A whole YEAR?! I beat him in, like, two minutes!
Okay, MY strategy is keep jumping, because he throws bombs n stuff. I think he has cards. When he needs to re-shuffle his cards, attack him, and keep attacking until he throws the bombs. Try jumping towards him and attacking him then. It will stop him throwing the bombs for a short while. If you keep getting hit by the bombs, keep using clear. But make sure you dodge them.

Get a elixir,and 2 Hi potions. Then put in at least five 0 cards at the end of your deck to card brake him. Also have a air pirate enemy card so he can't brake your item cards. Then just attack him, or use sonic strike. Thats it thats all you need to beat him

i also had trouble with captain hook (took me 3 months before i beat him lol) the key to this fight i found is to have the pirate card that makes your cards all 0's , i had 2 of them in my deck at the time
