How did riku every get a keyblade

i think riku had it before sora but when riku went into the darkness that keyblade left him and went to sora.(this happened on destiny islands)

He was the original keyblade master of light, but since he accepted the darkness at destiny islands (while he holds out his hand to invite Sora), he lost his ability to weild the keyblade and Sora got it instead.

His Soul Eater became a medium for his keyblade after CoM. When his heart was purified and he found light again, he became both light and dark, and got the Dawn Keyblade, aka "The Way to Dawn"

That was really cool, I know you only get to be riku for like 2 min but it was cool and so is his keyblade. I love KH2 and everything abot it, I'm going to start playing proud mode pretty soon.

I don't think darkness has anything to do with it. I think it has something to do with the strength of the heart. Notice that Riku's heart was stronger than Sora's early in Hollow Bastion. But later on Sora's heart got stronger so he was able to take it back. These names that these Keyblades have were names given to them because they originated in those particular realms or worlds. Each Keyblade is no weaker no stronger than the other Keyblades. They just have different powers and different wielders. Even if Riku continued walking the path of Darkness he could of taken Mickey's darkness Keyblade if Riku's heart was strong enough. But Riku is not like that. You guys may be right about how Riku attained the Way to Dawn. Riku probably was the rightful master of the keyblade but when he chose darkness somehow his heart weakened and the keyblade went to Sora. If Riku's darkness was strong enough at the time he probably would of been able to wield the Keyblade of light. You also have to consider Mickey strong hearted as well. Even though he chose the darkness Keyblade he was able to wield it and use it for good.

I think Dark Riku's outfit looks like a dress, it looks so gay, and if you did not notice in KH in the riku 2 battle his blade looked exactly like a keyblade if you did not notice that you must have been stoned when you were playing it.

It looked like a skirt to me. I only liked that form in chain of memories though because it helped me out a bit. Oh and yeah it was a Keyblade. But it was created from the six princessess of heart.

I dont think there is a lead keyblade master considering theres 4 that we know of. now you said riku's heart was stronger in the begining of hallow bastion but then got weaker so sora was able to take back the keyblade, i dont think it was because rikus heart was weak, its just ansem was controlling him and so he wasnt able to use it anymore. in kh2 it says that riku's heart was so strong that it seemed no darkness could eclipse it. or somewhere along those words. im sure if riku had the chance he would be able to wield mickeys keyblade.

Riku was the true keyblade master. But he gave in to the darkness, making Sora the keyblade master. But Riku could still use a keyblade.

I think he weilds a keyblade because he has a heart, besides in Kh1 he was able to pull the keyblade out of Sora's hands in Hollow Bastion.

God some people are just so tactless. Ya know not everyone who is gay wears a dress fool. I never have! I guess its true that people dont know how to do anything but steryotype other people to make themselfs feel more important.

But Anyway!

Riku heart created that keyblade because even though he was part of the Darkness his light is what made him strong. His determination to destroy the Darkness is what hellped not only with the Orginization and the Heartless but also the Darkness within himself. Thats what created the Way to Dawn Keyblade.
