No new Keyblades and Scala is a 1 time dungeon. How tf can Square screw up Scala AGAIN?
Spoiler Show
I mean, the Realm of Darkness in BBS was a one-time dungeon. The idea of Schala being playable alone was an asinine dream, anyway. On top of that...what other keyblade is there? I mean...aren't Oathkeeper and Oblivion the new keyblades? As as far as I've seen, they combined with Ultima Weapon, they're...actually pretty powerful together. But in all honesty...yeah, no. It's not enough for me to buy it tbh. Still, I admired that they at least TRIED to please the crowd at. I'd say...the most disappointing to me was the fact that Radiant Garden isn't even CONSIDERED a world. It's literally just...an entryway for the Data Organization and nothing more. On top of this, glad to see the Final Fantasy characters being shafted for just ONE scene, being reduced to nothing just like the Disney characters. Glad we met in the middle, Square.
Sweet. I have so many thoughts

I'm surprised at the one year timeskip after Sora's death. Also surprised that Aqua got her keyblade and armor back without the chamber of repose being addressed. But hey, we got a scene between Terra and Riku. That's good I guess

I really dislike the year timeskip. There is no purpose to it. It might as well have been a month later for how redundant it is. On top of it, it makes no sense with them being in all of their same clothes looking exactly the same as always. At this point isn't Riku like 18 years old xD
Nomura has zero concept of the point of time skips in media.

1. I love that Re:Mind is a huge band-aid to the garbage that was the Graveyard in the original game, but once you realize the only actual new scene comes from the very start of the DLC and everything else is just SoKai shenanigans it's a bit underwhelming IMO.
2. I LOVE the scene between Terra and Riku, it really made me appreciate Terra more as a character (even though the context of the scene is funny since Riku surpassed him in pretty much every way? But I guess we just have to accept that Nomura wants to have Terras as the strongest character around. lol)
3. The bossfight between the 6 lights and the armors has some really cool interactions, I specially love Roxas and Ventus / Terra and Riku. But the scene right after where Mickey literally burst out with Exacalibur from fate/ made me lose my shit, lol. They looked at our reactions to Donald's Zetaflare and wanted to top it and well, they suceeeded.
4. I have to say, I flat out burst laughing at how Kairi willingly puts herself in a comma for 1 year during the timeskip. They ALMOST managed to fix the garbage treatment she got in the original only for Nomura to pull this mess right after? Incredible. lol
Isn't it obvious though?Spoiler Show

Nomura plans on making 4 more spinoff games prior to KH4. One with TAV in the Realm of Darkness, one which rehashes old worlds in new graphics with MDG, one with Kairi in the Realm of Sleep, and the last being Riku searching for Sora in Shibuya. Lol. Expect at least one of those on Nintendo Switch.

Also I gotta admit, I've really respected Mickey during his last stand against the Xehanort replicas. His refusal to give up despite being knocked down really moved me.
Yeah that's a good point. You'd thinkSpoiler Show

there would be a change in wardrobe. Guess Nomura is saving them for the next game
Spoiler Show
Honestly, as said as above...the 1 year time-skip literally had NO reason to exist. Like....why a whole goddamn year? And yeah, from what I observed in a video...Kairi...didn't get much. I mean...it doesn't even seem impossible to beat Kairi WITH Xehanort, like, the gall of putting her in the ONLY place to fight her is just...really?
But hey, I'll give them the 7 guardians fighting the darkness, and Mickey's time to shine. It was a nice scene and they did one of the most useless Disney characters of the 6 justice. eHHH...Useless isn't the right word. They did Mickey justice, that's it. Had it not been for the year coma, they would've finally done Kairi justice, too.
Isn't it obvious though?

But did they need the year gap for that when they are essentially starting these things IN Limit Cut which is already a year later?
I laughed through the entirety of the Limit Cut stuff, or what I was able to find of it. (Also, Nomura, it's called an epilogue. Just call it an epilogue.)Spoiler Show

-Basically EVERYTHING we saw SHOULD have been in the base game. Including all that beginning stuff. They don't even have a purpose in the DLC. Maybe it was time restraints or something and it all got repurposed for this mess, but that only shows how much this game needed another year to get its head on straight. This whole DLC story-wise was honestly a waste, and once again, the trailers made it come off like there was going to be so much more, but in actuality, gave most of it away.
-Lost potential. Sora diving into everyone's heart could'a been something cool, but instead we got scenes that should have been in the base game. This DLC should have been used to give everyone, Org. XIII included, so much more screentime that we didn't already see and a look into their interactions/thoughts/feelings/etc.
-Sora interrupting the Terranort/Lingering WIll fight made no damn sense, and only existed to make the trailers cool.
-Mickey segment was badass.
-Sora rescued Mickey just to get one of Kairi's heart fragments, then left Mickey back to falling to his death. XD
-My babies are back for a whole two minutes and that's it.
-Why the one year timeskip?!?!?!?!
-Everything was dumb.
-Why are we paying $30 for something we've already played? And no one better give me the "the Final Mixes did it" because that ain't the same thing and part of the point of DLC is so we DON'T do this.
-I made this:

The whole Recusant Sigil situation was an odd addition. I think I get the theme behind them (they all became friends when they got their "new" names), but it's so ill explained and build up on. The sigil is meant to be similar to being branded, for incarnations of Xehanorts or whatnot to be traced. So is it them "freeing their reigns" of sorts? If so, they should have dwelled into that more rather than a comment by Roxas that he wanted to claim it anyway.
Also, how does Roxas know all this suddenly? He's turning all Naminé now, somehow the keeper of knowledge to explain events to the players. Though Naminé at least has the power for us to comprehend how she got that information.
Anyway, the whole thing was weird I find.

I was judging Nomura because everyone is doing something to search for Sora and the one person who actually has the power to trace chains in multiple people's Hearts/memories isn't mentioned or isn't doing shit, like what. Then I realized "the Twilight Gang are studying Roxas' and Xion's memories". Unless Pence gained some brand new techie enlightenment, the only person who can do that is Naminé.
Then it made sense.
The "Twilight Gang" blindsided me, she's in that group. Twilight Town is her home.

The SoKai, dayum. I can't see how much more official can it get unless they kiss or are shown in the future married with children. They're canon.

As far as far as actual playable content goes, this is probably the weakest "final mix" of them all. The fact that NOTHING changes in the base game is so.. underwhelming? While I appreciate that all of the new content is endgame taking away the need to replay the whole game again, having nothing new in the past worlds and everything being just a rework of pre-existing boss fights + Yozora is just.. not fun.
No new Hidden Mickeys, no new stuff to do in Disney worlds or even Twilight Town, apparently no new Keyblades either, no new combos.. nothing. If you don't care about superbosses you can pretty much ignore the WHOLE DLC and have the same experience by watching the cutscenes on youtube.

Also, did they like...make this model for the lols? Or is this another troll from Nomura? Does she not exist in this game or what? Granted the Radiant Garden trio proven to be a weak slot this time around...but don't tease us with shit like her, when you know damn well she isn't going to even EXIST in this game.
Spoiler Show
The scene with Riku conversing with the Final Fantasy characters in Radiant Garden is set 1 year after KH3. Even Kairi is shown to be sleeping for a year while Ansem and his apprentices study her heart.
So with Kairi being asleep does this mean we might get an Inside Out World for the next KH game?!?
