KHInsider City, eighteen months since the death of Shamdeo, has returned to a state of organised normality. Most go about their days and duties as they always had, except in one particular part of the city.

Tucked away on the southernmost tip of the Creative Isle sits Roleplay Town, a place that - initially subtly - would be forever changed from the day of Shamdeo's death onwards. Imperceptible at first, civilians with especially strong associations with their respective characters began manifesting mild attributes and powers of those figures.

Thanks to the relative size and obscurity of the district, and the low-powered nature of these unusual goings-on, the secret of Roleplay Town remained such even to this day - even many within being utterly unaware that such a thing is even happening. However minor, exactly how something so spectacular has been kept secret for so long remains a mystery.

With the apparent leaking of such secrets, a long-absent KHInsider roleplaying prodigy returns to the district. Brutally murdered by what many see as unprecedented empowered or supernatural means, the secret of Roleplay Town threatens to break wide open. Forces corralled under the empowered ready themselves for mobilisation at the news of this apparent breakthrough in power manifestation, threatening to plunge the quiet corner of KHI City into chaos.

This project is better suited for those who've been around for a while or who have at least established some presence or identity on/in KHI. Relative newbies are not guaranteed entrance.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town

- REFERENCE -

KHInsider City is the forum transposed into a metropolitan settings, with threads represented as buildings, and entire sections being literally districts and neighborhoods.

[SPOILER='Meta', Lemmings, and more]Because this is, in part, a roleplay about roleplays, the word 'meta' is used when talking about some thing or event on the forum being manifested in some way in KHInsider City. Someone being banned might translate to them being forcibly deported from the city and temporarily refused entrance. Moderators are part politician, part celebrity, part town planner, and part law enforcement.

Since threads are the lifeblood of the forum and translate to individual buildings in the city, creatures called Lemmings exist to facilitate the creation and organisation of these structures. The contents of threads are set out by smartphone devices that all citizens have. Once the thread's initial contents are established, opaque and strangely impenetrable fencing is erected seemingly from straight out of the ground around the given block of land. From there, people guess the structure is build underground by the Lemmings and then elevated up, for people have seen completely-furbished buildings ascend from previously empty lots in the city. Buildings, where generally applicable, reflect the contents they are dealing with: Buildings in the Kingdom Hearts sections all appear like buildings from the games, Creative Writing, Fan-Fiction and Roleplaying buildings take on the aesthetic of the subject matter.

Because of their quiet and industrious work, Lemmings generally go unseen by the wider populace - even moderators typically only interact with individual ones in person when organising very precise or large-scale creations or building relocations. Lemmings are generally mysterious and thought to live underground where they can stay out of sight and work generally uninterrupted. Efforts to capture Lemmings or probe into their lifestyles have been met with failure, usually followed by the sudden warped creation of structures, or even the random destruction of some. For these reasons, Lemmings are generally left alone even by those that know specifically of their existence.[/SPOILER]

- CHARACTERS -

In this particular roleplay, characters are essentially you, at least to the extent that you present yourself in the roleplaying section. Keep this is mind when creating your character, as others are perfectly allowed to highlight direct inconsistencies or falsehoods in your representative character.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

"Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope."

Name:
Mistearea "Mist" (Uma, BS and Dark to some older aquaintances)
Age:
23
Gender:
Male
Role:
Academy Mentor

Background:
Mistearea came to the place known as KHInsider City at an age where he felt that the world was his for the taking. Because of this he quickly set out to create a name for himself using what little remained of his prowess. At first he was just the typical teenager with an attitude that needed to be adjusted, but there were a few that managed to get through his tough exterior. This all happened back when many could say that Roleplay Town was at its peak. But for the next few years if anyone happened to see Mistearea, they were sure to see two certain people near him. It's actually with the help of these two people that he helped to establish his name, long after he gave up the idea.

This tale is not just one of self-learning, there is even a little romance involved. This was mostly seen just after two others joined into the small group of close friends. It was obvious to everyone that saw them together that Mistearea and the only other guy in the group both had their eyes set on the newest girl of the group. Normally people would say that neither of the boys would win in the contest to claim the girl's heart, but Mistearea is the one that emerged victorious. Some could say that he only won because of his apprenticeship to a certain big-name in the city, but those people were often looked at with confusion. After all, Mistearea was learning something far different than the contest for the woman's heart.

But through this contest, there were two bonds forged. The first was with the girl that the two fought over constantly, but the other was with the other guy. It was through the conflicts that the two of them found they actually share quite a bit in common, if nothing else it was the brotherly love towards the other two girls and a really short temper. The biggest difference that they found though was in the way that they fought one another. Mistearea would always remain calm and speak softly in the arguments while his friend would typically get more violent. In a way, the two guys found that they complimented each other, thus the reason for such a strong bond even during times of strife.

But this was not to last. As it so happened Mistearea was soon seen regularly visiting the Battle District. It wasn't really clear why he would suddenly start visiting that place more often, and neither would it be for quite some time. But one thing is for sure. As soon as he walked across the border of the districts he would often times revert back to his old self. He would often be seen spouting nonsense about his abilities, before quickly and easily being knocked down. Some would say that his persitence was an admirable trait, but those were the people that didn't see him too often. In truth he would always say that he was either warming up or he wasn't using all of his abilities. Needless to say this caused him to gain a few enemies.

And then all was quiet for a while. For a long time things continued in the town at a normal pace and somewhat more quiet. That's because one of the biggest mouths of the time was nowhere to be seen or heard. There were a few that knew what happened to him, but most of them didn't know anything until some time after Mistearea's vanishing. It wasn't until some time later that people that knew of him had their questions about him answered. Some saw instantly upon his arrival thanks to the armor scarred and burnt that he arrived in, but some didn't fully understand. It was to those people that he said that he had joined up with the military and was sent all over to fight against an enemy not like themselves.

From there he once again set out to live an average life amongst the people that he knew. It was during this time that he used the wisdom he gained from constantly fighting for his life to mend some relationships strained by his personality. It's because of this act that he turned some old enemies into new allies. This is also around the time that some could say he obtained the status that he originally had inteded, but he would always claim that he still has a lot of work to do.

But then something seemed to click in his mind. It was also around the time that the Academy was established that he felt a new reason for him being there revealed itself to him. Thinking this he applied for a position as a Mentor at the Academy so that he may teach others what he has spent several years learning. Once could say that he wishes to teach these lessons to help people grow without having to go through the same things that he's had to. It also seemed to fit him perfectly because he could often times be seen offering advice to some of the newer residents of the town.

Personality:
If observed from some years ago, none would really like the personality of Mistearea. These days, however, people could notice a great difference. For starters, Mistearea is not nearly as arrogant as he used to be, but he has been known to show some sign of it from time-to-time. Instead he prefers to look things over from every possible angle before doing anything. The only issue though is he tends to do this only when teaching others. If he could just learn to apply this to everyday life he could grow to become an even greater asset to the people around him. Otherwise he can be seen as just another old guy trapped in a young man's body.

But there are a few things off about him. For starters there is his love of anime. While he does boast that he knows a good deal about it, he will be the first to say that there are countless that know more. All that he's got going for him in this case is the fact that he has consumed a vast quanity of it. Another would be his outlook on honesty. To him, not including something is just as bad as saying to complete opposite. That's why he doesn't hold back when he tells the truth. He knows that this can hurt several people, but he feels that it only helps them to grow on the inside. Another thing that he's gained over the years is a defensive nature towards those that he considers friends, or even just people that he feels he's in good standing with. He feels that he's spent enough time learning about them that he can't stand people to talk bad about them in any way. Even if his views are rather simple.

Appearance:
Starting with the most prominent features of his body, Mistearea stands at a somewhat tall six feet and two inches, or 187.96 cm, with a weight somewhat proportionate to his body, if not a little more. If one was to look at him more closely the would see a body entering the first stages of decline at it nears it's physical peak. But that's to be expected considering his age. Otherwise he seems to be in perfect health, granted his physical power outshines his physical speed. Other than that he tends to keep a neutral look on his face that many people seem to liken to being sad or depressed. In truth, that's how he always looks. Other than that he has a somewhat pale complextion. The only thing about him that could really be considered normal happens to be the gray-blue eyes that always seem to hide some sort of past and short strawberry blond hair.

When it comes to clothing, he really only goes for a somewhat simple design. No matter what the temperature of the day he can always be seen wearing what he considers his trademark black work boots and blue jeans, slightly faded with age and use. These jeans are always held up with a dark brown leather belt and is visible thanks to the fact that he tucks in his shirt. The shirt itself is typically a plain black, but that's just how he likes it. It's not that he morbid or anything, he just enjoys simple syles more than complicated ones. Other than that he will normally don a simple black sweatshirt with a hood and zipper up the front when things are either comfortable or cold. He never wears it when he starts sweating though.

Powers:
Force: Due to the early stages of him developing this, it's still not to the same level as Garfield from Kingdom Hearts Roleplays just as Inception or Kingdom Hearts: The Keyblade War. Because of this, it's much easier for him to take an attack or add a little extra something when every he applies force to something.

Martial Aptitude: He can't explain it, but lately he finds that martial arts are typicall more enjoyable to him and come much more naturally. Now instead of pretending to stand correctly and throwing a punch, he stands with a perfect form to deliver the punch much more efficiently.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

"Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope."

Name: The general public refers to her as Ulti, a shortening of her original name Ultima Keyblade, but many in her circle of friends call her Sereh.
Age: Ulti always has the youthful look of a woman entering into adulthood, but many older residents know she is far older than she looks. No one is exactly sure how old she is, only that she was in the city since the beginning.
Gender: Female

Role (optional): Ulti use to dabble with multiple roleplays, earning herself a name within the community. But as the city grew and her job as a moderator started to include other districts, she rarely found the time to involve herself with a roleplay. Still, she is found of the district and visits it often to see the youngsters play in her old trade.

Background: Ulti has been in the city since the very beginning. It was Deven himself who hired her into the mods. She has turned down promotion after promotion to keep her moderator title as to keep herself deep within the community. She has seen all the ups and downs of KHInsider City. She was generally friendly to all citizens, only a hardass to those who annoyed her. But after Shamdeo's untimely death, Ulti has closed herself off to her fellow moderators and the admins. She now wanders the districts, squashing any troublemaker she finds.

Personality: To her friends, Ulti is rather a caring and loyal person. But she keeps up a facade of spite and wit to keep others from seeing her weaknesses. This is more so true after her friend's death. Now, she keeps things professional and regulated, never letting any bull to fly by her.

Appearance: Even in her depression, Ulti still dresses as she has always dressed. Ragged jeans with a comical game shirt, a brown fedora with a black feather tucked in its side, and of course her pair of glasses. Due to the recent bad weather, she gathers warmth in a tan trench coat.

Powers (optional): Ulti is a mod. Her powers are whatever is expected of a mod.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope."

Name: F. N. Sovereign (Aka Nalin, Calhoun, Anomaly, and Keep)

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Background: Sovereign was a bit of an enigma within Khinsider city from the beginning. Arriving within the city limits lost and confused at a very young age, it took a bit of time for people to take notice of him. Even when they did, people were surprised by the boy’s immature manner of conversing in contrast to his rather well developed writing style…for his age at least. Sovereign, under the name Mikeep, joined a number of fairly ambitious roleplays, but primarily avoided takeing part in those sponsored by the administration, feeling that they would find his involvement as a hindrance to their projects. The roleplay section was at its peak back then, and there were creative ideas surging about in such abundance, that Sovereign barely knew what to join and what not to. After working on a few projects, and making a small reputation for himself, he felt inadequate for the task of roleplaying with such skilled peers. So, he vanished, and in secret, he trained.

Some years later, Sovereign returned in a new form, with a new name. He was known as the Anomaly, a being with more confidence, more ambition, and more skill. In order to prove himself, he jumped right into projects created by the moderators and finally felt like he could hold his own, even if he was still relatively inexperienced. His characters weren’t the most in depth or deftly crafted, but they developed a life of their own through the process of roleplaying. The moderators could see the potential in Sovereign now, and they welcomed him into future roleplays, but certain slip ups, and waning confidence in his own abilities drove Sovereign away once again. The boy wouldn’t return again for a great deal of time.

Sovereign returned a second time, more humble, but also more certain in his own abilities. It was a this time, under the name of Nalin Calhoun, that he made a decent name for himself through the joining of a couple large roleplays. In addition, he began to ask the moderators and veterans of the Roleplay section for advice and tutelage which they graciously provided. Nalin began to roleplay with confort now, no longer waiting for reprimands or complaints about his posts. The boy felt like he was a true member of the community then. No one knows this time why Calhoun vanished. Everything seemed to be going well, and the boy seemed to be on the right track, but for some reason he simple ceased to be, leaving projects unfinished and questions unanswered.

A very long time passed without any sign of Sovereign, and his name faded from common knowledge. It was assumed by many that he had died, and perhaps he did. The roleplay section fell from its peak, things grew quieter, and projects became harder to get off the ground. Shamdeo died, and an air of general mourning blanketed the city. It was soon after this that a figure was seen entering the town. Many thought he seemed familiar, but they couldn’t be sure. The man called himself Sovereign. Before too long, he was called the Fair Sovereign by those who roleplayed with him. The man, once known by many other names, quickly reasserted himself within the roleplay community, and hopes to soon earn a good name for himself.

Personality: Unlike the incarnations of Sovereign seen in the past, this latest persona of Sovereign is by far the most calm, and most mature. Whilst in previous incarnations the boy would make silly (and often stupid) comments, and become immensely flustered when he made a mistake, this incarnation hardly does either, though he still tends to get a little bit manic when he causes problems. Sovereign is very excited to get projects off the ground and has to fight his own impatience when life issues impede their progress. Now more than ever, Sovereign is capable of handling many projects at once, and is no longer scared to participate in more than one roleplay at a time. Sovereign is a big fan of collaborative efforts and feels much more excited about roleplays when he gets to work them out with a partner.

Despite being more comfortable than he’s ever been in the roleplaying section, Sovereign still feels a bit like an outsider due to the fluctuating nature of his life in Khinsider City. Now, more than ever, the boy is keen to earn the respect of his peers and is willing to work as hard as he needs to in order to do so. Sovereign has very little tolerance for bad roleplaying due to working in other locations where people had little intolerance for his own lack of skill years before. Occasionally he regrets feeling this way, but it’s a mentality that has deeply ingrained itself Sovereign’s mind.

Appearance: Sovereign stands at exactly six feet tall, and is fairly muscular. His skin is somewhat tanned from recent exposure to the sun, and his hair is of a sun-bleached light brown. Where his hair was previously quite long, it has recently been cut much shorter. The sides and back of his head are cut short whilst the top of his head was kept longer, and hangs over one eye. There aren’t many blemishes on his face, as he takes care to wash his skin every day. His eyes are an earthy brown with a thick black ring around the outside of the iris. The neutral expression he wears most of the time is quite severe, and serves to grant him a very cold seeming demeanor. This however disappears completely when he smiles.

Though he doesn’t like to consider himself a slave to fashion, Sovereign is very rarely seen wearing casual clothing, wearing what looks like business suits or at least, business worthy clothing. His favorite outfit is a white suit with a black shirt and a red tie. If he’s not wearing that, he will wear black pants and a black button up shirt with a black tie. The man wears this clothing in almost any type of weather, preferring to look good than feel comfortable. In addition, once can always smell the faint odor of cologne wafting off of him, though he is careful never to put too much.

Powers:

Hyper-Vitality: Most of his characters have had some measure of control over the physical body or life force in general, and this has come to reflect itself in Sovereign’s physical form. Sovereign is able to exert himself fully for considerably longer periods of time than would be normally possible, he can also push his body further than should be typical for a normal human. This equates to hightened strength, dexterity and overall physical abilities.

Fast Healing: For the same reasons as the above ability, he is capable of healing from wounds much faster than any normal human being. Some say that this may also be due to the harsh way he learned to roleplay in other places.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope

Name: Wehrmacht (otherwise known as Chev)
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Role: Politician/general authority figure

Background: The story of Wehrmacht is primarily a story of rapid ascension. When he stumbled upon KHInsider, he was very young, very insecure, very loudmouthed adolescent who mostly wandered around the Kingdom Hearts district, sharing thoughts and ideas with other fans of the "kingdom hearts" series which was the reason behind the "founding" of KHI. He grew to have a large amount of clout in the section, and for a time he was considered one of the larger authorities on "theories" and general knowledge. As he got older, he noticed that the northern isle was slowly becoming more and more alien to him; many of his old friends and acquaintances slowly but surely left, and gradually newer members came to not know who he was. New ideas and facts came up which began to puzzle him, robbing him of his expertise. He was never able to reclaim his former prestige.

Disillusioned, he began to ferry around to the other isles, such as the Community Lounge, trying to find a place where he belonged. It was during this period of travelling that he became acquainted with the KHI staff. Despite their somewhat sinister reputation, he would eventually befriend a good deal of them, and spend a lot of the time in the small "chat" island (it would evolve into "junes" years later). At some point, several members of staff felt that they should retire and seek their fortune elsewhere, and with these new openings it came to be that Wehrmacht was unanimously recommended. Despite starting at the low position of section moderator, he would quickly climb up the ladder to reach the administrator position. Though some are technically more powerful than him still, figures such as Edmund and spdude are shrouded in mystery and do not have a large presence in KHI; in this day and age, only the staff and extremely senior residents know who they are. With the death of Shamdeo, he effectively became the most powerful individual of KHInsider.

His involvement with roleplay town has, in the past, been rather small. Occasionally he would be called to settle some matters and provide moderating services, or by some roleplayer friend to participate in some new undertaking, and when called upon to do so it was noted by many that he had a bit of a knack for it. Despite this, he was not what you could a strong community figure in the city. However, now aware of the sinister forces at work, he has decided to take up residence in Roleplay Town to investigate the troubles and bring order.

Personality: Wehrmacht, by his own admission, is a rather sentimental individual, prone to pensiveness, introspection, and occasionally brooding. While he enjoys the company of friends and is hardly a misanthrope, much of his time is spent alone engaging in solitary hobbies. In spite of this, he is a talented politician with a knack for public relations. He is pragmatic, but the sense of justice that guides him is ultimately rather idealistic. While sensitive to others' feelings, he believes honesty is ultimately the most important thing in his relations. He nurses a dark sense of humor, which he uses to keep himself from being too affected by radical events.

He is a supportive friend, which was part of the reason that got him into roleplay town in the first place, as he wished to support friends in their roleplaying endeavors and saw it as a means of quality time.

Appearance: A man of relatively tall stature, scraping around 6'0, with soft features (except perhaps his slightly aquiline nose) , messy black hair, coffee eyes with perpetual dark circles under them, rectangular spectacles, and average physique. People often note that he has a "scholarly" look to him.

While generally not a vain individual, Wehrmacht does fancy himself as classy and this reflects his wardrobe. He prefers suits and ties, often pinstriped, with trenchcoats, especially for rainy weather. When dressing more informally, he enjoys peacoats and sweaters. He has a preference for dark and cool colors, though he is quite fond of white as well. His ties are generally flat colors, as he is not particularly fond of patterned ties.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

"Shades of charcoal-grey immortality and small blue streaks of hope."

Name: Joseph “Joey” Ordeith; alias, “Wormwood”

Age: Joseph looks a little older than most, but Wormwood moves with the spryness of a very young man. The latter, actually, is closer to his real age.

Gender: Male

Role: Roleplaying Mentor; Vice-Principal of the Academy’s Conceptual Department

Background: Moving to KHI City with little fanfare, Ordeith spent a few months quietly exploring each district, until Roleplay Town caught his eye as a place of possibility. With little idea of how the process worked, he built a roleplay from the junk of his imagination, and learned through exploration and experience. Working in Roleplay Town sharpened his tools as an actor and writer—leading to success in those fields, while steadily building his status in town. Most of his works lead to success, although his first venture into the Canon District ended in disaster—a part of his career that he still attempts to bury.

Now at the height of his roleplaying career, Joseph Ordeith splits his attention between multiple projects, the most famous of which being The Unseen Veil, which he is currently serializing as a novel (heavily edited from the original, of course). He plans to outdo himself, however, with his latest project—KHI Fables—which is projected to release across the entire Creative Isle. How he obtains the funds for such ventures is another matter; some speculate that he inherited some old money.

Whatever the scale of his projects, however he funds them, Ordeith always strives for quality in everything he does. His plays, roleplays, and published works are labors of love. The recent emptying of Roleplay Town has left him somewhat depressed—and examination of self, along with his works and career, have left him even more so. Burnt-out and bored-out, Joseph felt the need for a new branch to his life . . . and so Wormwood came into being.

His face may not be flesh and bone, but the informant Wormwood seems younger than his real-life counterpart. Ordeith must now perform as never before, pulling strings among shady circles, in order to feed the best information to his clients. Surprisingly, it became easier to maintain after a while; his sources became more tractable, his resources became more willing. As this seeped into other areas of his life, Ordeith came to realize that “Wormwood” may have awakened some power in him . . .

Personality: Polite, well-spoken, and exact to a point, Ordeith fits his professorial role well. Unless the character or script calls for it, he articulates his thoughts as clearly as possible—even at the expense of informal convention. However, despite sounding like a pedantic old fogey, Ordeith can be very easily caught up in the flow of ideas. When a concept seizes his attention, the vice-principal isn’t satisfied until it forms a complete whole.

Joseph is always seeking some form of mental stimulation—be it through roleplaying, traditional acting, writing, or playing the piano. He tries to imbue these with a sense of purpose and artistry, but quiet moments leave him pondering the value of his spent time. This nagging train of thought is what eventually gave rise to his secret career as Wormwood—who imbues Ordeith’s personality with the boldness of a comic actor.

While Ordeith will calmly condemn the Insanity District lifestyle, Wormwood will dismiss an Insanity localite to his face. He still retains a sense of decency and decorum, but uses Wormwood’s anonymity to be bolder than his own reputation allows.

Appearance: Standing at about 5’10”, Joseph Ordeith has a thin, almost noodly frame—which is perfect for comic characters. He can hardly be called strong, but is undeniably flexible; the stage actor is double-jointed in almost every part of his body.

Ordeith’s face is congenial and open, with round brown eyes, thick expressive eyebrows, a slightly upturned nose, and a toothy mouth that widens very much when he smiles. He wears his thick Italian-Latino hair swept backwards—but he changes this style for characters onstage, when necessary. When making physical appearances as Wormwood, he will don a wooden Comedy mask for easy street recognition—beneath which his face and hair have been drastically altered by makeup. Joseph never uses the same made-up face twice.

For attire, Ordeith usually dresses professionally, and enjoys doing so: Stiff-collared shirts, waistcoats, patterned ties, and brown leather loafers form his usual outfits. He owns a few three-piece suits for more formal occasions, and owns quite a few multi-purpose outfits for shows. As Wormwood, he makes frequent use of these costume components, often using them to make veiled statements. (For example, he wore a small costume piece from his role as Iago when his client was a revenge-seeking soldier.)

Powers: Usually playing the “wise-man” or “Doctor Faust” roles, Ordeith has inherited some of their will and presence—that is, the aura of a wise-man from literature and myth. His words can carry a ring of truth, or the weight of a higher power. Combined with his experience as an actor and public speaker, this persuasive edge allows him to better control a conversation or situation. When twisted in a certain way, it gives even more realism to Ordeith’s vocal impressions/impersonations, which are already quite good.

Incoming info-seeking-all-knowing-whatever person, I tried to base it off myself for a change, but it's kinda hard to really describe yourself... D:

"Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope. Each has their strength and weakness--and only together can they create something."

Name:
Previously (and best known) as rpgangel, however nowadays the lady just goes by Evangeline, and only lets her friends call her Eva.
Age:
21, 20, 25, 22...Depends on who's asking.
Gender:
All female, all the time.
Role :
"Retired badass...What?"
Refers to herself as a simple Librarian, filled with knowledge and past dreams, though her field of study is the creation of Roleplays, as well as studying the Roleplayers themselves quite closely. She dabbles here and there and knows quite more than she really should, and has only recently been trying to prod the section into becoming something great by helping out the more newer faces behind the scenes in secrecy. She admires the Academy and views it in high esteem.

Background:
"No one wants to remember their failures, their mistakes and their own past 'deaths' in Roleplays. I, however, believe them to be the key to success. You'll see..."

Once upon a time there was a little girl who didn't know what to do. She once tried to make it out in Fan Fiction Ville, though after a failure too many, packed up and decided to leave KHI City forever. However, as luck would have it, as she went to say her goodbyes, she stumbled upon Roleplay Town. To her, it was magnificent. While quite eager, she still had a ways to go, though she jumped into everything she could despite not having the talent, and from learning from what she saw did she eventually make her own identity.

One day, however, she sought to refine her skill elsewhere, in a foreign land; and with a heavy heart did she depart KHI City entirely.

When she came back, she was horrified to see most of her old friends gone, and only strangers in the streets she once knew. She was, however, surprised that some still knew her name, but it was sad to be so alone. She threw away her old name and decided to start over from scratch, and jumped into the fray once again. Time passed and life rolled by, and she noticed that while she began to establish her place, she didn't really do anything productive.

So she acted.

And thus she started studying. Yes, studying; getting people to get into her works and watching them closely, as well as enlisting the help of a few others. She strongly believed that by remembering your mistakes would the future look bright. She also began studying the Roleplayers themselves. While in the background of everything, some people forgot her, but she never forgot anything; she knew it all because she was never noticed, things happened, people came and left, and she would remember and record it all.

Nowadays she seems to have a few newer faces under her belt as a sort of 'street teacher' for those who want to learn but for whatever reason would not go to the Academy, as well as giving out pointers to promising stars.

Personality:
"We were all idiots at one time, some more than others. What we experience helps us grow to be the people we will become in the future. At least, that's what I'd like to think."

A semi cheerful, usually tired individual who honestly takes things a little too seriously but just wants to have fun. While she tried her best to help out in whatever way she can, she doesn't really like to be all out there simply because life is very busy. She takes comfort in knowing that her little steps made somewhat of a difference, and even if it doesn't she's just happy to see others succeed anyway. She's intelligent and knows how to read through people, though she's known to be aloof when matters don't, well, really matter to her. She always has ideas, but has trouble properly putting them out there.

As for her relations to others, she's generally friendly, but keeps people at arms' length. She's polite enough and likes to spew out sayings and the like and likes complicated and or unknown words just for the hell of it. She can get talkative but it takes a bit of effort to really get her attention if she doesn't know you, mainly because she's actually quite shy. Once you do get her trust, however, she's about as loyal as can be and is willing not to hurl something at you if you wake her up in the middle of the night. In all seriousness, though, she'll watch out for you and will get you what you need.

Appearance:
"Of course they aren't practical, they're fashionable! ...Alright, alright, I only wear them to look taller, I admit it! Geez..."

Short. One of the first things you're bound to notice. Her hair is also a fiery red. Second thing you'll notice. The third seems to be a tie between her butt and her chest, but we'll leave that to opinion. Anyway, Eva's a little thing, only at five foot three and seems to always be a head shorter than most. Her hair is currently at a nice flame red, as she calls it, which is usually in loose waves and just hangs around the middle of her back (as she really, really wants to grow it out). Her skin is tanned, her face plump and cheeky, her dark brown eyes big and round and a smile that just screams 'Of course, darling!'. Her body's on the curvy side, she is nowhere near a size two, actually a size twelve because of her damned curves (...;A; ). She loves wearing anything light and lacy looking, and has a habit of wearing heels to look taller. Her attire is nowhere near casual and consists mostly of dresses, pencil skirts and blouses (because you can't wear jeans where I work. D: lol )

Powers :
"I secretly wish to become a White Mage. Just to cast Holy. Ehehe~"

Drawing from 'Evangeline Esperanza' of many a Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts Roleplay (specifically Solareon's 'Requiem for the Fallen', though also Omni's 'Sol'), this White Mage-esque girl has one and only one power; the ability to heal (Cure).

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

"Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope."

Name: Eman
Spoiler Spoiler Show

Age: Mid-late 20’s

Gender: Male

Role (optional): Cult Leader / Revolutionary

Background: It is unclear when Eman first arrived in Roleplay Town, although murmurs of his name first start circulating about a year after Shamdeo’s death. Nobody knew who he was. Roleplayers muttered in silence about the strange silver masked man that was recruiting in the slums of the Battle District. Nobody seemed to have a grasp on who he was, but his magnetic charisma left a clear message in the minds of whoever he quietly spoke with.

“Roleplay is over…”

His movement grew larger quickly, and now, in the 18th month since Shamdeo’s murder, it is clear that this cult is gaining momentum. The Realists, as they became known, had members of unknown quantities. It was not clear to anybody how many actually believed. What was clear was this: Eman had somehow managed to strike a chord in the hearts of many former Roleplayers. The Realists were here to stay… and so much momentum could only result in one outcome…

Revolution.

Spoiler Spoiler Show

Personality: What is clear from the movement in the slums of the Battle District is that Eman is a charismatic individual. He knows how to motivate a crowd, to get deep down into the hearts of Roleplayers and appeal to the deep creative mind lurking within each one. He is strong-willed, letting every syllable of his speeches within the secret rallies reflect his determination and dedication to the creative spirit of humankind. He is careful, being very wary of where the Realists meet and conscious of who is aware of their whereabouts. This is a man who is ready to lead a revolution: single-minded, intelligent, and secretive. What is clear from his message is this: he believes that Roleplay is harmful to the human potential for creative power. He believes we need to move past this virtual play-acting, and take our power to the next level. And he is willing to do many things to make that happen.

Spoiler Spoiler Show

Appearance: Eman stands at about 6’3”. He dresses in blacks and dark reds, often clad in loose-fitting pants, tucked into dark black combat boots. His upper body is wound black cloth, made to allow freedom of movement, and topped by a black, lightweight armored vest. A black cowl is always secured around his head, while a silver mask obscures all features besides his eyes, which are a deep dark brown. The silver mask is viciously plain, with sharp lines marking the cheeks, but otherwise retaining a creepily simplistic stare. Eman would say the mask represents blankness, the slate on which we can scrawl our creative powers.

Spoiler Spoiler Show

Powers (optional): Most of what is known about Eman is based on rumors: the kinds that are whispered slurred at 3am after a few rounds too many. “I’ve heard he can move like lightning! No one can lay a hand on him if he knows they’re comin’!” “I’ve heard he can vanish into thin air like steam!” “No… he’s a wraith! He becomes intangible and then strikes when you don’t expect!”
There are no confirmed powers that Eman has manifested… however, he has proven almost impossible to get a lock on. His rallies are secret and almost impossible to locate ahead of time. His appearences are few, and no moderator has been successful in tracking him down.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town

"Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope."

Name:
Orion, 'Jezza' to those close to him
Age:
Mid-thirties
Gender:
Male
Role:
As a global moderator, Orion can exert significant influence over the whole of KHI City. This, combined with great social influence in the southern Roleplay Town, has him commonly seen as a figurehead for the district. Founder, mentor and part-time principal at the Roleplaying Academy. Practically speaking, Orion is the sole moderator of Roleplay Town, and thus occasionally takes to vigilante justice.
Background:
Moving to KHI City five years ago, Orion started out small and relatively unknown where most others do the same: In the KH districts. In the following couple of years he explored other areas of the town and stumbled upon Roleplay Town without really knowing what he was doing. A couple of months later, having forgot the initial intrusion into the town, he was contacted by a stranger to participate in a roleplay he had no recollection of applying for.

Entering properly into roleplaying as a total newbie in Organization XV, Orion quickly found himself rapt with the experience, and went from strength to strength between normal roleplays and battles. By regularly associating with the 'veterans' of the time he came to be considered - at least by some - to be among such ranks, despite sitting right between the newest and oldest members.

Two years ago, eager to help the city as a whole and reciprocate the entertainment and satisfaction it agave him, Orion entered into the staff as a journalist and archive/editorial writer. Though he ultimately found such work to not be right for him, it did provide the stepping stone to his next big step up: Orion became a global moderator on Christmas Eve eighteen months ago, the same day Shamdeo died. Though no links have been drawn between the promotion and the execution, Orion still feels haunted by that stigma of association.

In the months following Shamdeos death, when powers began manifesting themselves in certain citizens of Roleplay Town, Orion withdrew from most regular interaction with the general populace, instead stepping up as a creative force unto himself, and only really joining the roleplays of select individuals. Though such a shift saw him become distant in the eyes of the general roleplaying community, it simultaneously allowed himto break away from the assumed skill-by-association with the veterans and become a signature player in the town as a whole.
Personality:
As the leader of many large-scale and community projects in Roleplay Town, Orion works constantly to try and improve the district and its citizen even in times of dwindling roleplaying activity. Because of this, some see him as overly expectant of quality from all members, which is roughly in line with Orion's wish that no one pulls any bullshit when roleplaying.

He has a low tolerance for laziness and has more than likely driven away at least a few potential new roleplayers in his time because of this. His attachment to the section has, at times, seen him pursue wrong-doers a bit over-zealously; though his actions have led to no one being wrongfully charged, criminals he's taken care of tend to be handed in a little worse for wear.

To those close to him, he is a source of support, collaboration and inspiration. Though hard to be friends with, Orion proves a loyal and helpful companion when his trust and friendship is gained. Though not one for small talk, Orion has the strange habit of nevertheless sometimes being overly verbose when he wants to get to the heart of something.
Appearance:
Orion's regular attire draws inspiration from Rorschach of Watchmen fame, and for practical reasons. With every bit of skin covered and insulated from heat, cold, wind, dust and so on, Orion is able to mitigate the pain experienced because of his hyper-sensitivity. He wears a full grey business suit with black leather shoes, white shirt and black tie, as well as a dark grey overcoat and black fedora.

His most unique piece of attire is the fabric mask that covers his entire head, and is tucked in underneath his collar: Black all over, thousands of tiny points of light - all of various colours - swim over the surface of the mask's face, the left and right sides mirrored. The display generally appears as something celestial like a nebula, but changes in brightness, configuration and colour depending on Orion's environment and mood. When suddenly angered, the points of light tend to congregate in the centre of the face before exploding brilliantly outward like a supernova. When acting in a determined, single-minded rage, most of Orion's 'face' goes black, save for around the eyes - twin black-hole circles of darkness are orbited by flaring miniature stars.

Beneath his mask is a face seldom seen any more - pale skin, cold blue-grey eyes, straight teeth with an especially pointed canine. Medium-length dark-brown hair swept aside and back, and a sharp-edged beard maintained along his chin and jawline. High forehead, aquiline nose, sharp cheekbones and jawline. Disguised or no, Orion stands at a tall 6'5" with a solid figure to match such size.
Powers:
Psychometry - from Alexander Sibelius of PSIn and World Heist.
The anomalies that coincided with Shamdeo's departure have been both a boon and a curse to Orion: Undifferentiated neural tissue has grown throughout his body, allowing him mental processing speeds and lucidity of thought far in advance of normal people. Rendering him hyper-intelligent, the mutation of his nervous system has also greatly increased the sensitivity of his sensory inputs, allowing him much more precise ways to experience the world.

However, this sensitivity is such that Orion is in a constant state of pain in spite of his newfound ability to rewire his nervous system. Sometimes for days on end he'll accidentally fall into a coma when trying to deactivate the nerves or even parts of the brain that experience pain. More recently, Orion has found himself able to directly access physical and digital information stores through physical contact - things such as books, hard drives, even internet connections and most importantly VRP booths. With vague news of other people developing their own special abilities, Orion has tried pushing his information-reading abilities to include telepathy, with very minor success.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

"Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope."
Name: Shinra
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Role (optional): He works as a creative jack-of-all-trades, he starts Roleplays and he plays in them, he does odd stories from time to time in Creative writing district, and often has jaunts into the 'insane' part of town which can result in visiting the fanclubs, having fun in the games section and although rarely, going on dillsional rants that could possibly rival Scubasteve's capabilities of insanity.

Background: starting mostly as a roleplayer, he had started a decent Kingdom hearts sequel RP starring the children and apprentices of Sora and Co. he even developed a sequel to that RP much later and developed more and more and showed his creative side gradually, writing stories, working in RP's, as well as other buisiness... He keeps things fresh and new in KHI because although his name is that of one character from FFX-2... He's shown he has more of a creative genius rather then a logical one.
Personality: Shinra is essentially a creative idealism but has a logical way of approaching it, he's kind of the geek who takes things seriously but he has bouts of contradiction in his inner nature which result in odd hobbies and a good portion of his creativity and imagination. He has great ideas for Roleplays some of the time but he has problems with figuring them out logically from time to time. He's kinda bizarre when he has his bouts of creativity or insanity and when he gets inspired in creativity that's how he gets his details and ideas like most Roleplay-starters or Story writers do.

He's normally easy-going and happy most of the time, but once he gets 'in the zone' or gets 'mad' nothing can stop him until his slumps come up. do not disturb this guy when he's 'in the zone' or you'll get the 'silver tongue' of his going which can result in hurt feelings. and he has the quote 'do to others, as they do to you' deeply rooted into his nature. if you throw him an insult, He'll insult back, and so on.
Appearance: Shinra's trademark outfit is either a blue or black graphic tee with a light red hooded jacket and blue or black jeans depending on what shirt he's wearing. His shoes are typical black skaters and he wears white socks most of the time.

His physical appearance is pretty close to the typical 'White and nerdy' stereotype although his sense in outfits is better than most nerds. Pale peachy toned-skin, He's pretty tall and lanky about 5'9-5'10, but surprisingly has nice blue eyes but has a thick ring of hazel that almost turns his eyes a greener tone that are framed by black bifocal glasses, he's like Forrest Gump with glasses and thick, shaggy, shoulder length brown hair which is commonly kept in a ponytail.

Powers (optional): His ability is a lighter version of the ability used by his most powerful Original Roleplay character. the Manipluation of Dark energy. Although his bodily potential only allows for 'Kaiju high Human form' level exertion and control He can only create a small jolt of it to do his bidding when he resorts to violence . His maximum exertion of his ability is probably a small 'Hadoken' sized fireball of this energy.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

I'm just going to flat out say it because to articulate it wouldn't be worth the effort: Shinra, apologies, but I don't think you'd be suited to this roleplay, hence I will not be accepting you. Everyone else who's joined thus far has some significant history with the section and/or forum as a whole, or plays a notable role within it.

Re: Shades of Blue: Heroes of Roleplay Town [OOC]

Shades of charcoal-grey immorality and small blue strokes of hope.

Name: Urbane. Known by friends as Watson.

Age: 21

Gender: Biologically Male. Identifies as Female-Leaning Androgynous.

Background: Watson moved to KHI City while young, bored, and with no ideas what to do in the world. While interested in the concept of meeting new people in a new place, that was not the primary draw for Watson. Oh no. Watson truly moved to the city, hoping to find like-minded individuals with which to discuss that theme which permeates the city to its core, and even gives it its name. Kingdom Hearts. Having had an interest in writing at the time, and wanting to get to know the fandom, Watson migrated to Roleplay Town nearly immediately, and joined the first Kingdom Hearts project that seemed accessible. This project, of course, would go on to define much of Watson's time in the city. This project was known as The Commission, and it soon became clear that this thing would become utterly massive. As it picked up steam, so too did Watson, who began generally joining any and every roleplay that looked remotely interesting.

Eventually, however, The Commission collapsed under its own weight, as its creator, Azrael, was involved in a scandal which got him permanently deported from the city. With no leadership, the roleplay died, and its members drifted apart. Without a single defining reason to stick around roleplay town, Watson began slacking off, and very soon began to go very long periods without roleplaying at all, occasionally joining in on some genius project only to be met with a chorus of "you're still here?" by their fellow roleplayers. However, while Watson ceased frequently working in Roleplay Town, they never left, watching ongoing developments and waiting for something really amazing to happen. Every time a project looked truly good, it never got off the ground. "Not mainstream enough" they'd all say! Watson's joining of a roleplay was a harbinger of doom, honestly, as nothing they joined ever seemed to get off the ground.

Nonetheless, Watson remained. While Watson consistently made their home in Roleplay Town, they began to venture outwards once again, making frequent trips to the Insanity District, if only because that was where the "movers and shakers" seemed to be. Watson made many good acquaintances this way, but could never shake the feeling that something was missing from their life...

And then they got superpowers. Finally met with a potential drive, and filled with that innate desire to learn, Watson began attempting to figure out where these powers had come from, and what was going on. The first step in Watson's master plan, and the currently ongoing one, is figuring out exactly who else has been affected, how, and when. Having lost many connections in recent times, Watson is strapped for info. Of course, there are always sources...

Personality: Once upon a time, Watson was characterized by obnoxious arrogance, and a severe inquisitive side. Watson had to know absolutely everything about anything, and was purely and simply offended when information was witheld. Of course, Watson was fairly free with information as well, and rather terrible at keeping secrets.

Much has changed about Watson since then. While Watson has picked up some negative habits, in the form of some rather severe laziness and a tendency towards procrastination, they have also become a fairly well-spoken, if nonformal individual. They have become fairly quiet and nondescript over time as well, preferring to avoid conflict and keep opinions to theirself. The portion of the time they spend doing anything to the contrary is usually spent in the Insanity District. As evidenced by Watson's propensity for "Insaniteering," Watson has a deep love for comedy, attempting to cram it into every story and character which presents itself to them, with... varied... results.

Appearance: Watson stands at a height of 5'10", and is certainly not fat for that height, but they could certainly afford to get in shape. Watson possesses semi-pale skin, from months spent dedicated to roleplaying, or other indoor activities. Like sleeping. Their hair is a medium to dark brown, and reaches just barely past their shoulders. Their light blue eyes reveal a perpetual tiredness, which can be seen by many as dismissive.

Watson's usual attire is fairly casual, and quite basic. Plain tees and blue jeans make up the majority of their wardrobe, though this basic formula is often augmented by the addition of various dress shirts worn overtop. For semiformal occasions, Watson will bust out a blazer and do up their dress shirt. Whether the occasion is semiformal or casual, Watson's feet can often be found adorned with plain workboots. The whole thing is simple, efficient, and virtually hassle-free. The best way to keep a wardrobe, in their opinion. In terms of proper overwear, Watson owns a peacoat, and at least two trenchcoats. These things are people's first impression, much of the time. If there's anywhere to excercise class, it may as well be with coats.

Powers: Watson has played many roles over the years which have focused on obscuring the truth, or illuminating it for needing eyes. As a result, Watson has developed the ability to manipulate light, though only on a small scale. Watson can redirect light, bending it to their will. For example, they can bend light away from one area, cloaking it in shadow, and at the same time brighten up another nearby area. By bending light, Watson could concievably make people or objects invisible, though on a relatively small scale. Of course, a person made invisible this way would be rendered blind for the duration, as a result of no light being able to reach their eyes, so there are some certain drawbacks... unless Watson happens to want to blind someone.

Characters who inspired this ability include Nole Aurorius and Mirosius, both of whom have frequently employed shadow magic/abilites, Qazre from The Commision, who had an affinity for light and fire magic, and Lillian Burkhart from Sol, who possessed enhanced sight. I'm certain I'm forgetting someone or other, though.

I really hope I'm fairly spot-on with this. Of course, if I did horribly screw up, or engaged in any other form of idiocy while writing this, someone, please, for the love of god, tell me. *nerves*

Yeah, I apologize for the delay on my end. I've quite a fair bit on my emotional plate lately, so my inspiration has been in a bit of a drag. I'll try to finish my template tonight.
