I wouldn’t be surprised if this flunks or turns out to be bad. Hollywood has been having this really annoying trend recently of remaking/rebooting/rehashing films that were already good to begin with it. In this case, the previous Hellboys were pretty great films with that Guillermo del Toro-stamp of approval, so this just seems very unnecessary to begin with.
But at the same time, we can’t know if it will be bad for sure. If they are willing to put in actual effort, than this could be a way to reintroduce the franchise to a new demographic or something.
