KH: FM+ Secret video: past or Present

Nomura says you can think it's in the future. That doesn't literally mean it does.

I think what he means its like a flash back that is showing what happen in the past aleast i think.

What does this even mean??? All of the past is connected to the future, I know that, because the past has to happen for there to be a present and a future! And what's your argument for it taking place in the past?

It means, the game takes place in the past, but the events could also take place in the future.
Nomura said so himself.

The Secret Ending took place in the past, yet it shows elements that could connect it torwards future games in the series. We all know that a new series involving some of the things we have seen in the videos, but so far they are just concepts of what actually might happen.

But as this new series develops, it will connect the past of the Keyblade, Xehanort, and many other things to the current Kingdom Hearts series and that was sort of mentioned by Nomura in some of his interivews. With that being said, its possible that in the distant future, Sora's primary role as main character may pick up again after everything has been built back up.

Remeber Kingdom Hearts has everything to do with Sora, although he might not be directly involve with this series, eventually it will all have to connect to Sora being the Keyblade wielder and his primary story will have to extend. But that is my take on this subject.

Alright, well, popular opinion seems to be that the video is set in the past. However, here is one argument that I would like to raise before I give in completely to the idea of it being in the past...

My argument: Riku's Way to Dawn keyblade is futured in the first secret video. That keyblade, in my opinion, didn't just come to him, like, say Sora's Kingdom Key. I think it sort've...evolved (for lack of a better word) with Riku as he grew. I say this because in CoM, before the events of KHII, Riku used a slightly different looking keyblade, one that was completely demonic looking/evil looking/dark looking etc. Then, at the end of CoM, as he came to the realization that he could walk the paths of darkness and light (if my memory is correct), his keyblade (I believe) changed into the Way to Dawn we saw in KHII.

Now, this is complete theory, but I find it still plausible, considering how little we know about keyblades, why shouldn't it be contemplated? I mean, how much do we really know about keyblades?

but in KH:Com he didn't have a keyblade he had the Souleater (I think thats the name) and he didn't get the keyblade intill about the end of KH2
