kh2. Why isnt it popular

The only way for KH to become popular in America is that it would have to get rid of all the Disney and FF characters; have Sora say a swear word after every regular word; turn Destiny Island into a casino area; turn Kairi into a slut and have Sora rape or mistreat Kairi; make the game free roaming where all you do is buy clothes and blow cars up; make the main plot of the storyline be that Sora is trying to become top 'G' in the area; have the main villians be rival Gs and police; and if mix all that together, KH would be popular in America and would get an instant 9.5 from Gamespot.

That's how sad the gaming world has become.

for real dude. people from the age of 5-45 used to spend hours on the couch playing an 8-bit NES game with mario jumping out of pipes and THAT was what the world thought was the future in technology, THAT is what the world considered fun, THAT is the way games used to be....now look at the world...tsk tsk

Yep. The point I was trying to get across is that games with mindless violence, main characters who swear a lot and try to act bad***, and have some gangbanger storyline are more popular in America than good, solid games like KH. In the gaming realm of America, if it looks bad*** on the outside, it's cool. If it has something that looks like it would be light hearted, it's considered "gay'.

Me personally, I'd take KH over GTA any day of the week.

Kh2 is extremely popular....It went platuiman (spl?) in japan in only 3 days! I know thats because it is japan but as soon as it is released here you will see how popular it is....And just because it isn't in the 2006 MOST POPULAR GAMES doesn't mean it won't be as soon as it GETS OUT! lol

That is the stupidest thing I have ever placed my eyes on. You fail to realize how wrong you are. The MEDIA thinks that, yet no self respecting gamer things that. Grand Theft Auto aside every ganster-cop killer game has pretty much failed horribly. You say games with whole hearted intentions fail then what about the Katamari Series? Halo 2 is a huge hit and aside from the violence there isn't any cursing, molesting hookers or killing civilians. Kingdom Hearts is POPULAR. You would have to be an idiot to think otherwise. It made Greatest Hits, got great scores and reviews and is probably one of the few sequals that people would punch Jesus for. If you think a game has to be like GTA to be good by the gaming world then you have no clue how wrong you are.

I agree with Fred also because all that what King Sora_Strife said can ruin the greatest and most original story plot and would be so wrong that if they did that Kingdom Hearts rating will be from 9.8 out of 10 to -10 out of 10! GO katamari series!

Yes, I agree.I hate how people jude things and don't give it a chance. If anyone even saw the comercial they would be like, "wow that game looks pretty" And it is a beautiful game. And they put a lot of work into every aspect of the game. Not just the storyline, but the music the design, the character personality, the battle system, and just everything. The game is just so different, if people would just try it they would see that game just so amazing that I can't even give it an adjective. As soon as you start a new game you get a great feeling just watching the opening video.

From what I can tell, the disney charcaters have a slightly reduced role in kh2. The only area they seem to be less involved is, in kh there was the whole order of disney villans who were trying to control everything from behind the scenes, in kh2 youve just got the XIII order.

Well Inverted Silence, Pete is a villain and so is Hades. And i am sure that when KH2 hits stores in America, it will be on of the most opular games released in America during the whole year. And besides, that is one website who says KH2 isnt going to be popular, but many other sites say that KH2 is going to be really popular. In all of the things i have read, all of them had KH2 at the 20th most wanted game of 2006 or better.

I like to think that I'm a gamer who is a bit more open minded than that... I won't say that I hate GTA because of some of the things you said... On the contrary... I loved GTA!!! But you do have a point to some of the things you said... I think (on the Disney side) it's insecurity that's the problem... Believe it or not... Many guys would hate for people to find out that he's playing a game with Mickey Mouse in it... So they choose a game that would be considered "tough" and "cool"... I think it's sad that the American culture is this insecure... It really cries out to how much creativity and open-mindedness is left in our society... (as compared to other cultures) But I wouldn't really attack the rest of the gaming industry because of it though... It's the consumer that reads the book by its cover...

It IS popular. Have you not been reading the ratings it received? KH2 did extremely well. KH2 made Gamespy's top 20 games for 2006, Club Skill gave KingdomHearts 2 a 9.8 out of 10, KH2 got a 94% review from GameBrink.com. That, my dear, is success. If KH2 wasn't popular, there wouldn't be 26,040 members on this forum. xD

we may think it is a great game, but people, as onyxrhapsody87, said above, the ff haters and disney haters, made a bigg fuss, and they don't like the game, such as a minute amount of people hate ff games and zelda games, so they din't pose a threat, but when Disney and FF haters join it does so it may make a 10 on the top 10 list of hottest game for 2006

Kingdom Hearts has to face two types of haters... The Final Fantasy Haters and the Disney Haters... Together they create a huge reason as to why KH isn't seen as great as other games... Reviews would say other wise... But people also know Disney's less than honorable videogame past...

That's true, but don't forget that almost every FF and Disney fan loves it.Maybe that's why its sales were so high.Hell, it even outsold FFX!!!
