just gonna throw this theory out there see what comes of it (Spoilers)

I dont do to many theories pertaining to kingdom hearts but it be kind of fun to look back to this thread 25 years from now when kingdom hearts 4 is out and be like ha i called it.

There are several Parts in the game pertaining to Saix and Axel where they talk about becoming apprentices to Ansem The Wise just to save a girl, this is also hinted at by Ansem (Xehonorts Heartless.) Well after watching the final Cut scene where the For tellers show up, and How Nonchalant Xigbar(Luxu) is about Ava Missing. It Made me come up with the Idea that the missing Girl that Axel and Saix tried to save was Ava. After all in Game they said Ansem the wise immediately stopped his experiments after he experimented on this girl, and considering it would be a kind of a faux Pas just to introduce a new random character to save. I dont think theyde mention this three or four times in the game as a red herring and have nothing come of it

It's Skuld.

The secret reports mentions that this girl is one of others that splintered through time. Ava is aligned with The Fortellers, and they clearly have not splintered through time. Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, Larxene and Ventus have splintered through time as they all originate from The Age of Fairy Tales.

But the more important factor here is Xion. Random for me to say, but knowing Nomura, he will have a lore reason as to why Xion was imagined as a brunette. When Ventus heart was inside Roxas, faint memories of Skuld from Ventus may have been retained, and with Axel, he may have projected the girl that he and Saix tried to save onto Xion.

Finally, the girl is reffered to as Subject X. Xion was originally designed as No. I, and if you add the X, and you get Xion. Coincidence? Not anymore.

Ava is a Keyblade Master, I highly doubt that she would be thrown into another worldline. Skuld, on the other hand, is just a regular Keyblade wielder.

Unless it's a new character, the options are easily discernable.

The secret reports all but confirm that she is from The Age of Fairy Tales, aka, the X era. In that era, we have four key young female characters, Master Ava, Skuld, Strelitzia and Elrena.

It cannot be Strelitzia because she's dead (and a lot of hints point towards her being one of the stars in The Final World), it cannot be Elrena because Ansem, Seeker of Darkness was looking for the girl whilst Larxene returned with The Seekers of Darkness.

So that leaves Ava and Skuld. Ava did disappear, but we do not know why, and the way that Luxu describes what Ava is doing in the epilogue does not line up with the role of Subject X, because we do not know what Subject X is doing.

Hence why it is Skuld, unless new updates prove otherwise.

What is even Skuld's purpose in the story? I don't remeber her doing anything important. But that's probably just me.
