KH 3DS - Confirmed

So when Nomura said that there would be two more kh games before 3, were these the 2 he was talking about? Re:coded and kh 3d. I can see 3D for sure as one of the new games, but I hope he isnt counting re:coded as one of them.

its one of the games. he never said he was working on two games, he said "two projects". one of which he was going to release later this year (re:coded is coming out in fall) and another to release the next year on (KH3D)

KH for the 3DS sounds pretty cool, but I hope it actually has relevance to the storyline and we get to ply as someone other than Sora. Does anyone know when the 3DS is being released? And is KH: 3D just a tentative title?

We still don't know anything about that KH game that will connect everything together, do we? Or is this it?

And I still wonder about the size of the cartridge o:

2GB at launch, and will grow bigger over time.

I agree if its only 2GB I wonder how long the game will be?

BBS was 1.8 GB and it was rather big...

I don't know whether too take Nomura's tight lipness as his usual crap or whether or not this game will be just as important as the main series.

Blesphamy. As said before, he was co-scenario writer for KH1 along with Nojima in his glory days and Jin Akiyama, and was responsible for the writing in both CoM and Re:CoM which many of us consider to have been the best game in that aspect. He also wrote scenarios for Days and Coded (from what i remember at least).

Kanemaki and Nomura wrote the scenario for Days. it wasn't said who wrote codeds..

Or how about he still has no idea what to make of it as Nintendo just bugged him about making a game for the 3DS xD;

seeing as how this is the mystery game he's been talkin aboot since last year, i doubt it.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if this is part of why a big installment on a main console is stalling, because they're waiting for things to clear out with Sony first.

I think that "KH 3D" could be that game where it'll be release (along with Re:coded) around 2010, and it features Sora & one other important character, which is Riku. So that's just leave 2 more games, one for 2011 with multiple characters (maybe SRK, RAX, N & TAV) and Kingdom Hearts III.

Well if i neglect the fact that there's no single real hint to the plot or when this story takes place, i'm actually looking forward to it, especially after looking up what the N3DS can do and what it looks like. Hope we'll get more information on it. So I hope they don't neglect Kairi again...

Nintendo's been working on the technology since 2001. Seeing how many companies and franchises they already have up their sleeve with games intended for the 3DS, I think it's close to certain that Nintendo came to SE and told them they wanted a KH game for the 3DS, so they can brag about it upon launch. It was, after all, the biggest logo out of the franchises SE displayed for the 3DS in Nintendo's conference, after all.
So Nomura talking about it since last year doesn't contradict Nintendo most likely bugged him about it; it's just that due to the console's nature, he had a good long while to think about it.
Then again, he also worked on Days for a good while so iono xD;

The fact we even get to see Riku running around like that while being even a temporary focus of attention is already promising.

From the screenshots it looks like you can play as Riku as well.

Sora and Riku look younger, yet it seems that Sora is fighting the Twilight Thorn in Traverse Town. Because of the Twilight Thorn and the younger Sora, I'm not even sure what time this takes place in. It seems like there are two options for this:

1. This takes place in Sora's heart when Namine is messing with Sora's memories, since the timeline seems all screwed up.
2. Something similar to Merlin's time traveling door happened, so now Sora and Riku have to fix the timeline before the Hearts get all messed up from a paradox. That would explain the Xemnas-like secret boss in the BBS English trailer.

kh doesnt really need more time travel...
time travel is pretty much just a giant retcon anyway... it would be like a reset button and make the other games pointless.

I really don't want time travel. The idea's becoming cliche' (although I like how it was done in Star Trek)

I remember Grass made an excellent theory on a thread (can't remember which) on the game being Sora and Riku searching memories in their hearts so they can Remember RXA and TAV and possibly heal their torment.

I fail to see why the Twilight Thorn contradicts anything.
Sora canonly fought Xemnas in the first Final Mix but it was never mentioned on his part. There's nothing saying Sora couldn't have, at one point, ran into a Twilight Thorn albeit under retcon circumstances, much like how originally, he "didn't" fight Xemnas in the first KH.
Hell, this might be an interesting thing to retcon seeing how in KH2, when Sora first saw the Dusks, he stared at the emblem on their "faces". It might be retconned to him finding it to be familiar.

2) that doesn't contradict it having importance in the long run. I didn't spoil myself but they do give importance to "Sleep" - you dream when you sleep and all that, tee hee.

2. it doesnt get much 'dreamer' when theres soras raining.
