Thanks, I additionally also think that battle stances do depend to a certain degree on how your battle style is. Vanitas and Riku both use fast, aggressive styles and their blade held in that way at the beginning allows striking in any direction with any desired force.
The dark suit has either something to do with enhancing dark powers or it's a fetish of Xehanort...lol.
I finally found time to fully read it...it is really very enjoyable and the additional bits of thoughts and dialogue make the scenery much more intense in my head.
Terra's inner insecurity and craving for power, Aqua always worrying about them and unsure of her heart wavering and Ven the somewhat naive, but totally adorable and sweet cute muffin-kid.
Aww...why couldn't they have gone further into their characterization like this in the game?
Like with a bit like this:
“Basically, the way you do, Ven,” Terra answered, and Aqua felt her chest squeeze.
[I]Yeah, you could say Ven is our light.[/I]

Those are good points. I think, rather than battle stance, that dark suit is probably the biggest coincidence to have shared. I hope there's something cool in that. I remember how the Days novels did give us that hint about Snarl of Memories. I wonder if the BBS novels will have something like that? It's just... bleh lol

Chapter 3 now up!
I guess that's the upside to the novel format: you can go into character's thoughts much easier without forfeiting the flow of playability that games need. I love those moments too, which is why I love the novels :3

I've started working on the last KH2 novel, because apparently there are lots of cool scenes in there that flesh out the KH series timeline :3

These are the official novels written for the Kingdom Hearts-Series, available for purchase only in Japan.
What goldpanner does is translating these to English because there aren't any official translations for them.

Yeah, I have a very good friend who has been wishing she knew how the last Kh2 novel went for years, so I decided to help her out! And another very good friend gifted me a copy of the novel, so I could! I have so many lovely friends...
I am definitely going to do the BBS novels after this, though, because I can tell how many people want to read them, lol. Thank you for your patience~

I REMEMBER READING THIS PART! *squee* I wish there was some actual Axel/Pluto interaction in the games, besides that little bit in KH2 when Pluto saw him in the city and tried to follow him. They were just so cute and funny in the novels with Pluto following him everywhere.
I also love how Olette was looking forward to having a close girl friend in Kairi (Wow, even the CHARACTERS have noticed the lack of close girl friendships in this game...) and that Sora & co. were mourning Axel's death after it happened. The first time I played through KH2, I didn't really care because I wanted to see Sora reunite with Riku and Kairi. But now it feels awkward because one minute, Sora looks depressed, and then the next it's, "Okay guys, let's go!"

I definitely plan to! It's just that I don't own them yet, but I do own all the BBS novels. So if I get the DDD novels they will definitely boost in priority :3
I know, me too! It's kinda surreal having the 4th one in my hands. I don't think I've seen much from this book at all!
Yeah ;__; There's lots more of every kind of interaction in the novels... that's my favourite part! Especially the stuff between Namine, Axel and Riku.
Right -___- Might have something to do with this novel being written by a lady... When this book came out, I am pretty sure there hadn't been a single female writer for KH. As far as I know, Ishida was the first lady, working on Days and Coded, and then of course Kanemaki on Days too. And that's it! And ladies like us notice that stuff, not sure dudes do, lol...
I mean I do think that the game is really great in that it shows affectionate, emotionally open male relationships, which are rare too. But... why can't we also have girls... :c
I was the opposite ;___; I wanted more mention of his death... I find the parallels between Riku and Axel very sad, so when Riku had his happy ending moments all I could think about was how it came at the cost of Axel's. And Axel's would have come at the cost of Riku's. Only one could have been happy and we knew all along it would never be the Nobody. And then Roxas and Namine smiling at the end with not even a shadow of mention of Axel as if they got happy endings with him dead ahh ;__; I know pretty much every game since then has been about how to fix that but the first time I played through it hurt!!

I remember this from back in 2006. The novels may not have any background music, but your translations bring it to life again.

If you want to buy them yourself, they are available on amazon.jp. If you want to read a fan translation online, I don't know of anyone who has done a lot. This is the only person I know who has done any, and they didn't get very far :c
Actually, there is this person! He is a friend of mine who has said he is going to do the KH1 novels someday, though he hasn't started yet. So you could keep an eye on him!
