Many games that are expected to be big sellers will all have that same box at videogame stores as a promo display. That's my guess since i'm sure the cover will have artwork on the front, and if it doesn't I'd be very shocked, and disappointed. So we'll see when the game comes out.

They wouldn't design the final box cover this early before the release date. Like Relik said, it is only the promo box.

It's not the real box cover. Give Square some credit - they will make a much better looking one than that. Also, if you look at the picture, it's hard to read, but at the bottom it says "Final package design will vary." Plus, the box has the "Rating Pending" sticker on it, so it's obviously not the real thing.

Exactly, this black box with the kh2 logo on it is most likely just a "stand-in" until the real cover box is made and released.

It's possibly just a teaser, like with the Harry Potter movies. You don't espect that the promotional image of Harry standing there with that text above him is the cover, do you? No, so it's probobly just promotional art or a teaser.
