Relax on your effects. Make your foreground and background distinct, not a big heaping cluttery mess.
Try new things with stock placement. You seem to like shoving them into the corner/side and putting the text in a huge size to compensate for lost space. Trust me when I say this: negative/white space is very good if you learn how to utilize it.
Clean your type. Not everything needs it, either.
That's really all I have to say. Look up some tuts too, lots to learn on that thar web when it comes to artsy fartsy stuffs.
