Wow the amazement of this thread. At least it's something interesting to actually post.

My view on the matter is that the series as a whole doesn't need a reboot, but a few things need to be redone, although it's too late now....lulz

KH was what peaked everyone's (those who liked it) interest. The themes of light and dark were made very clear, and the plot of the game was pretty point blank. The emotion of the game was great, from Sora stabbing himself to save Kairi, to Riku sacrificing himself to close the door to KH. The enemies put their tastes into the game while the true enemy lurked in the sidelines. The heartless presented a threat to worlds, and were even at some point a bit scary (i'll admit, i was creeped out when i saw that first Darkside). The magic put into the first KH was great, and the level of difficulty made it challenging for a kiddy game really.

CoM definately made a difference, but the idea of nobodies left ppl a bit confused. Namine was the oddball of the game, and, F**** it!!! I mean c'mon CoM was basically KH all over again except for the bit of storyline with the organization. That bit of story was great, but i mean we just went back to everything we did (besides Tarzans world, LOL)

KH2.........can you guess

It was fun, but the originality from the first was somewhat gone. The things needed answered were left with more questions, and Nomura kept trying to cover up his mistakes with interviews, Another Report, and then another KH2FM+.

You can like a game and still criticize what you find as flaws which i laugh at from those who keep saying "if you dont like the game then stop playing" please shut the hell up, its called opinions and ideas, we all have them.

For the one commenting on age, username starts with a K,( i think), Age is such an easy target for criticism isn't it. Those who like to use it might wanna plan on maturing themselves. Its like telling someone "because youre this age now your not allowed to be interested in this anymore" again shut the hell up, ppl have interests no matter what age they are, and a lot of adults still watch Disney considering KH is made up with the classics.

Personally if KH was to reboot the ideas set by Nomura it would have been made a lot more clear seeing as Nomura would have a better idea with what he was doing, and what he plans to do. As of now the game and Nomura contradicts itself at points, so the next three games better have some in depth explaining. At least this is what i hope

A hat.
I've said it before.
I remember KH 1. When you started playing, you knew the game was going to be magical and epic.
KH2 lacked that, and that's the biggest flaw with the second iteration.

Ok, so I haven't logged in here for the last six months, due to lack of info and stuff. I still visited here just to see what's up but I never signed back on. Until I read this thread. It is, IMO, one of the funniest things I have ever seen on the internet. I don't know why, but I was laughing constantly. I love the tags at the bottom. Oh, and my opinion is I think it's fine the way it is. A reboot now would only be bad. Thanks for bringing me back.

Im in the same boat as you my friend only checked the site for updates but this thread caught my eye. First that Puck guy has either never had a best friend or has homosexuality dwelling inside him that he is so afraid of that he lashes out at anything that makes him feel “funny”. So am I gay cuz I hugged my best friend before he went to Iraq and told him I didnt want him to go? Second The Organization had no back story cuz it was an unknown. The mystery of it drove the storyline. Its called storytelling. If you knew everything about what was going on in a story it would be dull. Also 358/2 Days is doing the back story thing. Third Sora is a developing character. He is young still and his personality is not developed fully. He cant be the great hero you want him to be cuz he is still naive, but he knows what he is fighting for which drives him to become that great hero. Reboot not needed. Better fans and player needed

What I'm going to offer are only facts:

1.) It will no longer be, as Puck calls it, "The Adventures of the Mind-Wiped Hero". As we saw in a new scene in KH2:FM, Sora regains his memories of Castle Oblivion after Roxas and Naminé reunited with their others.

2.) The three new games aren't pointless. Not only are they going to fill every remaining plot hole in the series so far, but they all foreshadow KH3. So KH3 will finally wrap it up. And if it doesn't completely, there's always a "KH3:FM" to wrap it up.

3.) Yes, it's true that KH2 was not as good as the other two games, but that's only because of how they treated Disney. Plus they made it more "user-friendly" (ex. easier gameplay, flat worlds, etc.). From what we can see so far, BBS (and hopefully the other two) will be better.

For the whole yaoi thing, hopefully someday Nomura will just flat out say who's gay and who's not.

Actually, KHI was the best. KHII had great potential, but Nomura ruined it.
Opinions.
Perhaps to him, he found KH2 the best out of the bunch. That doesn't necessarily mean he's wrong, it just means that KH2 fitted more to what he wanted from the series.

The idea behind this series is brilliant and could be made into something grand. Currently it's being run down into the ground. It went from Kingdom Hearts to 'The Adventures of the Mind Wiped Hero'. And now there are a bunch of pointless spin offs being released that don't add anything except more confusion and clutter. CoM itself was the big error and caused this downfall. Now the series needs fixing and must be turned into an epic.

What is THIS? COM is awesome--even if I didn't finish it!

Ah, you again.
To be honest I always found Sora to be a younger version of Zack. They're both the same type only Zack had the shit hit the fan at an older age so he managed to handle it better, being a young adult. Sora is still a child which is something you seem liable to forget.

Poor Sora being compared to somebody else who probably has more fans then him. I agree that Sora is younger then Zack though.

The series isn't fine. It's slipping into oblivion. I honestly don't understand why everyone is so happy about the current 'The Adventures of the Mind Wiped Hero'. This series could be made into something bigger than Zelda or any fantasy game because it combines Disney and FF. Currently the whle thing is bcoming a big convuluted mess. Plus it's got too many yaoi tones that is further bringing this series down. The main character has been turned into a walking robot that keeps getting reprogrammed or deleted mentally. The villains have become Naruto rejects and the storyline is dwingling into suck ville.

A fresh restart is needed. Sora should be older and be more heroic. Xehanort and the Heartless need to be scary and creepy. Also there should only be one keyblade. And there shouldn't be any nobodies and Namine. Namine is the worst thing since Jar Jar Binks.

Yes, the Ansem thing was a disaster also. The gay thing needs to be eliminated also.

Wow. Okay then...
And IMO: Since what part of KH should be rebooted?
The second game? The first? Or COM? If all, I don't think so! I can't see COM being rebooted at all. It's in the middle of the game for Pete's sake!
Yeah, there are fans that are getting tired and blah blah but there are still OTHERS
out there who like the game itself, still. I don't think the game needs rebooting..even if the game does need adjustments and etc.

There WAS no Akuroku.

Finally, somebody who can agree with me with this!

Ok I think Puck got the message and if not he will be back.

Puck will never get the message. No amount of senseless beating will change that.

Also, we've been able to confirm Puck thinks 2 boys being friends should be considered yaoi. Dirty little mind.

i found COM annoying. and kh2 was not better then kh1. maybe in gameplay value but not in story or anything liek that

Why not? It had the deepest storyline.
The most developed characters
Awesome battle system.
And a PS2 remake. What's not to love?
