That's just how Nomura designs them.

However, yellow eyes, on the other hand, tend to be a sign of darkness.

Its just how it is, and its how they are made. Besides, eyes in KH have no real significance unless they are yellowish-orange eyes. Which like Cissy said, are a sign of darkness, normally from what we know.

It might also means no Mexicans in KH, hence the fact that Brown is no longer the greastest population of eyes.

White people have blue eyes. Alot of them at least, just like most black people have brown eyes. Its just easier to make a character with a comon eye color. If their eyes were a different color, that would have to signify something. Blue is a generic eye color.

Actually, Blue is a recessive eye color gene, so no, people having blue eyes left and right in KH is probably Nomura's way of trying to make his characters be "Westernly colored and thus awesome". Alternatively, it's to show a contradiction to the yellow eyes, especially since that kind of blue is not natural (and neither is Riku's aquamarine but that could just tie in with the rest of it). Look at the SoNami tag in my sig - that is not the kind of blue you see in people's eyes.

also if you wanted to get extra technical

blue - the colour for calm and peace

yellow/orange - the colour for hostile and aggression.

Even more technical characters who play double agent tend to have green eyes. Axel, Vexen, Riku...

I was just thinking that, and Larxene has those too. Though Axel and Riku are closer to aquamarine, which may be a mixture. Green's connected to envy, and Riku and Axel definitely envy Sora and Roxas (and you could sort of say that Larxene and Vexen were envious of...Xemnas?).

But then, Xaldin, Lexaeus, and Marluxia also have blue eyes (NO, Xaldin's are very clearly NOT violet), and Luxord, Demyx, and Zexion have like a light blue or aquamarine.

Maybe we're overanalyzing this. o_O

tht was exactly wot i was thinking a few days ago! ...apart from a few characters like ollette, the main ones all have blue eyes :s
maybe it has a connection, then again maybe the person who designed them had a just had a fetish for blue eyes =)

o.o;
I've yet to discover whether or not contact lenses exist in the KH universe.

Well, sure. Why not? Don't some characters have glasses... wait. Didn't Jiminy Cricket have glasses in the movie, but not in KH?
They have computers that convert your body to data and transfer the data into said computers, I'm sure contact lenses aren't completely out of the question.

But... why would Riku need contact lenses to begin with? :/
Oh, wait, I just realized I don't care, because it's irrelevant. Never-mind.

Sure 'real' science hardly active though out the series, but contact lenses seem plauseable, I mean Demyx's eyes CANNOT be that shade of bright turquise with out contact lenses, nor can Axel's or Riku's!

just a random thought: Maybe Riku wears contact lenses, thats why his eyes are that colour!

No. Because Riku is clearly perfect and doesn't require them. (Most KH characters are like that.)

Besides, if he did, that would be a LONG time to be keeping contact lenses in. I didn't see him carrying a contact case when he left, and his eyes have been aquamarine for at least a year. Tying a blindfold around them and making it impossible to blink? Visual suicide. They'd get dried out, infected, and turn pink and pus-filled.

Not to mention even if he did wear contacts I'm not sure why he'd make them aquamarine.

Yes they can, if Sora's, Roxas's, Namine's, Kairi's, Xion's, Marluxia's, Xaldin's, and Lexaeus's can be that neon blue.

I dont think comments like that need to be addressed. Its dumb. Why would a video game character need contacts? If the makers of the game want to signify that the character has bad eyesight, they'd just give him glasses. That simple.
