Ice Titan - What do?

Ok so I got to the Ice Titan with not too much hassle. I tried him once just to see what he was like and... yeah, he beat my ass pretty hard. So I went off to train for a while, and came back at level 68. I have the Divine Rose keychain, Golem Chain and Omega Arts. The first 10 minutes are fine. A little tough, but fine. But when I get him down to yellow health... I just don't know how anyone could get past this.

He starts doing the stomping move where ice-balls spawn above you. And that's literally 3/4 of the attacks he ever does. I can't find an opening. As soon as he stops that, he does the same move or another move. He rarely shoots out the small icicles to deflect, and even when he does, the ice-ball blocks the guard or just hits me.

I honestly don't know what to do. I know that it's harder to deflect stuff with the Divine Rose, but even if I had a better keyblade, there's literally no opening to attack him. Someone shed some light on this... "boss"?

All help appreciated.

Hm... I remember from when I played this just a few days ago, that he would launch the icicles simultaneously with the boulders. Simply block one boulder (but you'll stagger, pay no mind to that) then block again. You'll hit some icicles back, but also be staggered thanks to the next boulder. Just keep up with that and you should be able to get in some damage. If that doesn't work for you, then there's of course always the tactic of getting high up, jumping, and using Fire spells, but that requires a lot of Ethers/Elixirs...

I would try equipping a Keyblade with more magic slots. Use Aeroga a lot. Does he get hurt by Fire? If so, cast Fire on his frosty @$$! X3

The boulders would interrupt the magic wouldn't they? Also if I block a boulder, as soon as I get out of the stagger animation a icicle is already hitting me. I don't know if I'd have the time to block.

From my memory of like 7 years ago, just stand on the seats and block your butt off and you should win. I never had a lot of difficulty with him.

Yeah, pretty much just keep blocking like crazy. You'll hit some icicles back, but just a few. It all adds up though.

Well, I've never fought him, myself. I WILL be, tho. I just think Firaga would hurt him quite a bit cuz he's Frosty the SnowmanTITAN, but he could be totally immune to magic for all I know. I was just hoping a simplistic opinion might help...=/

Oh well that explains your previous comment A word of advice: do NOT use Aeroga. It actually makes his icicles impossible to deflect and therefore makes him impossible to defeat. Fire does hurt him, but deflecting his icicles is the best thing to do.

That's what I've been doing until it gets to yellow. Once the boulders start coming down, they interrupt every block. Also every single attack he does depletes half of my health. Even the tiny icicles.

NEVER cast Aero magic. The little spears only come to you when you don't have Aero in use.
Just block those smaller ones like everyone else said, maybe equip Ragnarok if you have it and any/all air combo pluses.

What I did when the boulders came down was to go into the seats (though you should be there the entire time) and just after the last boulder comes down deflect the icicles he shoots at you, those are always easy to deflect.

As everyone else had said, leave Aero out of this fight. And to make him shoot the icicles, you have to be right in front of him, otherwise he'll just keep turning and turning around in an attempt to get tou in his field of vision and summon the ice bombs. If you're feeling lucky, you can try to find an opening between the bombs to deflect the icicles he throws when stomping around, although you'd probably get hit.

Now when you're already in front of him, he would usually shoot out three waves of icicles with one swipe of his hand. The first wave consists of three small icicles that converge toward you, while the second and third, five of them. The first one is a feint - don't block this wave. Instead, avoid them, and when the second wave of icicles is about to hit, deflect them. This way you'll be able to deflect the third wave as well and there's at least 240 tech points for you and some damage for him.

After this, quickly move to the side since he would most likely use his wide-area freezing beam attack. If you get caught, chances are you'll be frozen twice in a row and that won't be fun. After the coast is clear, position yourself in front of him again and repeat the process. Eventually he'll fall down to his knees again and you're free to whack his head. It's also a great idea to use Ragnarok for the homing beams.

Good luck! The Ice Titan, in my opinion, is one of the most fun optional bosses to take on, and he gives out a lot, and I mean a lot, of tech points.

EDIT: It's advisable to equip accessories that reduce ice damage by 40% if you have them. One of them is Shiva Belt, which you can obtain by putting out the brazier flames at the Coliseum Gates with Blizzaga. This will be in a chest that appears at the far end of the square.

THIS^^^^ You should NEVER use aero magic with the ice titan all it does is cause him to use attacks that can't be deflected and double damage.

As for openings, their there you just have to be quick enough. Equip a keyblade to give you plenty of magic and when he does through the small ice cycles at you deflect them.
There's not really no way to avoid getting hit by the yellow bar point.

His frost breath is actually rather easy to avoid if you go up the stands far enough, more problematic can be the frost wave he can conjure with his hands when his HP gets low, as that one can freeze you twice and cost a big chunk of health.
The most annoying attack though has to be his iceballs raining from above because they stagger you if you block them, preventing you from deflecting further icicles.

All in all though, I'd say that the Ice Titan is the easiest out of all five secret bosses (and if you have Tech plus equipped an ideal source for EXP). ^__^
