Kingdom Hearts @ New York Toy Fair '16: Play Arts Kai, Plush, Busts, and Possible Funko Pops?

Hey KHi, past-active-member but permanent-lurker here! I was fortunate enough to attend the New York Toy Fair '16 today as press and stopped by the Square Enix Merchandise booth (among others) to find out what information I could.

Square Enix Booth, Kelsey Britt, NA Merchandise Coordinator:

• Currently no plans to bring over the Flood, Dusk, or Meow Wow plush to the US
• Currently no plans for Terra, Ventus, or Aqua Play Arts Kai figures (but she is pushing to have more merchandise made of TAV and brought stateside, main decisions are made in JP, but she is a big KH fan herself)
• SE is hesitant to release new KH products for fear of spoiling new story points, but once KH2.8 and KH3 come out, you can expect more figures and plush to come out to reflect them
• Formation and Static Arts lines currently have no continuation plans, SE is hoping the new bust figure (Lightning prototype photo below) can become the next big line; KH would be a natural fit if so

Funko Pop Booth:

• Someone who works with the artists and the sculptors said they have seen Kingdom Hearts be brought up on the list of future potential projects many times
• Marketing team obviously tight lipped on future projects until deal is officially made (nothing guaranteed until then, so take everything with a grain of salt), but they were very familiar with the characters when I brought up the name "Kingdom Hearts"
• They actively look to Facebook, Twitter to see where fan interest lies

Not much new information (some not so positive *cough* TAV Play Arts Kai *cough*) but while information is slow, new info is new info. Would you guys be interested in seeing Kingdom Hearts Pop Funko figurines?

I've so been wanting Funko Pops to happen for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy! Please, please happen!

I already have so many for Disney, and now the Sailor Moon ones are coming. Riku, Sora, Namine, and the KH versions of Donald, Goofy, and Minnie would be great. Halloween Town Sora, Christmas Town Sora, Heartless Riku, and the Shadow Heartless would all be really cute, too.

Awesome to hear we'll be getting new KH merch. I just got my first funko pop actually, but would love to get some KH ones. It's the one franchise left that would really ​get me into collecting them.

Would not surprise me at all if we get a handful of KH Funko Pops around the release of KH3. Makes sense. The Pops release based on current geek/pop culture, such as the Fallout Pops releasing soon after Fallout 4 and the Star Wars Pops coming out with The Force Awakens. I see it as very possible that we'll get some KH3 Pops.

I really want a Flood and Dusk plush and you literally can't buy a Dusk plush on the internet. They're not available for purchase ANYWHERE. I've checked. And even if you can find one, it's some jerk selling it for $300+ dollars because it's so rare outside of Japan. So, that sucks. Guess I'll just have to be content with my Shadow plush from the 2.5 collector's edition.

I've been wanted TAV figures since the announcement of BBS. The fact that it's been almost 10 years since we first saw the KH2FM secret ending and there are still no figures for BBS is very dumb. They made Dream Drop Distance figures, but no Birth By Sleep? Da fuq, guys? Regular TAV? Keyblade Armor TAV? Master Xehanort? Vanitas? And on the topic of villains, where are there no Ansem or Xemnas figures? C'mon, Square.

I would buy every last KHPOP they put out. I already have enough as it is but if KH were to come into the mix, oh lawdy. I'm waiting on a Disney Infinity line as well

You know, the more I think it about it, the more I'm certain KH will get funko pop eventually. They do them for Disney, and they've made them for Black Butler and Soul Eater (which are connected to SE, aren't they?), so KH definitely seems within the realm of possibility.
