Kingdom Hearts exists in some sort of meta-universe; where everything has but also hasn't happened yet. This is especially true of the disney worlds. Besides, KH does not fit into the overall FF timeline, because there is no overall FF timeline. Aeris is hanging out with Squall Leonhart and Yuffie, helping a boy with a giant key and two classic Disney characters. Logic goes out the window.

for the FF thing, having all the characters without swords in their backs was to draw KH away from it being a FF game
yeah.....what lordMune said..kingdom hearts has nothing to do with final fantasy and disney (only the characters). it's like a paralel universe

actually i believe that this leads into another topic, the fact that aerith was never meant to die in ff7...
originally, i think nobody died, or tifa died...
but in the last moment, they removed aerith and kept tifa in because sex sells and tifa basically helped that along...
you can tell that aerith was never meant to die by the fact that she still has lines in the game script even when she is dead, and when sephiroth comes down to kill aerith, she wasnt supposed to die, only get injured and seek out another way to cast holy, thats why the background is different from when sephiroth is above and when sephiroth stabs aerith...
and the proper story line was that aerith was supposed to have saved cloud from going crazy because cloud was supposed to fall into the life stream...
and they never changed the ending video of the game, youll notice that aerith has reached her goal, to call holy from within the lifestream...
so yea, aerith wasnt meant to die, and hence square decided to give the flower girl a second chance at finding cloud...
hence their meeting at the end of kingdom hearts 1...

though the dialouges are in timeline... like cloud is saying, "i'm looking for someone" he's looking for aeris, and finds her atlast when you finish the game. its a prevent for advent children
Its Aerith, but its not her. She never knew Squall. Yuffie never knew Squall, its them, but they aren't really the same people because they are from Hollow Bastion rather than their real FF worlds.
Cetramarius, Cloud is looking for Sephiroth. This is shown in Final Mix, when (after Sora beats Sephiroth) Could and Sephiroth commence the Showdown of Fate.
Yes, Aeris is dead in FF7, but like LordMune has said, Kingdom Hearts is simply a crossover from other SE games and other Disney movies. So anyone can be dead or alive, it doesn't matter. Whatever makes the game move forward.

Yeah i was real confused about that first. Its like time didnt matter. Cuz in FFX tidus and wakka re much older. I think they just took classic disney and classic FF characters and toyed around with them.....i should rephrase that but oh well im lazy
he isnt looking for sephiroth, he thinks he killed him, i know final mix makes this seem true, but he saw aeris at the end of ff7, thats why he's looking for her, aeris has an important role in advent children, cloud loved her damn it, of course he's looking for his love
But how do you know that for sure?
i just know clouds mind after having played ff7 5 times and gotten everything and done everything
