Sora is neither a Master or Apprentice

To be an apprentice you need to be studying under someone else.

Master is a title in which has yet to be fully explained yet. In KH1 he was refered to as a Keyblade Master but that was only a false claim as no one really knew anything about the blade at that point in time. In KH2 they put more emphasis on calling Sora a Keyblade Wielder because the Organization seems to know more then they are saying and seem to know that Sora is nothing like the Wielder/Masters from before his time

At the end of time, listening to the drums...
Couldn't have said it better Vice, except I will add that one or two Org members (Xigbar for instance) seem as if they have actual Memories of former keyblade wielders. Aside from that, Masters and Apprentices seem to be oddball terms that have yet to be explained. And in addition to VAT, Mickey was also an apprentice at one point, so it's possible that He knows more than he's letting on.

my guess is sora is a master because he was never an apprentice, riku is a master because he basically seems to have done all the apprentice stuff to earn WtD and mickey was an apprentice and is now a master.

Seeing how Yen Sid was Mickey's Master, and he lacks a Keyblade as far as we know, I'm highly doubtful about a "Master"'s need in an actual Keyblade. Plus, Nomura said that what the Masters taught their apprentices was their spirit, so arguably they were teaching them Strength of Heart - which is needed to Master the Keyblade, but isn't limited just to that.
That leaves us with another definition for Master, being someone that is strong enough to use the Keyblade in a certain way.

Personally, I still call Sora and Riku Keyblade Masters, at least until Keychains are explained in a way that kills any possibility for the claim that "having a Keychain = Keyblade Master".

As for the Lingering Sentiment in FM+
1) non canon. Don't base that much on him, especially not his abilities in combat. Even if we say him being there is somewhat canonized by Nomura referencing what he said, the battle is certainly not-canon until further notice.
2) It's probably not really Terra, so we further can't compare him to anything.

i tihnk its the strength of your heart not the strength in your abilities and stuff like that.

so if you have a strong enough heart you are capable of being master

Well at the very least you can be a wielder, not so much as being considered a master on the spot.

Pretty much like Sora, and Riku right? Since they didn't study under a master they were self taught, and by experiences to use the keyblade.

Not necesarilly. You can say every Master was once a rookie, but that doesn't mean that he studied under someone. The very first Master ever would've had no one to teach the art to him - he had to learn it on his own.

Unless of course the Original Master is in fact the creator of the Keyblade and already knows it's full intentions and functions.

Sora's neither.

Considering the Yen Sid master thing, How do we know he doesn't have a Keyblade? For all we know he does. Nobody ever said he didn't have a Keyblade.
