I think it's more like Sora and Riku's experience in KH3D; Unchained is the player's dream version of their reality. We already know someone in a sleeping world can dream up a deeper level of sleeping worlds. And, on top of that, both those worlds seem to run parallel in time, regardless of the dreamer being asleep or awake within their level of the sleeping world (thanks Twilight Town hologram Riku).

We really don't know this yet since the main story of Daybreak Town hasn't even started in Unchained yet. At mission 300 we're currently finished with Dwarf Woodlands, still leaving the rest of the Olympus Coliseum story before Ephemera will enter the stage.

Like Riku traveling Sora's dream versions of the dream worlds but multiplied hundred fold.

I hope this is the case. That means that if they awaken...we may get a Keyblade Society in the mainline games

Not a "Keyblade Society" but factions for another devastating war, hence why it would be unwise to allow that many wielders again.

Yep, exactly.
Although I could see them bringing up some cheap drama/dilemma with that when counting in Sora's "need" to help people who are suffering.
Imagine him seeing all those wielders who perished in the original war trapped in sleep and suffering and then Sora being Sora decides to help them only with someone else (Yen Sid? Mickey? Aqua? Flowerboy?) advising against it because bringing back this many wielders would be a prime opportunity to rekindle the flames of war.

Heck, Xehanort could try to get his hands on this "Key to return Hearts" for exactly this purpose. If it can be used to restore even "only-heart"-beings like Naminé, Xion and Roxas, waking up thousands of hearts trapped in sleep isn't too farfetched either.

Realistically speaking reviving thousands of wielders is the only way Xehanort can have his war. 20 wielders and random allies just don't quite reach the numbers needed to be called a war. lol
