Istanbul airport explosions: 36 dead, 147 injured, Turkish officials say - CNN.com

So unfortunately there was another attack in the world. This time in Istanbul, Turkey

Gunshots, screams and explosions pierced the air Tuesday as three terrorists armed with bombs and guns killed at least 36 people at Istanbul Ataturk Airport in Turkey. Witnesses described deadly carnage and crowds in a panic as the attackers struck one of the world's busiest airports.

At least 36 people were killed, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said. An additional 147 people were wounded, Turkey's Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said.

Some people have already lost it and are creating riots and protests. Some but not many. When will people start looking at the attacks that's happening this month and finally say, "This is a problem, we need to do SOMETHING"?

like what? everyone knows this is fucked up but its not like there's a magic button to make everybody hold fucking hands, or cause every terrorist organization to throw down their arms and surrender.

these attacks are commonplace, they aren't just monthly, or weekly. they're something that happens all the time. we can all act shocked and say "this is wrong!!!" before going about our regular business but its just masturbatory; so we can say we did our part.

fuck each and every one of them.

A horribly unfortunate event. It's hardly comprehensible as to why some people would resort to murder to express their thoughts.
And even more of a shame that what we 'people' can do is pathetically limited, like darknado said. Most people who really have the power to do something about this are probably busy with something else or truly don't care.

Are they really giving the ISIS weapons? I thought the word that Turkey is providing ISIS with funds and weapons was just a rumor.

While there isn't any evidence for elements of the Turkish government, especially the cronies around choleric wannabe-Sultan Erdogan actively supporting the IS in any form there are hints towards them deliberately turning a blind eye to IS recruiters and passage of supplies to them in the past months (they also joined the Anti-IS coalition rather late), thus allowing them to continue to grow and being a threat.

Word is that this is/was done primarily in order to weaken and work against the Kurdish units fighting IS in Northern Syria as there are few things that Turkey's government would resent more than an independent Kurdish state/nation directly at their doorstep.

However, the IS is right now experiencing losses and defeats on several different fronts with the Iraqi army supported by volunteer militia and western-led airstrikes retaking several key locations, the Kurdish fighters continuing to hold up pressure from the north and the Assad regime supported by Russia having also beaten back the IS in Syria.
This means they have to intensify their terror attacks in order to still project "strength" and diffuse any notions of their "caliphate" being in trouble.
A secondary objective is of course also yet again Propaganda value and the hope to encourage imitators and more recruits for terror attacks worldwide.

It really does sicken me to see things like this happen. The sad thing out of all of it, is that there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.
