pluto was a reference to the dogs, eraqus to the "my friend made this", ansem the wise and kevin Flynn both "what am i doing here", sora and vanitas were basically looking for friends (they didn't know what "the sex" was)

i though xion was widely headcanoned as a transgender although i should have mentioned it head on, apologies for that, and i mentioned FB in the OP. basically mostly covered.
