Is Vanitas's Keyblade real?

The title asks it all.

Would Vanitas's keyblade be consisted a true Keyblade, or a fake one? Vanitas has no light inside his heart, as he is the entirety of darkness from Ven. So, would a Keyblade from the Realm of Light work for him, as all the Keyblades, besides Mickey's Reverse Kingdom Key, has been from the Realm of Light.

Even Master Xehanort had some form of light in his heart, however small, which would allow him to use a Keyblade. No one with absolute darkness in their heart has ever been seen using a keyblade.

So, is it a sham? Or a real one?

you dont need light in order to wield keyblades, there have been keyblades from darknes, and light and from ones heart.

No it is not a sham. To wield the Keyblade, all you have to have is a strong heart.

i remember reading somewhere that Vanitas, being half of Ven, was also affected when Ven connected his heart with Sora. Not only did it complete his heart, but it also caused his resemblance to Sora.

And like what everyone else said, all you need to wield a Keyblade is a strong heart.

Ok listen....one just needs to have a strong heart to wield the keyblade. Vanitas has a strong heart of darkness thats all. Hi keyblade is as real as Roxas' keyblades if you need comparison since they are both being created from a whole. And i doubt MX had any light left in him during BBS but you have to remember a very important event.....the KeybladeWar. In the war wielder from LIGHT and DARKNESS fought to create the X-blade. This would intell that wielders of both sides could use the keyblade.

Also Sorakun12 your facts are wrong. Darkside, or Inverse KingdomKey, is a keyblade from the Realm of Darkness not from the RoL. Mickey, however being a keyblade master, can use it for RoL. Its part of the internal and external keyblade system Nomura spoke about in his Director's Reports (look it up and you will understand)

If you look up the translation of the Xehanort reports (BBS reports written by MX) it says that there are three basic types of keyblades. Keyblades of pure light, Keyblades of pure darkness, and Keyblades of one's heart.

Vanitas is a being of pure darkness. Therefore, his Keyblade is a Keyblade of darkness. So yes, it is real.

By the way, does anyone else know if there's a relationship between the blue eyes on Vanitas's keyblade, MX's keyblade, Riku's soul eater, and Riku's way to dawn? Or do the eyes just symbolize darkness?

But, as for your question, I'm not really sure. The connection between Riku, Vanitas, and possible MX has not been said yet. We will most likely know more info with the release of the BBS Ultimania.
