The next game has got to be Kingdom Hearts III. He said there was a hint at the next project in the end of KH3D and: (Doesn't Spoil anything about the story, so its okay to look, I just put it in spoiler tags to be safe)

Of course there will probably be an HD collection before that. But I have a question, does anyone know how long it usually takes to get an HD collection made?
I have to say I kind of wish I didn't click on the spoiler, but it wasn't storyline-related so you were right. However, I just soiled myself when I read it -__-
I agree, I'm not a 360 fan, although at this point in time, I kind of think a 360 version would be smart on SE's choice. I KNOW KH ORIGINATED ON PLAYSTATION AND ALL THAT JAZZ, no need to get harangued by people stating the obvious, but for financial reasons, since the 360 is pretty popular in the US, it would be in the best interests of both SE and the KH series if it were ported, at least for US audiences.
I think they'll have to come up with some concept like you outlined. There are going to be 7 games to cover and compact into one HD remaster in preparation for the game (releasing all the games in 2 sets would make too many games to play, casual fans don't have the patience to play through 7 KH games in the course of 2 years). I honestly think 4 is pushing it, which means they'd probably cut out either CoM or BbS. Honestly, even though they made Re:CoM, I think they'd probably remaster BbS instead because Nomura would view that as more paramount to the overall story. I could see them doing a cutscene recap of what happens during CoM, Days, Coded, and DDD though.
Smart? I don't really know if I look at FF XIII for example since I heard how much they had to cut out of the game in order to fit it on XBox and then it was also still inferior to the PS-Version quality-wise and sales lacked in comparison to PS as well.
For KH there would also be the question if the financial effort on Square's side would even be worth it since XBox seems to be mostly about Ego Shooter-crap and more multiplayer oriented titles.
I'm not a business expert but I would still doubt if the investment would be worth it on Square's side regarding a big enough audience.
Thanks, but I actually doubt Nomura would gear the HD remaster mainly just towards casual fans, not to mention that if you don't go towards completing reports the games can be played through rather fast.
I included Re: CoM mainly because of self-interest I admit since we in Europe never got it, unlike the pampered US-fanbase.;P
In terms of the story importance of BBS I would have to agree though since it's basically the unofficial KH0, however CoM's events have an impact that sends tremors through the whole series in terms of importance since the messing around with Sora's memories caused very much mess, misery and suffering throughout and to several characters.
Still, as you said, for CoM the cutscenes alone would probably suffice.

If they're going to do an HD collection for the sake of updating people, they're going to have to included KH3D because KH3D sets up the plot for KH3. Trust me i've spoiled myself and know the story, people will have to play KH3D to understand KH3, it pretty much explains the basic plot of KH3.
What he means by "spread over many consoles" is that Kingdom Hearts has had a lot of titles over a variety of different platforms. PS2, GBA, PSP, DS, 3DS, etc. And so with the possibility of a HD remaster, it seems he would consider gravitating towards one platform to do it on.
It's also not necessarily true that Nomura has a Sony bias -- he might but I wouldn't go so far as to say he hates Microsoft consoles. Anyone in the director's chair would be more comfortable designing for one platform, given that making multi-platform games can stall development or you may have to make concessions here and there based on different limitations.

It's not really logical to do that and there's no reason for including 3D. A collection would definitely not contain all of the games, if there was even going to be a collection. It seems more sensible to either just release KH1 HD on its own, or just to package the Sony KH games together. If that were done it could easily intrigue new fans and gain new interest for 3D.

I suppose that is true, but they would have to release and HD collection soon to gain the maximum amount of interest an HD collection could get for KH3D.

Not really. Even if they released an HD collection in 2013 it could easily garner attention for 3D. People would finish the collection looking for the "next thing" and there would be 3D, accessible on a console that would also allow them to play Days and Re:Coded.

Whether a system is popular is important only insofar as the people it's popular with are the demographic you're looking for. As far as Squenix is concerned, it doesn't matter how many people have Xboxes if most Xbox owners aren't interested in JRPGs.
If the HD collection is going to be multiplatform, I'd prefer they went the FFX route and made Vita the second platform. Portability is rather nice to have, and the small screen would make the overall image quality seem a lot higher. Plus, there might actually be people who'd be interested in both, whereas two separate console versions would never gain that kind of interest.
Xbox is pretty popular in North America but I don't think it has that much traction at all in Japan. If we end up getting a multiplatform HD collection, I think it's safe to say that it would follow the route of FFXIII (having it be PS3 only in Japan and multiplat in NA/EU).
About the Xbox JRPG situation, I think that the Disney brand has enough selling power that (at least in the West) it could get Xbox owners to try it out. I'm focusing on them because other than Tales of Vesperia, FFXIII and Infinite Undiscovery(?), I can't think of any JRPGs on that console. When Tales of Vesperia launched on Xbox in Japan, it moved a lot of 360s off the shelves, I wouldn't doubt that KH could do that too.
I personally don't care what console KH3 or any other KH game is on as long as it doesn't end up being iOS since I don't have faith that an action RPG would play well on a touch screen (I'll still end up playing it though, I guess </hypocrite>). Then again, if it's designed to work with one, how could it not play well, right?

I keep hearing there's a Nomura interview where he said he didn't like the Vita, or said he liked the 3DS more.

If an HD Collection came out multiplat, KH3 would pretty much have to be too, since that's what an HD Collection would hype up. And that's not a problem, more consoles = larger audience = more fans = more money for SE and Disney. But, that'd probably stall development time by quite a while, and then the 360 version probably lose content anyways. KH is also known to sell hardware, so more PS3's would probably sell for the sole purpose of playing KH. So, there's not much reason to do it.

A possibility, but a really sucky one. No offense. Even as an iPhone owner I don't think many would want to see TWEWY on iOS (or even Android) devices. Not something like a highly-demanded sequel, at least.
I think the idea would be to get it on to the systems with the biggest userbase and have them stay there for awhile.
I see the multiple handheld devices. But I don't see normura going multi with the main titles. Sticking with PS3 hopefully
