Re: Harry Potter 6 Previews!

I knew I had made a thread on this.
Could we merge the two threads on this?

Re: Harry Potter 6 Previews!

um, i love how bellatrix somehow appears to be in hogwarts fighting with the rest of the deatheaters when it says nothing about her being there.
and also, why is the burrow on fire?
that never happens in the book.

but otherwise, the movie looks amazing.
by far one of the best books.

I heard this movie will be mediocre from some friends who are Harry Potter fans and they have come up with the ultimatum of me starting to read it which i think i will so therefore I will read the books however based on what i've seen from the movies I am thoroughly not impressed at all.

That's a little unfair. How can they judge the movie before even seeing it?

You should. The movies cut out some parts which are important for character development and for explaining the series's backstory more properly. Furthermore, plot elements which are exceedingly important in later movies do not make any appearances at all in the earlier movies. Reading the entire series as a whole makes for a more satisfying experience because you can see how Rowling ties and connects everything together, no matter how insignificant they may seem at first.

Re: The Harry Potter Movie Thread

My friend has just booked! We're seeing it at some ultra-bizarre time.
I am looking forward to it, despite the fact I don't think it's going to be great... there's little logic in that - but roll on Wednesday.

Looks good. Any news on Deathly Hallows? I know it's going to be split into two movies but is there any other news?

I got my ticket for Wednesday at midnight. I don't think it will be very good, but I'm willing to pay $9 to see it anyways.

On July 18th I'm gonna show up at the cinema an hour early and buy. This movie is going to be the BEST.

Re: The Harry Potter Movie Thread

WOW. are you kidding me?! No funeral?! wtf

There are a number of changes from the book in the film. Much of the book's ending has been changed, with the climactic battle and Dumbledore's funeral being removed. Heyman commented that the end battle was removed to "(avoid) repetition" with the forthcoming adaptation of Deathly Hallows. The funeral was removed as it was believed it did not fit with the rest of the film

I'm really pissed off right now.

^What the fuck, you got a link to that?
That's seriously not cool, I hate how they always fuck up the movies from the books
