Hmm.... Well I'd say it sounds like a fine computer to have, even if you don't upgrade it

Thanks you to every one that is trying to help me.
If I buy this PC its going to be my 1st real PC.
It would be my 3rd PC.
My 1st one was a old 95er. That could only play the old pre-installed games.
I got my 2nd one just last year. Its a Acer laptop. It cant even play Half Life 1.
I have no idea how to make a PC, so don't just tell me to make one.
I have very little exp with PC hardware. IF you guy could explain stuff in more detail, it would be every appreciated.

what that aspire has going for it is a pretty good starting package. two gigs of ram, a fairly powerful dual-core processor, and a sufficient non-oem power supply to keep the thing running. it may not actually be building a computer, but at least what you're doing is better than buying a pre-built piece of oem shit or an alienware/dell.

the card you'll be buying from tigerdirect should fit in the case just fine, albeit a little wire arrangement will be necessary. in addition, the card should be strong enough to let you play most games on high detail settings sufficiently.

what i recommend doing is buying maximum pc's annual "how to" fall magazine which goes over the latest pc parts, explains just how these parts affect performance, and features illustrated step-by-step instructions showing how to assemble a computer. it's great for helping a beginner get up to speed on info regarding the latest in pc parts and technologies such as quad-core processors and sli.

hmm. at your age, i'd have my parents buy it, and pay them back. if not, buy all the parts retail. i've heard that there are a lot of computer stores in toronto (provided you live there, i guess) but it should be possible to find a similar acer there. cards-wise i wouldn't buy anything over 300 dollars retail. chances are you can acquire the same card on the internet for less.

Sorry but that doesn't sound like a good computer from that small detail right there. I point that out cause I think my PC right now runs on a 1 Gb ram and I use it for media purposes(music, photos, sometimes videos). It depends what your going to use your Pc for I guess. Theres a few decent computers at Best Buy and Future Shop.

I think that's a pretty good PC for what you want and for the price. You're all ready getting a better video card, which is my only complaint with the machine itself. If I were you I'd get a 500GB HDD and add it later, just for extra memory. They cost around $100 (106C$), and will make it last longer.
