I've run onto a bumpy road with one forum in particular, but I still keep catching myself returning to the website and logging back in constantly, what are some good methods of leaving a forum and never returning?

Do you think you're being funny or something? Because honestly you're not. And you're just plain fucking annoying. Why don't you actually, oh I don't know, make a post once in a while that doesn't completely sound stupid?


As for the topic. There isn't much you can do. I would say PM the mods or admins of the forums, and ban you. That way, you can't get on.

If you want a sane answer instead of a dickhead answer, just delete your cookies. Or pretty much, take those tosser's advice, it all comes down to the same things.

Also, deleting your history doesn't get rid of the log-in ;D You should've said cookies instead.

Put it on your blacklist.

you could get yourself banned, or you could delete your cookies and whatnot, and find something to distract you so you never go there again.

Install some firewall or webblocker (the free Christian porn-blocker work well)

Add the website to the list of block-sites.
For password, type in some random 246u3245-067juSdfsDLFj23049 thing, DON'T write it down or memorize it, and there you go.

You can never access that website again.

I've tried this too. But they didn't want to just ban me for a stupid reason, they said I needed more self control =\

so yeah basically get yourself banned, find a life outside of the interent, or install a firewall and force yourself off it.

Cancel your internet. Just do it, you will feel better aftewards.

I would suggest looking for another forum that has a better appeal to you, that might make you not go to that particular forum you are trying to get away from.

Well I know for me it was mainly because I wasn't making any progress anywhere. But my burning desire to actually be recognized and even make it to being a mod kept me coming back again and again. Then I got a real life and realized how silly that was =\

Just find another place that keeps you going to it constantly and makes you forget your old forum.

If you use Firefox, there's an add-on called "Leechblock" that you might find useful...it lets you block sites for specific sets of time and even block the options menu temporarily so you won't be tempted to just disable the lock. Or you can block sites forever (did this with Facebook 'cause I logged on like crazy even though I never used it for anything..).
