lucas sighed in mock exasperation, "Playing with the charcoal again? You get the standard five minute time frame that you always get during situations like this. Oh, and Jace, after work tell Emmy I said hi."

"Yes sir," Jace answered, before he hung up the phone and looked over to Jezebel, who was currently perched on his right shoulder. "It is time for a quick shower before heading out on patrol, Jez."

Nine Minutes Later, and four minutes over allowed clean up time

Jason was walking toward the front door, his hands rubbing a towel through his hair furiously. Tossing it to the ground, Jace did a quick once over to make sure he was fully clean before grabbing his weapon of choice off of the counter. Opening the door, he stepped out and locked it before Jason took the steps two at a time. Hitting the sidewalk, Jace rolled with the slight stumble, before popping back up to his feet. Jezebel, who'd been perched on his shoulder beforehand, now took to the air.

Turning to the left, Jace started jogging down the street, his senses on high alert for any Tamers, Spirits or anything or anyone else that may try to jump out and attack him.

~- Flea Collar (Present) -~

"Christa, please they're driving me nuts!"

Christa groaned and rolled onto her right side, trying to ignore the pathetic mewing she heard from her bedroom floor. Burying her head deeper under the pillow, she felt the black cat land on her side with a solid thump. Grumbling, Christa barely stopped herself from snatching Dallas by the scruff of the neck and flinging the feline across the room. "Flea collar! It's worn off again!' Dallas whined, and that told Christa just how crazy Dallas was being driven by the fleas.

Sighing in mock frustration, Christa quickly rolled onto her back and watched as Dallas scrambled onto her stomach. It wasn't too long after they had bonded that she'd discovered that Dallas was allergic to fleas. Cringing inwardly because of the memory, Christa reached out a hand and gave her friend and partner a good scratch behind the ears. "Flea collar?" He half-meowed, half-purred, the odd little sound making her laugh because it was so cute. Picking up the small house cat, she held him a few feet in the air and smiled at him.

"I would love to Dallas, but I don't have the funds to get you it." She teased halfheartedly, a tiny thread of worry creeping in because of the minor truth in the last statement.

"But you said you just got paid recently."

Christa looked away from Dallas at the retort; she couldn't stand the hurt look in his eyes. Yeah, she had gotten paid, but at the moment she didn't have a role in anything; and the recent paycheck was a more skimpy than she would have liked; it was barely enough for the rent and groceries that week. "Yeah, and my landowner's being a jerk at the moment, Dal." She sighed, bringing the Nightmare back down so he was on her stomach. Christa stared at her ceiling; it was painted a light blue; just as she always liked it to be.

All of a sudden, she was really regretting not taking Lady Danu up on the offer of staying in her apartment. Sighing in defeat, Christa moved Dallas off of her and sat up on the bed; rubbing him behind the ears she said shyly, "Come on, Dal, I think I have just enough left over that I could get you a flea collar. And if push comes to shove, I can ask Delilah for the money again."

She laughed a bit at the happy chirp that escaped Dallas as the feline jumped off the bed, heading for the door, Christa snatched up the light grey and blue hoodie from the chair and headed outside, before she turned left and headed to her favorite pet store.

Christa even entertained the idea of paying Danu a visit after the trip to the store. Well, if she didn't get ambushed along the way.

~- Waiting to Break Free (Past) -~

Angie tracked the two feline nightmares that were ahead of them, not even bothering to pay attention to the sidewalk that she was jogging down. She threw a quick glance in Sirius's direction, sidestepping the person that was heading toward her; she asked calmly, "Is there anything else that I showed be aware of in regards to your friend?"

Tapping into the link she shared with Nightshade, she smiled slightly at Sabor's response to Nightshade's question. She also sensed Nightshade's minor hesitation in talking to the older Nightmare. How's our guest doing? Nightshade asked as soon as she felt Angie at the edge of her mind.

Angie laughed sheepishly at the question, catching the unspoken reprimand that the tigress Nightmare wished to give. The boy hasn't done anything hostile yet, but I'm uneasy around him. I feel like I'm going to break free. Angie answered mentally, there was no sign that she was having a mental conversation. Looking to Sirius again, Angie kept her expression blank, grateful for once that her powers were illusions so it gave her excellent control over what she let show around others.

Even as she waited for an answer from either party, Angie felt her skin start crawling even as her chest suddenly felt constricted. Stopping in her tracks, Angie closed her eyes, taking a quick moment to compose herself as the voices whispered through her mind. Don't lose control, you can keep yourself together until later, can't you? Angie reprimanded herself, before she forced the surge of panic down.

Opening her eyes, she smiled at Sirius and said, "Sorry about the sudden pause, let us be going now. Nightshade and Sabor are not too far ahead of us." Without waiting for a reply, Angie started moving again, the itchy sensation temporarily gone from her skin.

Sky turned her eyes to Devon's, seeing her confusion mirrored in his deep blue eyes. After a moment, a crooked grin spread across his face as her brother said, "You know Holly, Sky. She's always moving, and she's like Aunt Lily; she's got a sense for knowing things."

Cheyenne tilted her head to the side, curiosity shining in her eyes. "Why do you say that, Hunter?"

Sky turned to look at the Spirit where she sat at the foot of Alex's bed. Stowing her phone away, Sky said, "Aunt Lily has a knack for being able to find people, and Holly kind of inherited that power. But for Holly, she's able to track down Spirits, and she's got a sense for who their human partners are supposed to be, even if Holly hasn't met either the Spirit or the Tamer before in her life. She's been a big help for the Tamers in L.A. because of being a 'Spirit Finder' as everyone keeps joking."

"She could be in trouble, then."

Sky whipped around to look at Noct when he said that, and she noticed that even Sammy had turned to face the cat, his discussion with Alex about her brother and needing to speak with Michael's friend about whether or not Alex might be strong enough to go home yet forgotten for a moment. Sky saw Sam twist his hands in a quick gesture, possibly as a 'just a moment' to Alex, before he said to Noct, "Why would Holly be in trouble?"

Noct's words were for the room at large, and Sky could have sworn she saw Alex jump as Noct projected his voice directly into the deaf girl's mind. "Each of the Queens have their own strengths and powers. Sometimes these powers are hereditary, and pass from mother to daughter; other times, their power manifests in its own, unique way. I've heard that one or two of the Queens may be human, and that the power to unite Spirits with their Tamers is entirely within the scope of her power. If this is true, your cousin could very well be one of the Queens, which means she could be in danger from the Reapers if they catch wind of her gift."

Sky's eyes grew wide as she said, "No way, Aunt Lily would flip!" Turning to Devon, she said softly, "Dev, can you...?" Her voice trailed off as she watched Devon walking away with Largo trotting at his heels; in Devon's hand, Sky could just make out his phone pressed against his ear as he said in a low voice, "Hey, Dad? Holly's just flown in; can you meet her...?"

Devon's voice faded as he walked down the hall, but it wasn't long before a boy and a sleek female panther walked in to take the space that Devon had just left. After a quick bit of jargon between Sam and the panther that identified herself as Siam, Sky said, "Okay, so we get Holly safe, we bring everybody up to speed and start training Alex; then what?"

Harm gave the two Reapers her attention as they spoke back and forth, though she did keep an eye on Natasha at the same time. All three of them were pretty level headed, but Nat's temper was the one that was most likely to heat up the quickest, a fact that had gotten the girls into trouble on occasion. But Nat seemed calm at the moment, a fact that Harm was thankful for; even though she hated negotiating with Reapers, Leah had made sure Harm and Nat both understood that any information the Reapers were willing to give was always of the utmost importance, so Harm tried to keep her famous patience whenever a Reaper asked for a truce, no matter how temporary. Even so, Harm found herself calling out to her partner with her mind.

What do you think, Esme?

Tell them the truth, the snowy owl returned, and Harm got a momentary vision of the club from high overhead as the bird of prey made another turn around the club. They speak true; I sense no other Reapers waiting to cause mischief, and Ebony and Allegra have nearly the same to report.

Even so, thought Harm with a mental quirk of the lips, I hope the girl remains silent from here out. The boy has a pleasing voice, but her's is rather like a siren!

Harm cut a quick look to Leah, giving the red head a small dip of the head to convey what she'd learned from Esme. Leah returned the gesture, accepting the drink that the boy handed to the three of them in the same motion. Returning her attention to Ician, Harm finally said in her soft voice, "I'm afraid we haven't met this Reaper friend of yours that you mentioned. We only heard about what happened at the school ourselves, and our patrols have been rather uneventful the last few days. As we were discussing earlier, it's been quiet."

~- The Past that Will Always Be -~

Holly stowed her phone away, her hand snaking out as she saw her luggage pop up on the belt. Pulling the suitcase off the machine, the model shrugged her shoulder, making sure that her backpack was secure on her shoulder, then she turned around and headed for the door.

Holly kept her senses peeled for any possibility of hostiles, but she also kept her frame loose and casual. She'd checked in with her parents so they knew she'd landed safely, then she'd called Sky to let her little cousin know that she'd probably be crashing at their place for a bit. All Holly really needed to do now was grab a taxi and get out of the airport. No mean feat when you considered how crazy airport traffic could be, but whatever.

Once she was outside of the main terminal, Holly found it was actually pretty easy to get one of the cabbies to agree to take her to where she wanted to go. Slinging her suitcase into the trunk of the cab, Holly took just a moment to pull a sheathed knife out and tie it quickly beneath the right leg of her jeans. Her eyes lingered on the beautifully curved bow in her luggage for a moment, but then she shut the trunk of the cab and climbed inside the car. Holly was much more comfortable with her archery than she would ever be with wielding a knife, but her father had taught her to never be without some kind of protection, and the bow wouldn't always be available. As the cab pulled away from the curb, Holly sent up a quick prayer that she'd be able to get to Aunt Leyla and Uncle Matt's house without any trouble from the Reapers.

Right, let's see how that turns out...

It was starling to her when Alex felt the 'voice' of Noct humming inside her mind. But that soon changed as Noct proceeded to explain what was going on as she shifted her weight around to get comfortable.

Frowning at this, Alex started to ask Noct something when two other beings came into her room, a boy she didn't recognized but could somehow tell he was one of the good guys, even hoping at that. Beside him was an panther which turns out to be Siam.

Chucking, she petted Siam while signing to her. "Hey, where have you been? I was wondering where you disappeared to." She asked as she looked at Sky, her face showing a slight hint of worry and debating on what to do with Alex and her training. Pausing to take a break from petting Siam's head, Alex reached for her cup of water while making sure not to pull anything that shouldn't be pulled from her surgery when something appeared to her at the door in the image of a lioness.

For a brief moment, Alex and the lioness stared at each other to check each other. To Alex, the lioness appeared to look exactly the same as Leo did when they first met each other; brown fur throughout her body with the exception of a mane which she do not have yet her eyes resembled that of Leo's, which is blue and gold of her sciatic. Alex started to ask the lioness who she is but the lioness turned around to walk, her head over her shoulder then walked on.

"Hey, wait!" She spoke as she got off her bed and staggered off the bed, unknowing the others was unable to see what she was seeing. Gasping and panting to regain her breath, Alex continued on while bumping into items that seemed to want to injure her further than she wanted to. Following the lioness throughout the hall and right to the front door, her right side burned with pain but ignoring it for the time being, Alex managed to reach the front door where the lioness Spirit walked through.

Filled with determination to find out who this Lioness was and why did she appeared to her when the Tamers brought up the subject of the Queens, Alex pushed the front door that leads to outside... and right into a tree as she slammed right into it.

"Ohh.." Alex quietly swore to herself as she rubbed her face carefully then walked back a few inches to see what she hit. Gaping at the sight of a tree in front of her, she wondered out-loud as to why there was a tree in her path. "The heck is a tree in my way?!" She grumbled but stopped when she realized she was in a totally different place. Gulping slowly, she rotated a full 360 and when completely stopped, Alex became shocked for she found herself in a deep dense forest fulled with flying birds, bugs, and many others being amongst themselves.

Stumbling backward, Alex gasped when her heel hit a limb that stuck to the ground and fell onto her ass yet her landing was soft by the grass. She could feel her right side wrapped in her bandages tingling with pain from her ungraceful landing and groaned as she slowly got up on her feet.

After checking her right side to be sure it wasn't that bad, Alex became still when her eyes caught something as it darted by. Feeling her nerves getting on herself, she tried to clear her throat but all that came out was nothing as the dense forest kept on being lively, despite the total contrast of a human being in a place out of her realm.

That was when she realized her new friends weren't to be found and felt herself panicking at the loss of her friends, Alex stumbled onward through the thick woods while being sure not to step on anything that could be dangerous to her feet (she wasn't wearing her normal clothes which were being held on back at her room) as her mind tried to figure out how she got from her room to a forest!

An hour later after walking so far, Alex finally reached the end of the jungle and seeing the stream made her happy that she whopped in excitement as she headed for it. Plodding on her knees, she used her hands to cup a handful of water and gulped it, repeating it to get the thirst out of her system. Exhaling, she looked into the stream, her reflection showing of herself then when she looked back, there was someone in her place yet she still see herself. "Huh..?" She questioned when all of a sudden the reflection of the lioness lifted out of the water and with brightness of a light, it became real.

Shielding her eyes from the light, her face grimacing, the light soon became into the lioness that Alex saw back at the hospital. Sitting on her haunch, the lioness gave Alex her most comforting and nonthreatening smile to her that made Alex feel safe. After a full minute of staring at each other, it was the lioness that broke the ice.

"Hello, Alex. I have been expecting your arrival to this place, the only place which contains those who have been waiting for their awakening from this place." The lioness spoke to Alex.

Feeling like she should ask what the name of this place where she is, Alex asked that question to her which the lioness responded.

"The Valley of Sleepiness that lies beyond the land of Deep Jungle." She spoke with a deep ominousness in her voice that made Alex realize that she was actually in the Spirit Realm!

"How did I get here..?" She questioned to the Lioness that seems to know more than she was letting on. The Spirit chuckled to this and gave her the answer to her question. "Simple.." She rang out. "I brought you here so I can warn you of the threat that will come to your Tamers friends, but one that is within Deep Jungle where your partner, Leo, resides."

Hearing of her friend's name, Alex quickly rose up to her feet and demanded how she knew that. Again, she answered in that caring tone of hers. "Again, it's simple." The lioness spoke as she shifted her weight to make it easier on her haunches.

"He's my dear son."

That made Alex's blue eyes pop wide open as she stuttered, unable to get her words out of her mouth. "Then.. Then.. That means you're.. "

The lioness smiled proudly as she lifted her head upward to the sky which became covered with darkness and filled with stars throughout the night.

~~~
Leo woke up with a start then yawning a deep yawn and exhaled. He could have swore he was awake yet alert for hours in anticipation of a raid of Nightmares coming through the cover of night. Groaning and stretching out his body, he turned his head to see his two best friends and kings of their respective kingdoms through out the land of Deep Jungle, the dragon Zuko on the the ground and the ape Caesar on a tree limb above Zuko.
Shaking his head in amazement at how they could sleep so soundly and on the job, Leo then turned his head back to the path, checking on to be sure they didn't miss a beat. Once satisfied to see nothing has happened yet, he decided to hit the tree while wondering to himself when it'd happen and yet inside his heart, he couldn't shake the feeling that it was a trap but couldn't be sure of it.
As he returned back to his friends, Leo looked up to the starry night and sighed, hoping Alex was okay and even hoped she finally woke up from her sleepiness.
He couldn't have known Alex were up and already on a journey to reach him from the threat that looms closer as he and his friends set ready to prevent another attempt of capturing one of the Seven Queens of Light from the hands of the Reapers and Nightmares.
Taking a deep breath and exhaling, Leo walked around in circles before curling up on the ground and laid himself to sleep.
Michael turned to follow Damhan as the older man wheeled himself out of the room. Rio shared a quick look with Cheyenne, then the shepherd turned to follow after Michael while Cheyenne stayed in the room with Sam and the others as they started discussing what this turn of events with Holly meant.
Rio limped after the two Tamers as Damhan lead the way, speaking the whole length as they discussed the health of their newest Tamer.
“Bruising on the lower section of her back, some partial cracked ribs which have healed nicely since she arrived. To have had such a first involvement with not only a group of strong Nightmares but at the same time the stress of bonding with a Partner, it’s a good sign she can still clearly see other Spirits. It’s very common for that level of stress to completely drain one’s spiritual essence. She is quite fortunate in that sense.”
Michael whistled softly at the end of the report as they entered what appeared to be a library, and Rio couldn't help but agree with the sentiment. Both of them could appreciate that Alex had already had such a close call; Michael had bonded with both Rio and Chey at the same time, nearly triggering a seizure for the Tamer and almost breaking the newly formed connections because the stress had come close to being too much for Michael to manage. Hearing Damhan's report about Alex just brought the memories right back to the front.
"Well, we'll just have to make sure we're with her when she goes out next time. Trust Samson to start the new kid out with bears, and not something manageable like a feline or canine nightmare," Rio chuffed, some of Michael's sarcasm having quite clearly worn off on him.
"Bad timing and rotten luck, Rio, you know that's what it was. Sammy didn't really have any control over what happened. At least no one got too involved with Mor'du; that would have been a nightmare, no pun intended."
Rio didn't respond as Michael fell silent, and the both of them just stayed quiet for a moment, occupied by their own thoughts for the brief span it took Utorem to climb up the desk and for Damhan to turn around to face the younger Tamer and Rio.
“What is it you plan to do now?”
Rio looked over to Michael as the blonde raised a shoulder, shrugging. "Keep an eye on the situation for now, I guess. Sky and Devon's cousin just flew in, and she's claiming that she knows where Sky's partner is, so we need to check that one out. And then there's the matter of Alex. Even after she's doing better, she's raw; she needs some training, and the best bet for that is to take her to the Hunters place for that training. Beyond that? Something about the Queens of Light, is what I think Noct mentioned. Kind of a full plate at the moment, I gotta say. Any suggestions, doc?"
~ December 24th, 1773 ~
"All seems quiet tonight, Beatrice."
The hound looked up at her Tamer, nodding her head in agreement before she hissed softly, "Even so, Adam, we need to be careful. There may not be any Reapers or Nightmares out tonight, but we still have to contend with the Redcoats. Those lobster backs have been on edge ever since the Tea Party, and they'll tan your hide if they see you out at this time of night."
Adam stretched, hooking his left hand behind his right elbow to make the move more effective. A jaw cracking yawn accompanied the action before the young man ran a hand across his scalp, ruffling his blonde hair in the process. Releasing a huff of breath, he said, "How about we round up Paul and Howl, then, and call it a night? Like I said, it seems pretty quiet tonight, so there's no need to risk getting caught by the damn British, right Bea?"
Before Beatrice could respond to the idea, however, a panicked cry sounded across the Tamer link, putting the two of them on high alert.
Help! The Night Angel is attacking...!
"Paul!" Adam didn't even think about the Redcoats as the exclamation left his lips. Even as the distress cry faded from his mind, Adam was already running, Beatrice at his side, the sleekness of her wolf battle form having overtaken the hound she'd been just moments before. Adam reached around to his side, checking that he had both his pistol and sword, then he dipped into Beatrice's power reserves, gaining an extra burst of speed.
The Night Angel. No one knew who the man was, but his powers were legendary in this secret war that the Reapers and Tamers waged against each other. There were some that claimed he was an ancient being, one that had been around from the dawn of the war; others were sure that the Night Angel was a legacy, passed from one person to another. No one knew who he was, but one fact was certain: Wherever the Night Angel went, death followed him. Reaper or Tamer, Nightmare or Spirit, it didn't matter to him who his victim was. He took them all.
The Night Angel spared
no one.
The Tamer and Spirit dashed through the streets of Boston, passing harbor, court house, and sleeping homes, until the pair at last came upon the alleyway that they had seen briefly in the distress signal from Paul. For a moment, Adam slowed his pace, but then it picked up again when he saw a crumpled form at the end of the alley. Whispering a soft prayer under his breath, Adam checked in vain for a pulse, but it was no use. Paul was dead, a deep puncture in his neck still bleeding slowly.
The Night Angel's signature.
"Adam! Howl's still alive!"
Taking a moment to close his friend's eyes, Adam turned away from Paul's body and went over to where Beatrice was curled up next to the injured form of her brother. Adam looked the Spirit over, his aching heart growing heavier at the sight of Howl. The wolf's fur was streaked and matted with blood, and there was a rattling in his chest that suggested blood in his lungs. Adam hoped he was wrong, but he had a sinking feeling that Beatrice didn't have much longer with her brother.
Kneeling beside the two wolves, Adam pulled a bit of healing energy from the wind before placing his hands on Howl's chest. Adam knew he wasn't a strong enough healer to save Howl, and there wasn't any time to get a Tamer who was, but he hoped that he could at least ease the dying Spirit's suffering by allowing him to breath easier.
Howl sighed, a sound filled with relief, before giving Adam a grateful look. Beatrice licked Howl on the cheek, and Adam could see she was trying to hold herself together as she said hoarsely, "What happened, Howl? Paul said it was the Night Angel!"
"It was," Howl whispered, unable to manage a louder pitch. "He took us by surprise. Took Paul out before he could defend himself. Stabbed me in the chest. Paul got the better end of the deal, I think." Howl tried to laugh at the end, to ease some of Bea's worries, but all that came out was a soft, wheezing cough.
"Howl," Beatrice whispered, and Adam knew she was close to breaking. Before either Adam or Howl could say anything to comfort her, though, another voice rang through the alley, a voice that was deep, dark, and chillingly calm.
"I thought I left a loose end."
Adam didn't stop to think. Twisting at the waist, he had his pistol out as he turned to face the intruder; pulling back the hammer, Adam took just a moment to sight his target before pulling the trigger.
The Night Angel spun out of the way, and a soft thud and cloud of brick dust showed that the shot had buried itself in the front of a local business instead of Adam's intended target. For a moment, the Night Angel just studied Adam, or at least, the Tamer thought he did. The Night Angel wore deep black robes, a deep cowl pulled low across his face, hiding his features. All Adam could see was the suggestion of a cold smirk playing under the shadows of the cowl. For a moment, Adam and the hooded man just stood there, watching each other.
A soft exhale and a choked whimper from behind captured Adam's attention. The Tamer felt how still Howl's chest had become, and Adam realized that the Spirit was dead at the same time that Beatrice loosed a keening howl. For a heartbeat, Bea's mournful song was the only sound in the night air, but then it morphed into a snarling bark at the end as she spun around, murder in her eyes. Reading what she was about to do, Adam shouted, "Bea, don't...!"
Beatrice lunged, aiming for the throat of the Night Angel. A soft snick sounded in the alley has the man flexed his right wrist before throwing his arm forward. A soft yelp sounded from Beatrice as the blow connected with her throat before the man slammed her inert body against the ground.
"Beatrice!"
Adam felt something in his mind snap as his connection with the Spirit broke. Rage and pain coursing through him, the young Tamer called up a howling gale as he screamed at the man responsible for the death of his partner. Unhooking his sword, he drew the blade from its sheath, swearing to himself that vengeance would be his.
He'd never get that far, however. Adam was pushed to the ground, a sharp, stinging pain slowly spreading from his neck before his head even hit the earth. He found he was unable to control his body any longer, a numbness spreading through his limbs and a darkness spreading across his vision. Distantly, Adam realized that he was experiencing the last moments of his life.
The soft sound of footsteps penetrated the fog in his brain, and Adam found his numb gaze drawn to the boots of a figure that hadn't been in the alleyway until this moment. Through darkening eyes, Adam saw that this figure was dressed similarly to the first, but his robes seemed to be closer to a very dark blue than black. He still wore a cowl like the first, and Adam realized that both of them wore hidden blades at their wrists.
Seeming to have forgotten about the dying Tamer, the second figure approached the Night Angel as he said quietly, "Busy night, my brother?"
"Very," said the one in black, his hooded gaze turning to survey the carnage in the alleyway. Looking back to the one that had spoken to him, he said in a bored fashion, "However, dawn is fast approaching, and I think it's time that we left."
"Agreed," said the new comer. Without another word, the two of them left the alleyway, blending into the shadows of the night. Neither one payed any further attention to the Tamer they had left to die. Adam didn't have to worry about lingering for long, however. His last breath left his body shortly after the two left the alley, one thought lingering in his mind even as his life left him.
There were
two Night Angels...
"I'm afraid we haven't met this Reaper friend of yours that you mentioned. We only heard about what happened at the school ourselves, and our patrols have been rather uneventful the last few days. As we were discussing earlier, it's been quiet."
"I see... well its better that way she's very hostile, and it would do better for the boss if we found her before she runs into a Tamer," Ician responded clearly a bit relieved to her that news. Though that still left their friend at large, and thus a big problem especially added with the fact they were still looking for their boss. Ician closed his eyes temporarily as his face directed to the ceiling while his left hand slowly started to swirl around the glass of wine in a hypnotic manner.
"So what's it look like?"
"The only ones inside the building are the three your already talking to plus their Spirits outside keeping watch. Though only two pairs are actual partners so you have two who have no bonds yet."
"I see have they sensed you yet?"
"No they are primarily mid-ranged when it comes to sensing abilities. Though the owl keeps moving about, but I am making sure to stay out of his range. Avaline is also doing her best to stay as far away as possible, but she is getting restless from not being able to check on Rika."
"Well then I probably shouldn't keep them separated for to much longer. Tis dangerous to keep a child away from her mother."
"Agreed. I'll report back in if I discover anything milord."
Ician's eyes opened back up as he gentle brought the cup up to his lips slowly quenching his thirst with a soft sip. As he slowly emptied the glass Rika seemed to have a disappointed pout on her face yet decided to not go in any further. With a soft sigh Ician placed his empty glass down. Rika placed her glass down as well as she awaited their next move that her partner was already in the work of contemplating. When it seemed the tense silence was soon to shatter the young man finally spoke.
"Well ladies it was a pleasure to be in your bewitching grace, but I fear we are running out of time before everyone starts to awake from their ill caused slumber. Though I am sure we will meet again," he said slinging his guitar onto his back as he gave a polite courteous nod to the girls before Rika slammed her hands into the table giving Ician a questioning look. It was quite clear she didn't like the idea of leaving them untouched, or unscathed now that they knew their was a second reaper element. In truth it could cause trouble for them yet their was one reason that halted Ician from even considering a hostile nature... the Tamers knew nothing about them besides the fact they were currently split up. "It does us no good to cause trouble Rika. Besides at this moment we have no agenda to even fight "them" at this time," Ician pointed out to Rika causing her cheeks to puff out in a soft grumble as she put her hands into her pockets before mumbling about how he never allowed her to play with their prey. Ician watched her with a raised eyebrow before shaking his head with a hand rubbing against his temple as she walked away before her inner desires caused her to attack... well at least she was trying to behave. "For the life of me I don't know why he paired me with her. Well then I apologize again for wasting your time, and I wish you all a peaceful night," Ician spoke softly as he started to follow after Rika as she continued to mumble complaints on top of complaints. He chuckled lightly at her as she opened the door, and started to ruffle her hair in frustration before dashing off before she could change her mind.
"Hm at least she tries to keep herself in line even if on rare occasion," Ician chuckled lightly as he walked after her toward the exit leaving a small possibility that the Tamers might try to follow, attack, or simply let them walk away, and deal with them at another time. With that said the night was young, and Ician was always game for a small tussle if it was forced.
"So lady what brings you to the Big Apple," the Cab Driver asked Holly as he made his way to her requested destination. So far today was shaping up to be a fine day the sun was out, that weirdo mechanic had finally fixed the damn engine on his Cab, and he was currently in the company of a lovely little lady. As the Cabi listened to the girl's response he took a turn onto the Brooklyn Bridge where Holly would immediately feel a hostile presence.
"I finally found you little Tamer," a voice whispered into Holly's head. Not to far away in front of the cab on the bridge was a woman with long silver hair drifting about against the current of the wind. Her eyes were out of view thanks to the current distance along with her long strands of hair constantly getting in the way. The second most noticeable thing as this intense insanity game of chicken played out was the woman's clothing which wasn't clothing at all, but a full suit of armor minus the helmet. The woman looked as if she had walked right out of a medieval story book with armor as black as the night giving off an enchanting glistening glow thanks tot he sun radiating off it. Seconds were all that were left as the cab race closer towards the woman at this point Holly would probably realize the Cabi couldn't see her which meant only one thing as a strong deep seated aura of malice came closer, and closer to suffocating Holly... the woman in front of her... was a reaper. In the last moment before the cab would hit the armored woman the woman's right hand stretched out behind her with each of her fingers slowly curling into a fist.
"Nivel de furia," the woman spoke before swinging her now dark glowing hand downward, and completely obliterating the cabs frontal region up to the front window causing the glass to shatter due to the massive force caused in one blow halting the car violently from moving any further. The front airbag immediately activated knocking out the Cab Driver instantly. As the dust started to clear the unnatural fog started to converge around the bridge as if to cover the scene as multiple cars behind came to a violent halt to avoid colliding with the wreckage. The woman whose fist had caused the mess was wedged into the cemented bridge. After holding still for a few moment of silence the woman pulled her fist out shaking the rubble of her hand as she looked at the totaled and smoke filled cab. Flicking some dust off her left shoulder the woman's now seeable crimson eye's returned to the cab with a annoyed scoff.
"I know you survived that rapaza," the woman spoke out. Though when she didn't get a response her eyes seemingly flash in annoyance as in a fluid motion her right hand swung back to its side. With a sudden flare of energy a claymore formed into the woman's hand as the hood of the car went flying off the bridge before plummeting into the water. As the smoke cleared out of the car all together Holly would be met with the woman's gaze revealing her Galician feature's, and lightly tinted skin.
"Now thyne enemy prepare yourself to either fight, or run," the woman threatened.
~♣The Plot Thickens♣~
Rizan stood their completely confused by the whole situation along with the fact he never had any idea to begin with was not really helping him over all as everyone talked about numerous foreign subjects around. One a doctor in a wheelchair with a GIANT SPIDER next to him was giving a diagnoses of apparent battle damage to the girl resting in the bed. Another group was talking about some sort of important woman who was apparently a Queen of Light while the last group was talking about a requirement to anti up their training. Rizan slowly spoke up trying to grab someone's attention to at least help him process a little of what was going on.
"Um excuse me," he was completely ignored as everyone continued with their own set of predicaments. Rizan mumbled out again, but was still ignored as he suddenly heard Siam's voice in his head telling him to stay close... wait she could telepathically speak with him? Now even more confused he tried to mumble out a few words in the already loudly conversing room. Getting a bit upset over no one willing to help him he suddenly raised his hand out, and yelled.
"EXCUSE ME," unfortunately due to the sudden rise in emotion, and Rizan complete non-existent understanding of his power a sudden mass collection of light magic build up into his raised hand, and unleashed a blinding solar flare all around the room blinding everyone in range until the spell faded. With wide eyes adding more unto the pile that was Rizan's confusion the boy looked up at his hand complete unfazed by the spells effects due to his magic type. No realizing he had caught all attention he found himself even more uncomfortable until he noticed Siam who had also been unfazed by the attack. Suddenly kneeling down in embarrassment he hugged the cat for some source of comfort in this highly confusing situation and said.
"I'll... just keep to my cat for now, and wait in the other room until someone has time," he said as he picked up the jungle cat, and walked away into the next room to wait for someone to have time to explain anything at all to him to help easy any of this overbearing information. Finding a couch he simply sat down, and began to pet Siam.
"Sorry... about that," he apologized to Siam.
~♠Catching Up♠~
"No worries my dear," Sirius chuckle innocently at Angie's strange behavior as they got back on track with catching up with the feline nightmares. It was clear the girl he was traveling with was fighting some sort of urge, but what kind was to be determined later. Though Sirius had to admit he was highly curious to what reason she would suddenly stop, but at the time he needed to pay attention to the whereabouts of his associates. Besides once he found them then he could give his attention to Danu's forces as well as the Tamer's in this city.
"Oh my do give me a moment," Sirius said as a sudden link was made with him from a outside force. With a sudden side step he lunged at a faster velocity quickly catching up with the leading cat Sabor he gave a soft grin.
"Do you mind if we stop for a moment I just felt one of my friends energy levels," he asked before slowing down to a complete halt to get a better feel for the area they were in. Once he confirmed the scent he remained quiet though most likely was communicating with his partner wherever it was. After a short moment of silence the teens once blank slowly curled a grin of satisfaction. Turning to his current group he gave a soft apologetic bow.
"If you don't mind please wait here a moment. I just made contact with one of my people," he explained as he walked over to the closes building, and leaned against the wall. It was clear the big cat named Saber didn't like Sirius presence which wasn't all that shocking the boy's scent was probably lightly confusing the big nightmare... though for reason Sirius wouldn't explain... not now anyways.
"So then while we wait do you mind if I ask what exactly your groups mission is under the Nightmare Queen Danu?"
~~~~~~Flight of Death~~~~~~

It was the sound of dozens of screeches that decided to shatter the silence throughout the jungle the three Spirit Kings were resting within. The flock of winged creatures were massive in numbers, the large black mass darkening out the very light of the moon as they moved through the sky as one single entity.

Though the nightmare bats were slightly bigger than normal, as most Spirit creatures seemed to be, it was the single largest shadow that followed in the wake of the flock moving that was the most concerning. Bigger than perhaps even the entirety of the group of bats itself, this single creature though colossal in size was still that of the same much smaller winged creatures.

The large trees of the jungle swayed slightly, even those tightly packed together to provide cover from the elements, shook and bristled as the giant Nightmare flew by with its group of young. Continuing onwards through the dark sky, the two giant black masses climbed higher as they swiftly passed over the thick jungle and into the now barren wasteland that most of this part of the world had become.

The sudden change in the environment seemed to hold its own set of natural inhabitants, Nightmares of numerous types prowling their own little areas which had been picked clean of any of the kinder Spirit inhabitants long ago.

~~~~~~Hungering Darkness~~~~~~
Any suggestions…hmm…Utorem, could you get the Index, please?” Damhan asked his Spirit as he leaned forward from his wheelchair, his own attention on searching briefly through the loose sheets of paper before him while Utorem swiftly scuttled across the mini mountains of books and paper, just to reach the rather shoddily put together tome of a book.
What I know of the Queens is rather limited, as is much about the Spirit Realm. Anything useful has just been pieced together from word of mouth over the centuries of this very long war. What we do know, is that the Queens are some kind of Spirits, capable if they choose to, alter their forms in order to remain hidden from danger. Whatever danger may appear as, seems to determine their change.” Said the old Irish man, opening the large book to reveal the collection of mismatched pages, some beginning to fade and turn yellow after many years, while some appeared new and white sticking out in a few cases at odd angles, as if they were much too big or oddly shaped for the actual confines of the tome itself.
One of the last mentions of them comes from a time when supposedly the Realms were nearly split open. There aren’t many Spirits even close to being old enough to remember this event, and those that can, can only just. But, whatever truly happened, it seems to be it was the only known time all Queens were together. After this, it is said the group split themselves between our Realm and the Spirits, sealing off the only path that all were able to pass freely from one to the next. It is why over the centuries our Realm has slowly forgotten about them, leaving just us Tamers.
Even my own memory can only reach so far back. I believe even then it was a fairytale, of the radiant light of the Queens that drove back the hungering darkness. The last Great War is more recent to us Spirits than that legend, and that happened nearly a thousand years ago.” Utorem said as she returned to her spot close to Damhan, her eyes blinking as she looked towards Rio and Michael.
Teaching the new Tamer is the best thing to do right now. After which, if news of the Queens returning has made itself known, it’s only a matter of time before the Nightmares being led by the Reapers will make their move. Finding them first is possibly our best course of action to take right now.
