So KH UX and Dark Road are canon. The characters are canon, too.
But in the case of the customizable, playable Protagonist, exactly which gender is the "canon" gender? UX bills itself as "your" own keyblade story and allows the option to play as either a male or female character, as well as some character customization to roughly design the character after yourself. However, in the Kingdom Hearts X: Your Keyblade, Your Story novel, the Protagonist is canonically male, a member of the Anguis Union. And since UX ended and the final scenes of the story played out, I've been wondering...
What if the "canon" Protagonist isn't "you" or any female character you designed, but the male Protagonist?
Would KH really disrespect its female fanbase in favor of portraying a male Protagonist as the canon hero of UX instead of giving both equal billing?
