people don't realize that this is the only way forward for KH's welfare as a series. KH needs to bank on its crazy crossover appeal and high quality representations of beloved films, not retreat into its own lore and original characters. With Kingdom Hearts, what really makes me happy is compelling integration of the Disney elements. The Hades stuff is a good start, I'd like to see more of that. Definitely would appreciate confirmation - even if its just in combat footage - of a tried and true Disney world.
I mean Disney themselves aren't exactly putting out bangers like they used to.people don't realize that this is the only way forward for KH's welfare as a series. To this day I feel like the Steam trailer is the worst thing I've ever seen from this series. 0 combat, very little Disney... just endgame scenes of KH characters anime grunting and yelling about the light.
KH3 sold well from the long term hype and the excellent choice of properties (Toy Story, Frozen, Pirates), but Kingdom Hearts as a franchise is not guaranteed at all to keep growing unless they keep topping themselves with popular movies and characters. KH4's next trailer MUST have a big Disney reveal
There's still several games worth of huge movies that haven't been used, and KH3 showed with Pirates that an already used property can still go viralI mean Disney themselves aren't exactly putting out bangers like they used to.
Once we get past 2010s films we're kinda losin' luster.
I get what you’re saying but pretty sure that Disney has also received criticism for their movies in the 2000s era? Loved that era tho. But yeah, I heard Moana 2 was apparently bad enough that it was compared to direct-to-dvd sequels.I mean Disney themselves aren't exactly putting out bangers like they used to.

Moana 2 smashed sales expectations and had the highest grossing opening weekend for ANY animated film, ever. I didn't see it, and I'm not even big on the first Moana, but Moana is a big ass name and should probably be included in KH4.I get what you’re saying but pretty sure that Disney has also received criticism for their movies in the 2000s era? Moana 2 basically went big off of brand recognition. The movie was just a few episodes of a Moana Disney+ show mashed together.Moana 2 smashed sales expectations and had the highest grossing opening weekend for ANY animated film, ever. Between Star Wars, Moana, and Coco (which is popular to a lesser extent but still quite a cherished film), I'd say KH4 only needs one more super popular movie to be on the level with KH3's roster... and whatever that movie is, it should probably be seen soon, and have its own dedicated trailer like KH3's super length Toy Story trailer (the most viewed KH trailer ever made).
Of the movies that could get both kids and old heads interested, The Incredibles definitely comes to mind... as does a return to Toy Story.
True! Didn’t know that detail. Inside Out 2 also seemed to have made a lot of money. I’d say KH hasn’t really ran outta material to use to help attract more people.Moana 2 smashed sales expectations and had the highest grossing opening weekend for ANY animated film, ever. Nah, I'd say they've got two full titles worth of new stuff before they need to consider just doing older movies again... or praying that Disney starts putting out hitsTrue! Didn’t know that detail. i'm not entirely convinced that mere framerate trickery will make scenes look more like NBF, but I think the cutscenes could at least have moments that more accurately capture the motion of those films. fuckin shame that Ken Page passed away, Oogie is one of the few characters I just don't want to hear an impersonation of. (but they should still try)Since we're talking revisits to old movies, I'd love to see Halloween Town fully realized with an authentic claymation look. They could even hypothetically go the extra mile and mess with the framerate to make it even more accurate. I think the Spiderverse suit in one of the newer Spider-Man games has a unique property like that.
It's highly unlikely since we've exhausted storylines for that world but a man can dream.
You're right, my best guess is they would have to manually set the timing or frame exposure for the animations to get that effect, which would take a lot of work. The team would probably prefer to spend that much time and money elsewhere.i'm not entirely convinced that mere framerate trickery will make scenes look more like NBF, but I think the cutscenes could at least have moments that more accurately capture the motion of those films. fuckin shame that Ken Page passed away, Oogie is one of the few characters I just don't want to hear an impersonation of.
