I know many of you have the game already, so I made this thread. Basically to discuss the game with your fellow users, how is DDD holding up for you compared to the original, what are your favorite and least favorite aspects, did you like back cover, is 0.2 everything you thought it would be?

There is this really great scene where Sora does a quad flip and it surprises Riku so much he just fly-jumps and kisses Sora.

But really, I'm having a blast! It's really hard to go from 0.2 to KH3D, though. It's such a jarring difference in quality.

0.2 had some stuttering issues (standard PS4) with some of the loading of menus, disappearing keyblades etc. but nothing that really impedes on the gameplay like 2.5 did. It features complex gameplay and thought-provoking puzzles while also giving hard core gamers a real challenge.

DDD is gorgeous in high definition. Game play takes a little to get back into but it's still fun. I feel more attached to Dream Eaters this time around.

I keep worrying that it will feel jarring moving from 0.2 stable 30FPS to DDD's 60FPS. Like it did going from KH2FM+'s smooth frame rate to BBS's less than ideal frame rate on 2.5 only in reverse, it took a bit of getting used to and I think it sort soured the first world for me. I mean in theory a better frame rate would mean that moving to DDD it looks better but I think more so than anything it will make my eyes bug out. Can anyone comment on their experiences in this matter?

Even though KH3D is outputting 60fps on my TV, I don't really notice it. You adjust to it really fast so you don't really "feel" it after awhile.

Honestly even though KH3D is smoother, 0.2 is leagues above KH3D in terms of gameplay and animation quality so it feels like going backwards in a bad way.

You do notice it with the menus and all though (everything's so big). But yes, Spockanort is right, after a while you don't feel the 60fps anymore.

On another note, I didn't experience any crashes or framedrops at all throughout my playthrough of 0.2.

Enjoyed the gameplay of 0.2 quite a lot. It's definitely a considerable improvement over BBS and DDD. I have my issues with a few of the bosses though (one which is just tedious and the other stun locks you) but I haven't tried the secret boss yet so we'll see how that goes. I've heard good things about it though.

Just finished 0.2 and IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME! I am so god dam happy. My god, it was such an enjoyment to play trough. I`ll write in detail why later. Next I´ll watch the movie and grind for the hard secret boss.

I always figured that was the correct order since 0.2 is the direct prologue to KH3. I'll save 0.2 for tomorrow.

In an interview they confirmed it doesn't matter whether you play 0.2 first or watch Backcover first. Iirc.
I'd also just do it in order the games are listed on the menu. I know why Chuman thinks so - Luxu at the beginning and "may your heart be the guiding key", but I still feel like it wouldn't change anything considering the surprise factor is still the same.

A light review of 0.2 before I make a full video stuffed with laughs and giggles:

I had fun. Level design was very good, graphics and sound design were very appealing, music of course was good... Gameplay was the very definition of iffy. Physical attacks are viable again, but Aqua's ground combo is boring and clunky, and her finisher being an explosion-esque move wasn't very fun either; a more traditional finisher would have been more fun to use, but I imagine the devs were trying to recreate Aqua's movement from BBS-- which there was no need to do. Air combat was pretty fun and easy, cartwheel wasn't infinite, which was nice, it definitely wasn't a BBS/DDD style shitshow, but it isn't KH1 or KH2, and a lot of that comes down to Aqua herself.

Framerate was surprisingly stable on standard PS4. It only dipped down a few times in fights, and the only location where the framerate was downright bad was in the forest area. I'm still compelled to say there should be NO framerate issues because the game really isn't so visually stunning or techincally complicated not to be able to manage a sturdy 30fps, but it was still very playable.

The INCREDIBLE Aqua mirror fights were the best part, I enjoyed Darkside fights on some level, the heartless swarms are TERRIBLE. Just terrible. They're completely bullshit; I played on Proud mode, and died several times to the first two Devil's Wave fights. They have no windup or indication of what they're about to do, or when they're going to go hostile-- poor design, boring tedious fights. I somehow beat the final boss on my first try, but that wasn't a great fight either.


Pretty good game; suffered from Aqua/not being able to equip combo modifiers and abilities. Decent demo for KH3 but don't fool yourself into thinking it's any more than that.
