Is Marluxia More Powerful than Lexeaus?

Although Nomura said the most powerful Organization XIII members are Xemnas, Xaldin, and Lexeaus, I think CoM may present something different.

In Riku's story, Riku is amazed when he senses Marluxia's death. He states, "One of the scents has died, a really strong one."

What do you think? In your book, does this scene imply Marluxia was more powerful than Lexeaus?

Hmmm... I could've sworn the Ultimanias established Xemnas, Roxas and Marluxia as the most powerful Nobodies.

Given that Marluxia was a final boss while Lexaeus was not quite a midgame boss... yeah.

Nomura could've meant in terms of sheer physical strength when he was talking about Xaldin, Lexaeus, and Xemnas. Remember that the first two were castle guards in their past lives, while Xemnas is technically Terra's body, who was known for his brute strength.

However, physical strength might not mean as much in terms of overall power when a character can be bolstered by magical weapons or abilities. Perhaps if you zeroed out all the magic and stuff, Marluxia would lose against Lexaeus in a battle of sheer strength. Buuut since that doesn't happen and the dude's got all those Doom/death powers, he's more well-rounded than Lexaeus, who pretty much relies on physical force for everything, even his elemental attacks.

Marluxia was an endgame boss in a Japanese game, which means of course its going to be dragged over multiple fights which each one getting more and more dangerous. But as for answering which is more powerful is silly. Both are grown men with control over some aspect of magic and both formidable opponents. But don't let gameplay elements confuse you if you must seek out the answer. Lexaeus's power meter in Kingdom Hearts II and Marluxia's Death Counter in the same game should be ignored. They make the battle interesting for the player. Sora has to be able to block, dodge, or counter their attacks because even though Sora isn't the strongest he has a strong heart and powers his way to victory. Going off track.

It should be noted that Marluxia avoided the straight fight with Axel in re:com because Marluxia is a man of deceit; he only fights if he has to. He had Axel, Namine, and Larxene do his work for him. He also uses the power of the castle to help fight Sora. He works smart, not hard.

Lexaeus on the other hand is the only member in the organization to defeat their opponent. Lexaeus knocked riku out cold in re:com. But Ansem, whose power is similar to Xemnas's, showed up thanks to this development and reminded us how powerful Xehanort is, even split apart. Even a disappearing Lexaeus admits his mistake.

My conclusion? Xemnas is powerful. roxas will be just as powerful. The rest don't matter, you win some you lose some.

I'm pretty sure it's implied Marluxia's boss battle was enhanced by the power of the castle and that his base power is comparable to Axel.
