and no, tracing isn't "at least" anything. it's a shit thing to do and those characters should have gone to someone with some semblance of artistic ability.

oh, and everyone here enabling hillboy?? just as guilty as he is. plagiarism isn't just frowned upon, guys—it's against the law.

plagiarism would be if he was submitting the renders as is. he's still doing art, even if it is using a render as a base. i think that's a rather harsh reaction, especially when I was completely unaware of you saying that, and when I wasn't even serious at all with that statement (hence the smilie).

or an idea or product derived from an existing source, presented as new or original. tracing is definitely included in that, and he traced copyrighted material—not stock.

it's a serious offense in the art community, mirby. if you guys can't respect that, that's your call, but i'm pulling my work out of the mural.
