The Oasis continent. Built as the last refuge of humanity against the staggering, uninhabitable wasteland we used to know, as Earth. It is said in the legends that the band of heroes risked their very lives protecting humanity against the omnipotent malignant force known as the Black Destroyer. Now saved from the black clutches of the entity, the beast that brought down humanity at the brink of total annihilation, a crucial question was raised, is humanity really worth saving?

Oasis was supposedly fill the setting of a sanctuary for the surviving humanity, sheltered with the eternal blessing of the Solis Magnus. A force and power that was fabricated and crafted by the legendary heroes as their gift for us individuals. Everything seemed it was bliss for humanity. Until, we got hit by reality in the face.

Oasis was no sanctuary, it was the fire and brimstone of corruption. Here, the full potential of humanity to be inclined for the worse has presented itself; draped in black robe and dons a pair of black gauntlets that held us to each of our necks. A mere illusion of grandeur that was constantly being paraded into the eyes of the hopeful and innocent. Out of the fire then into hell itself; Oasis was nothing short of a worst case scenario, what would happen if the Black Destroyer had devoured our planet. Corruption, crime, murder, prostitution, violence; we are but one sin away from being the next circle of hell itself with the Arbitus Dictate as its procurator.

But amid the darkness, an unyielding light will always tore through the blackness of the void. Someone that will persevere through all this chaos in order to live their normal lives, carry on and make do with the smallest thing they can contribute. But apparently, the darkness is malicious being, it will not let that ray of light shine through its void without passing through its fang and claws. No matter how much these people try their earnest to make do, there is one unstoppable and untouchable entity that holds them back. The Arbitus Dictate.

Constantly harassing and abusing, the Dictate is the head of it all. They hold absolute power over Oasis and the ones that started the wildfire of corruption. They are the lone, proud Sequoia among the forest of darkness. The one's that deserves my enmity; and the newly-sprouted shoots, the people who just wanted to live their normal lives at a seemingly impossible odds, are the ones I'm fighting for. For I am the only one that has the almighty will and the proper arms against the Dictate. I shall save these people even if it means being a ruler for them, even if it means I would have to play by the rules of violence and murder, the very rules of Oasis itself. I am, what they call as... The Black King.

-------------------

The floating continent of Oasis, geographically, is impressive. This massive piece of floating earth is divided into 100 sectors and each sector or city is composed of 50 districts. Most of it were cramped slums and squatter area. And these sectors also are colossal floating pieces of earth that floats and rotates at a very very slow rate and they rotate around Sector 1, which is the main citadel of the Arbitus Dictate. Ancient history tells that once the world was believed to be flat, that you will fall off to space once you reach the ends of the seas. If that piece of history is realized, that would be the world of Oasis itself. It's awe-inspiring what wonders Solis Magnus can do.

The Oasis itself also aren't only by humans. Since the discovery of the Solis Magnus, humanity has learned to coincide with other species from other worlds as well. Demons, Elves, Earth-bound spirits, beings that are believed to be myths and legends and fiction. The Solis Magnus itself, helped created bridges from other worlds as well, so that humanity can learn from them. It was overwhelming at first, but the saviors of the realm made it possible for all of them to coexist. Soon, marital unions between other races and humans was made flesh and by the blessing of the Solis Magnus, they were given a new gift of life by conceiving half-ling infants that now populate the Oasis.

Sector 50, District 45

Sector 50, also known as the sin capital of Oasis and one of the most largest sectors albeit one of the most corrupt. This sector houses mountains of casino palaces, luxury hotels, luxury brothels, and even luxurious cesspits. As I walk through the bustling crowd of drunk nobles and high-ranking military officials on their leave; being accompanied with their wenches.

I can't help but to be extremely bothered by the atmosphere. Foul and vile it was almost sickening to look at. Normally, you will be dazzled by the glitz and glamour. But the only glitz here are the over-drunk men barfing on some alleyway, a prostitute being harassed by their pimps and nobles getting high on narcotics out in the open.

Thankfully, the mystic robe generated by my Solis-tech frame made it possible for me to blend in with crowds. The robe, cloak and scarf are crimson red in color and made from condensed gas that forms like a draped cloth. As I walked the main road, I turned left to a riddled alleyway. It was dark but the lights of the sin capital still reaches it though barely illuminating the alley.

From a distance, I saw someone at a distance. A child, laying on the cold steel ground. Freezing her boots off and crying. I approached her and look down on her. She seemed to notice my presence.

"Mister? Do you have anything I can eat? I'm starving..."

The little girl said in a sobbing gibberish, wiping the snot off her nose. I didn't utter a word under my black mask. I reached down my pocket, pulling out a hard bread and knelt down to her. "Haaa..." She gasped as if she never saw bread before, the girl was happy. I gently pat her hair as she gleefully ate the food I gave her. I stood up and began walking away. As I take a few steps, I look back and to my surprise, she wasn't following me. Well that's that I suppose.

After more walking, I finally reached the end of the alleyway, the Solis square of District 45. The center of the entire Sector. I look around to see a much more fouler atmosphere than the main road. Most of these buildings are Brothels and the Solis square is where the Solis Magnus of the entire sector is situated and its surrounded by brothels? Sickening sacrilege. People have absolutely no qualms about what they are stepping on. I began to take a few steps looking left and right and up scanning my surroundings.

-Legacy of the rose and the Azure champion-

Sector 50, district 49.

The young man sighed as he rotated his left shoulder, he had dislocated it during his mission earlier, luckily his strong arm was uninjured so he could still fight but he couldn't fight at his best because his sword was two-handed. He kept rotating it until the bone popped back into place. He soon cursed as one last burst of pain rippled into his arm and torso.

The red hood draped over his head fell and soon he heard: "There he is! Retrieve the papers he acquired otherwise we won't get paid!"

The relief of Renn's arm proved he could use it but he didn't want to strain the arm even further with excessive combat. The three Mercenaries following him. He drew his blade with his strong arm and traced his weak hand over it. It ignited into a bright blue flame and in three swift motions he killed the sellswords without putting his weak hand on the hilt.

"Turncoats... They draw upon other mercenaries like me for the sake that they can't complete a job or they just can't find work in general." Wiping his blade of blood he sheathed it once more at his belt.

He kept walking unaware of where he was going except he knew he had to meet someone in a place of questionable function at least it seemed to be for him.

Sector 50 District 45.

I walked toward my destination with no other thoughts in mind other than being paid for my efforts. I walked into the door of what seemed to be a brothel in the area surrounding the Solis Square of Sector 50. At least this one had the decency to work like a proper business and wave clients and associates in and out like an executive office building.

I walked up to the desk and mentioned my employer's name and my own to the secretary and she said: "Oh he's been expecting you... I'll bring you to his room." We walked down the hall to the elevator and as I observed the interior it was very lavish... Velvet wallpaper with gold Filigree designs looped in extravagance to show you needed to be a high roller to receive pleasure here. This particular employer usually met me in places like this so he could get me to enjoy myself but it never really worked... I was never the type to indulge in the pleasure of being served like that... If I wanted a woman for myself I`d earn one the old fashioned way. But I was still young and strong I did not need to settle down yet.

I was soon guided to the room of my client and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" I heard through the door. "It's me."

"Enter." I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door. I walked in to see a gruff looking lieutenant commander from the White Armada with a wench hanging off his shoulder. "Hey Renn! you came right when I expected you! why don't you stay here for the night? My lovely here said she has a roommate who would be to your liking." he said as his face spread into a goofy smirk. "As I said after my first mission with you I'm not interested in hiring sex slaves and besides last one you tried to force on me was an AIDS carrier."
" I'm sorry about that one ok? Just stay for a bit, we'll smoke a bowl and I'll pay you after you meet her she's already on her way..."
I grumbled. I never turned down a bowl from this guy because it meant that he needed someone other than a whore to accompany him. He was probably gonna meet his superior here as well because he did mention the mission did come from elite ranks even higher than him... They just use him as their go between.

"Fine." I took a seat next to him on the couch and fetched the documents from out of my pocket and placed them on the table in front of me. I expected someone coming and within 5 minutes I heard a knock at the door...

" Who is it?"

" Kira's friend."

"Ok come in." With those words a cute half-elf girl with ocean blue hair walked in. Although my expression held She was very beautiful and having pointed ears did make her seem much more exotic. I lowered my gaze to the floor in front of me to hide my blush.

"I told you she was cute! now listen army boy over here's my client so you can hang with his friend right there okay Sephi?"

"I'd be happy to." She sat next to me. "Hey."

"Hello..."

"Are you gonna tell me your name?"

"Not thinking on it... If you knew it your life would become much more dangerous."

" I can take it... I have Solis Magnus on my side... I am a assistant to a magister after all and everyone with a official job within the magistrate all have use of it's power."

" doesn't everyone know that?"

"Yes."
Our conversation was cut off by a pounding series of knocks on the door. "Come in Superior..." A largely built tanned man walked through the door... He had a muscle shirt on that was decorated with military crests and medals of all kinds.

"Sir, here is the man you wanted to meet..."

The man looked at me... "He's pretty small are you sure he's the one who you hire all the time?"

I stood up. "I am. Renn Allen Gurski at your service."

"I heard you were pretty young but to think you're one of the best mercenaries in Oasis seems a bit outlandish."

" I don't brag about who I am I just state the facts but the people that know me sometimes exaggerate my talents."

" You have a pretty level head on your shoulders. now onto business... did you kill the target and retrieve the documents?"
"Yes... Don't bother looking for the body it`s over the edge of Oasis."

"As arranged... good job... where are the documents?"

"On the table but I must leave..." We both turned to my colleague and looked at him.

"Here you are." He tossed a wad of cash to me and I stashed it and left.

But I was soon stopped outside the entrance by the Half-elf. She handed me a piece of paper.

"Here. Call me when you can okay?"

"Okay. I might just do that... Oh and Renn."

"What?"

"My name is Renn."

"Okay see you around Renn!"

--The Hunt-- Sector 50 District 56 Max walked through the the back street that he believed would be fruitful for his midday hunt. Finding mostly peasants that hadn't eaten for days and had a lack of blood only dissatisfied him more. Just earlier v his only ally, Alt, had wandered off when he had turned his back to talk to a young elven women. Now to worsen the matter there were only bloodless fools wandering the streets. Max hadn't feed for a week, nearing his breaking point, in which, he would feed on all those around him. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a noblewoman pass him. Quickly, acting on instinct, Max spun around and invited her to chat in a dark ally. Having believed she was being seduced by a handsome Nobleman she followed him. Once they were both properly hidden, Max's fangs emerged. Lunging forward, he bit into the woman's neck. She yelped as the crimson liquid flowed over Max's toung. He didn't kill her, as he didn't wish to be arrested, but instead left just enough to keep her alive. Once again his senses heightened from a recent hunt. He sniffed the air for Alt, smelling the foul smells of the brothels near his target, he scowled and headed in that direction.

~- Unexpected Encounter -~

The Oasis - Sector 50, District 45

Alison listened to the chatter around the brothel; she'd just finished assigning one client to a fiery red head that had recently joined her brothel. Humming softly, she slipped out from behind the desk and wove her way through the crowd; heading straight for the door just as one of her girls lead a client out, who seemed fairly happy with the service he'd been offered. Waiting until the client was gone, Alice cocked her head to the side at the worried look on the brunette's face.

"What troubles you, Sara?"

She watched as the brunette locked pinkish-purple eyes onto the dark green almost black eyes that of the Madame. She watched as Sara bowed to her as she answered, "The client spoke of a civil war that was brewing, and the people that are trying to start it support the Black King. There is also a strange rumor of a man in red wandering around town; I couldn't get any more info than that out of him though."

Biting her lip, Alice nodded her head in acknowledgment of what had been softly reported; so that way no one around could overhear the report. "Good job Sara, go find another client to try and get more information on the situation. I'm going to hit the streets and see what I can find; so I will be back in a few hours. Besides, the earth whispers that there is something amiss and I do not wish to leave it unchecked." She whispered, being careful to keep her voice low so, again, no one around the two courtesans overheard their discussion.

Alice watched as Sara bowed once more before the pinkish-purple eyed, brown-haired courtesan slipped away to try to gather more information on the rumors floating around town. It only took a few heartbeats, before Alice turned to the door and headed outside. Weaving her way through the streets, Alice searched for anything that could serve as a clue for who the person in red was...only to walk straight into them and be sent sprawling to the ground.

Landing hard on her rear, Alice quickly scrambled to her feet and flinched as a stab of pain shot through her. Even though she was irritated by the collision, Alice asked politely, "Apologizes, I was not paying attention to where I was going. Are you alright?"

~- Only A Crack -~

Sector 50, District 56

Slap, slap, slap.

Kiba raced through the streets, trying to put distance between him and the group of soldiers that were racing behind him. He wasn't sure how, but somehow he'd managed to get separated from the Black King and land himself in a bunch of trouble. A surge of panic driving him forward, Kiba rounded another corner; not even bothering to pay attention to where he was going. Feeling the familiar itch beneath his skin, Kiba stumbled slightly and closed his eyes; attempting to Will himself to dissolve into a breeze.

It took him only a few moments for it to kick in, laughing triumphantly as it happened; Kiba wound his way through the crowds and leaving the soldiers far behind him. Sensing something below him, Kiba glanced down and saw Max below him, feeding on something that the boy was almost certain was something that he did not need to see. It was right then that his powers started to act up; struggling to keep himself from materializing and falling from the height he was; Kiba quickly lowered himself toward the ground, before he finally couldn't keep it under control.

Materializing again, Kiba fell toward the ground; which was conveniently right above Max, and called out in warning, "Look out!"

I walked casually towards the Solis Center of the Solis square. I can hear the sound of insipid wenches calling out to me as I pass through the crowd. They seem to be intrigued by my cover or to be rather specific, "curious" in their terms. But a cent of attention, they will not get from me.

I ignored their calls of temptation, and most of these wenches weren't human at all. Succubi, lesser demons of allure and pleasure, they are the race that dominate this sector, albeit the most aggressive in calling out their potential clients. And the meek ones were half-lings and other mixed races barely scraping by through dishonorable means. Those were the ones who deserve my sympathy. Drawn to the underworld of the red-light district at a young age just to pay debts and give food to the table.

As I near the Solis Center, I reached out my hand and closed my eyes to feel its presence. "... crying." I muttered. I felt deep despair on its Solis Magnus. The sentient force has absorbed all the suffering the sector had to give and it tears me up from the inside. I need to plan out my actions regarding this, and I'm starting worry about the two misfits that tagged along with me. Not that I care, but it would be a terrible drag if someone was be hurt because of me.

Then, when I was about to turn around, I think I just accidentally bumped into someone. I didn't felt the force of the bump, but it was right in front of me. A woman falling flat on her hind.

"Apologizes, I was not paying attention to where I was going. Are you alright?"

I looked at her, a woman. She's different from all the others in the sector. She's like a single blooming lily upon the dirty and muddy pond. I dusted her beautiful kimono dress, "... no, I am at fault. I did not looked where I was going. Are you hurt?" I was at my utmost modesty, 'tis rude to have a lady apologize from you when you are at fault. As I rest my black arm aside, my palm brushed through hers by coincidence and almost in an instant I felt a sting inside my head. "Agh!" It was like being hit with a shot-put right in the noggin', her innermost suffering come rushing through me, thanks to the Red Eclipse.

~crossing paths~
Sector 50 District 45.

Now that my mission is over... It's time for me to go home...
He sighed as he walked towards the Solis square again. He spotted a drunk trudging toward him. He averted his gaze as he strode over into the entrance of a bank he acquainted himself with. He activated the machine and took 75% of his payment and put it in a provided envelope on the side of the terminal. He put the rest of the money into the wallet that was chained through his belt loop. As he pulled through the door he was stopped by the same drunk he spotted before. "Hey buddy long time no see you remember our little deal last time you were here?"

He recalled about three months ago when he was pulled into a house by a older man and was hid under a table and protected by this man who spared him from a trio of bloodthirsty mercenaries known around Oasis as the 9 squad. Three, Trois, and Tres. they were annoying as all heck but they had a delta attack strategy that kept Renn from killing them easily. That was until last night when he figured it out and they jumped him during his latest mission. "Oh yeah... what do you need?"

"I saved your life so I'd say, $350 for a nice booty girl for the night, 3 packs of smokes, and bottle of rum." "I can cover that..." "good cuz next time I might not see you again either one of us could be dead after what I did fer you. Hic!" "Not likely I killed them already." "oh really?" "You have my word now here's your hooker money." He stuffed the money into the drunk's pocket as they both walked to a nearby strip mall. He went and got the drunk what he wanted and he turned away. He looked toward the square again to see that a woman had ran into a cloaked figure reminiscent of a desert nomad. The color scheme seemed to remind him of something, or someone.

He walked toward the group when he caught the glimpse of a streak of purple hair as he walked through the crowd and turned his attention to the woman.

She had been following him since he started his mission 3 days ago... She wanted a sense of how he was during his work. Her observations based on her interviews of the associates of his within the armada and the magistrate. Raelyn smiled as she looked at his face it still had the innocence he had when she knew him in the blue Luna testing facility although he also had the gruffness of someone who had gone through much more than just childhood torture and as she heard of his records that's what happened. "Hey Renn... Remember me? your older sister Raelyn?"

"Raelyn?" His head rang at the mention of his name. Ever since he had attained the Blue luna his memories started flooding back in visions... He remembered a girl with dark purple hair, 6 years older than him, they shared a room. They both gave each other names. She still had the same face, but her hair color was similar yet drastically different. "Raelyn..." He stepped toward her with a glassy look in his eyes and hugged her but was unfamiliar with the feeling of her boobs between them so he refrained from pushing too close. "Onee-chan!!!!!! you look so different I almost couldn't recognize you!" She wrapped her arms around him and smiled. "I missed you too..."

--Reunion--District 50 Sector 56 Just as Max was about to leave to find Alt, he heard a scream from above, "Watch out!" Recognizing Kiba's voice, he looked up and attempted to catch the boy. Luckily for Kiba he was successful. The boy landed hard into Max's arms. "Kiba, are you still having trouble controlling your powers? You should use them more sparingly," Max said, then he placed the boy on his feet.

~- A Glimpse At the Truth -~

"... no, I am at fault. I did not looked where I was going. Are you hurt?"

Alison took the hand that was offered to her, only to quickly let go as she sensed the pain that shot through the gentleman. She cocked her head to the side, her eyes sad and curious because of the away the man reacted. Giving herself a quick once over, she looked back at him and answered, "No, I am fine, thank you for the assistance and concern. Are you okay?" She felt guilty for hurting him, knowing that the pain he'd felt was from the accidentally transfer that had happened between them.

Alice's attention was briefly dragged away as a red-haired courtesan ran up and stumbled slightly bumping into her. Recognizing the girl, she reached out a hand and steadied the dark-skinned girl as she asked gently, a motherly tone creeping in there, "What's wrong?" She watched as the pale violet eyes snapped up and met her gaze, and Alice growled low in her throat as she saw the tears and fear in the courtesan's eyes.

"Bianca, what's wrong?"

"It's the White Armada, there's rumors that the Black King's in town; and considering how rowdy some of the guys in the Armada can be like..." Bianca trailed off as another sob escaped her, the faintest hint of a bruise appearing on the girl's arm where she had been grabbed to hard. She ran her fingers along the hint of it, watching as the girl flinched causing Alice's eyes to darken.

"Go back to the brothel, I'll meet up with you there." Alice ordered gently, not saying anything as the girl nodded and ran off. Turning to look at the gentleman that helped, she shrugged and explained softly, "It's not like I want this life, it's just something I've gotten forced into to protect my kids and by extension, I view the girls at the brothel as my children."

~- Hello My Friend -~

Kiba grunted a little bit as Max caught him, looking at his vampire-elf companion, he looked at him blinking as Max scolded, "Kiba, are you still having trouble controlling your powers? You should use them more sparingly."

Kiba shrugged at it, knowing that it was true but not quite feeling like responding. Instead he looked around the alley, making sure they were alone before he asked, "Where do you think Alt ran away to? As for your question, why I'm answering this I don't know, but yeah I am. I'm only ten, and in reality my race doesn't get full control of their powers until we're adults." He mentally kicked himself for answering Max in regards to his powers, after all it'd probably lead to him being scolded for not having them under control yet.

Rocking back and forth, he asked again, "So, um, where are you headed to Max?"

"No, I am fine, thank you for the assistance and concern. Are you okay?"

'Tis nice to know that you can still find a caring hand among the vileness and unpleasant atmosphere. I was shocked by the sudden jolt of pain but this is nothing to be at loss of my composure. I stood up erect. "'Tis okay, I--just startled by a sudden... thought that came to my mind." I know that was rather a pathetic response but it's the least I can give.

I just can't focus at the moment like I was entranced by some sort of magic or Solis Magnus. Was it her? Well she does make my head ring. And her face makes my blood boil--wait what am I even saying?! Am I attracted to her? No no no... Not now, time is crucial. Base needs comes for the latter. I then reached for my forehead and rubbed it to calm me down. 'Tis a good thing I'm wearing a mask because I can feel myself flustered under it.

"Hmm?"

As I was about to take my leave when another girl came stumbling through before us. Stressed and from the looks of it, she was under heavy duress and the bruises and sign of struggle. It seemed that the girl met a rather unpleasant company. By nobles or by drunks, the answer matters little.

"It's the White Armada, there's rumors that the Black King's in town; and considering how rowdy some of the guys in the Armada can be like..."

So they finally snuffed my presence and deployed a detachment unit after me. Rather underhanded even for the Armada. I guess they're cutting their resources short pursuing me. How flattering. But for them to deploy at the mere scent of rumor is surprising to say the least. I guess the old man is becoming more attentive and less senile. Heh. So after the girl was dismissed by the woman she turned to me again.

"It's not like I want this life, it's just something I've gotten forced into to protect my kids and by extension, I view the girls at the brothel as my children."

She was like the others, people who have been forced-fed to this kind of living. Undeserving of fate such as this. "You need not worry, ma'am. I'm not to judge a person by the way of his/her life. There are some would take life and limb to get by this kind of society even if it means sinking down low. And the fact that you give these women a choice, a home where they can run to in this place of no return, is a respectable deed. I admire such dedication." I said. Indeed I was, people like her are rare in this kind of society. No matter how vile every sector I have visited, there is always a single lily like her floating on the muddy pond, blooming with all its majesty.

"Well I have to take my leave ma'am. There is business afoot. And I would advise not to get out while the Armada is around." That was the least I give for her, a word of caution. Because the Black King is not the real threat. The Armada is likely to pose more threat to these good peoples' lives than me. "I'm terribly sorry to make this meeting short, but should we cross paths again... you would have to give me your name." A jest but deep down I was looking forward to it.

Not long until a rush of crowd pass through. I used the opportunity to use the ability of my Solis to relocate myself atop one of the dark rooftops of the red-light district; away from the beautiful courtesan's sight in a blink of an eye. Where the shadows hide my entire identity. It was not before long when the mantle generated by my Solis-Tech frame dissipated into thin air. Guess that timing couldn't be any perfect. It would take some time but for now, I need the shadows to show me the path and plan ahead before an entire White Armada squadron close this sector down. Or worse, the Magistrate sticking their nose where they don't belong.

I retraced my steps and went to the alleyway where I have been beforehand but this time, up high. Can't risk of anyone catching the glimpse of me.

"No! Give it back!"

"Huh?" A voice, a call for help. I heard it as clear as day. I immediately zoomed off to the direction of the sound. Traversing the rooftops as fast as lightning yet quiet as the cold breeze. And then I came to a commotion below.

"That's my food! Give it back!"

"Interestin' to say the least. Where did you get this kid?"

"A man gave it to me, please. I just want a fill. I'm starving."

"Awww... Cryin' already? I bet you stole this."

Just what I need. Armada grunts. Seems they've split up instead of sweeping the whole sector in one group. They're getting more meticulous. And wait a second... That's the little girl from earlier! The one I found sleeping beside the alley.

"I said shut up!"

"Ahhh!"

Beings most vile. The bastards hitting children. The blow from the grunt was so strong that it knocked the poor girl out. That being these grunts are enhanced with Solis Magnus quips, all that privilege to harass innocent people rather than bringing direct justice to enemies. I could not stand by any longer. I jumped from the ledge and landing in perfect form and weight enough to dent the ground.

I got their attention at first glance. Good. I glared at them with my identity still hidden in the shadows.

"Eh? Who are you? This is official business! You best stay out of this citizen!"

"Official business? I know the old man would do more than just harass little girls. So don't give me that bullshit." My tone was as calm and collective I can make it but deep down, I was holding the anger back a great deal. "What was that? How dare you bad-mouth an official! That is punishable by prosecution and death!" The grunt spat clearly overestimating his authority. Another run-at-the-mill corrupt agents of authorities.

"So officials nowadays ran out of criminals to fight so they hit little girls instead?" And indeed they were, how could the old man miss this travesty of the once proud White Armada. "I've heard enough of you!" The grunt slammed his Solis gauntlets together and launched an energy bullet generated by his fist. Child's play. It wasn't long before Red Eclipse sensed the attack. I felt a rush of energy channeled through my body and immediately, Red Eclipse raised an Insignia Barrier. A barrier made of counter-acting Solis Magnus that neutralizes low to mid-tier attacks.

"What the?"

"I won't let any of you abuse any innocent people so think again. If you want a fight, it'll be with me. So which one of you wants a quick trip to an early grave?" My dead stare was enough to pierce through stone as I approached them slowly. Warning to retaliate anytime if they will do something as foolish as that again.

"Just who the hell are you?!"

"I am what I am. You're not worthy of my name being told to." The red energy that flows through me was becoming more apparent as it glow through the trims of my mechanical body. The grunts couldn't help but smile in grim as they finally found a reason for them to resort violence. "Now we can legitimately call this was self-defense..." The grunts ready their weapons as they surround me in every angle.

There was stillness in the air, pressure building up. My mechanical saya automatically folded down to my hip and I took stance.

"Kill him!"

With that signal, all of them charged at me all at once. I pulled the trigger on my mechanical scabbard and launched the sword from the sheathe to my grasp. And in my vision all of them were coming at me in slow motion. I can see perfectly well. Their stance, form and what attack they will make. With a single flash, I used my lightning-quick flexes to swing my sword faster than a normal individual can see. It may seem like a single blade flash but there were 10 connecting swings to it.

I sheathe my sword ad as the tsuba hit the saya, all of them were instantly mutilated by my attack. And that was pure strength alone. I refrain as much as possible to use Red Eclipse. It's always an unpleasant experience when I use it.

Quickly, I rushed to the unconscious girl. "Hang on." Those bastards, the blow she received cracked her rib. She needs immediate medical help. I carried her in my arms and immediately rushed back to the Solis center where I ran to the courtesan earlier. I generated another red cloak as I was rushing to hide my identity. I arrived back at the Solis square of Sector 50, District 45 not too soon and carried the unconscious girl to the Solis center. My sudden presence caused quite a commotion but that does not amount to the help she needs right now.

-So the hunt begins-

Renn's senses honed as he heard some commotion not far off and he turned away from Raelyn in an attempt to listen to what was going on... "Solis Magnus was being used... Both Military grade and an unknown form."

"Kill him!"

He recognized that voice... It was the same guy who handed him his payment. He rushed over to see a multitude of bodies and injured men He spotted his benefactor among the living. "What happened?"

"Red Eclipse... The crest that protected him was of Red... Eclipse... You must find him... only you can stop him."

Renn's eyes flared with the power of the Blue Luna. "The Black King is here then." He then returned to his former place and met up with Raelyn. "You must leave... Your life is in danger."

"No Renn! Don't throw your life away!"

"I must Raelyn... this man threatens the world we live in I'm the only one who can stop him, if we can even call him a man... he's more like a mechanical monster."

"But what if you die? Don't you want to live?"

"I've fulfilled all my goals now that I've seen you again... my last is to end The black king with my own hands... even if it takes my life I will kill him. Now I must search..."

He soon turned around and began walking... People were a bit uneasy because of the attack and an air of uncertainty cloaked over all of them. The White armada officers that didn't participate in the massacre were even more jumpy.

He soon heard a whisper from a distance.

"Good luck... Brother."

He smiled. He was soon caught off guard by the Nomad he spotted once before carrying a little girl in his arms rushing to the Solis center. He might've been present to the scene where the Black king attacked because she might have been a citizen caught in the crossfire. He followed behind at a brisk pace.

---Where is He?---

Max looked down at Kiba and thought about how he had said the second part of that sentence and thought he heard a hint of regret in the boy's voice. Max shrugged and listened to the new words forming on Kiba's lips. "So, um, where are you headed to Max?"

"Oh, I think Alt should be....." Max damned his senses for dissapating so quickly as he pointed in the general direction of where he had smelled Alt earlier and uncertainly stated, "over there? I was headed in that direction but falling children can be distracting," he kidded, then, from the direction that max had pointed had come a call of "KILL HIM!"

"Alt!" Max roared and began to build up speed but stopped at the end of the ally, "Come on, Alt is in trouble!"

~- Mirrored in Maiden's Eyes -~

Sector 50, District 45

The soft scratching of a pen, the only sound to break the silence of the room for the last hour, finally ceased as Harmony reached the end of the books. Having balanced the records for both the Rosa Nocturne's finances and what their girls had discovered from loose tongued nobles and officials, Harmony concluded that the past week's operation had been enormously successful. The girl gently closed the books and placed the pen back at the top of the desk before she linked her fingers over her head and arched her back, indulging in a luxurious stretch to ease the ache in her muscles from being hunched over for so long.

Once she was satisfied, Harmony jumped off the high backed chair she had been seated on and made an immediate path from the records room to the back of the brothel. Though the books were in good order, she'd noticed that they were low on opiates, something that needed to be remedied before the evening rush of clients came in and demanded the attention of all their girls, Harmony included. So she tread a swift path through the brothel, passing by numerous doors, some sealed, others open to reveal peeks into rooms that showed a tasteful opulence. There were few courtesans about at this hour of the afternoon; the ones who were were busy with cleaning while their sisters that had worked the night before attended to some much needed rest.

Reaching the back door, Harmony paused long enough to pull her cloak and gloves from a hidden closet and slip them on, then she slipped out of the brothel and onto the busy streets of the district. Melding into the flow of pedestrians, she allowed the crowd to carry her until she had reached the Solis Center that their brothel conducted the majority of their business with. Taking the steps with a light tread, she rapped her knuckles quickly on the door, a special rhythm implemented in the sound to let the doctors know just who was there.

Harmony waited a moment, then repeated the knock. After a moment, the door cracked open, revealing a young doctor with ashy blond hair and deep brown eyes. A smile spread across his face as he threw the portal open, his voice warm as he said, "Good afternoon, Ms. Harmony. To what do I owe the pleasure of your fine company?"

A soft smile curved across Harmony's own lips as she stepped into the clinic, her eyes glinting with a mischievous light as she laughed, "Much as I wish that I were just here for your company, Dr. Thomas, I'm afraid that this is a matter of business today. We're running very low on opiates, and I was hoping that you might supply me with a fresh stock."

The young doctor hid his disappointment well. Giving her a cheeky wink, he said, "Very well, on to business. Perhaps later tonight?"

"Perhaps," Harmony answered, her mouth still wide open in a smile. But before Thomas could lead her to where they kept the opiates for surgery and pain management, a cry went up from the front of the building. Both their attentions drawn to it, Harmony hissed, "What the devil?"

"Took the words right out of my mouth," Thomas said, the smile sliding off his face to be replaced by a much sterner expression. Without a further word, both of them made their way to the front of the clinic. Once there, they realized that a tall man wearing a scarlet cloak was the center of the uproar; through the storm of frantic receptionists, Harmony saw the small form of a young girl that the man held close to his chest.

Realizing that everyone else seemed to be in quite the panic for some odd reason, Harmony slammed her foot against the floor, using just a small measure of magic to create a noise loud enough to gather the attention of everyone in the room. Turning a reproachful eye on the receptionists, Harmony said coolly, "Enough. We may live in one of the worst sectors of the Oasis, but that is no reason to react in such a way to a client, even one cloaked such as this gentleman. You are professionals; act like it!"

Turning to Thomas, Harmony said softly, "Take the girl." Turning back to the man in red, Harmony waited a moment until Thomas had taken the child from the stranger before she spoke again. "If you would follow me, sir, I have questions for you. Who is the child? How do you know her, and where did you meet? Do you know what ails her?" All of these questions were spoken quickly as she walked after Thomas, her shoulders set in such a way that it was clear for all to see that Harmony fully expected the cloaked man to follow her.

~- Hello Again Stranger -~

"You need not worry, ma'am. I'm not to judge a person by the way of his/her life. There are some would take life and limb to get by this kind of society even if it means sinking down low. And the fact that you give these women a choice, a home where they can run to in this place of no return, is a respectable deed. I admire such dedication."

Alison smiled to herself, she could tell this one was a rare gem. She listened to what the man said, even nodding in acknowledgement about not getting out while the Armada was crawling through the city. Alison laughed slightly at his apology and at the comment about them needing to exchange words; she watched as he retreated for similar minutes; Alison tried to place her finger on the emotion that had washed over during her encounter with the man. Shrugging the emotion away, she turned on her heal and headed back to the brothel.

She heard the angry shouts from the Armada, she forced herself to keep moving back to the brothel. Walking through the door, she looked around at the girls that was littering the lobby and the different clients that were waiting for available girls. Hanging by the door, she watched as the girls continued with their work and them gathering information. It was a good thing too, because it let her catch a glimpse of that man again as he was carrying a little girl in his arms, heading straight for the Solis Center and totally missing her.

Immediately registering that the child needed help, Alison didn't even say anything as she bolted out the door and followed after the man she'd been talking to; calling over her shoulder, "Bianca, have a room ready and get the girls to get these clients taken care of! I'll be back in a while, there's something that I need to check into really quick but it shouldn't take me too long." Even as she said this, the door to the brothel was swinging shut as she hurried down the street.

Walking into the Solis Center right behind the man, she asked, "What's going on? Also, hello again, the name's Alison Greene; what's your name?" She said, directing that last piece straight to the man in red.

~- It's Not That Easy -~

Sector 25, Section 45, a couple of hours earlier

Melody ducked the punch the thug threw at her, reaching up and grabbing his wrist; her eyes flashed in anger as she grabbed his wrist and twisted. This succeeded in two things, the first was that it threw the idiot off balance enough that he fell; the second was that it broke the guy's wrist and told him that he shouldn't underestimate her just because of who she was. Dancing to the right, Melody reached out and grabbed a hold of another guy's arm as she yanked it up and behind the guy's back hard. Tilting her head to the right, she asked coldly, "This is the last time I'll ask, why is there a rumor about the Black King being in town going around? What proof do you have?"

"I don't know, it's just what I've heard from the others!"

Tightening her grip, Melody heard the guy whimper, and she had to give the guy credit; he was holding up fairly well considering she was putting unnecessary pressure on the guy's injured wrist. She thought of the others back at the Watchers and softened her voice a tiny fraction, "Please, I don't want to hurt you; but I need answers."

"Go to hell you bitch, crawl back to the military and be the good little whore that you are," the guy snarled.

Melody didn't react to it for several minutes, but once she did it was fast.

Yanking him around so he faced her, Melody slammed him against the wall and whipped her tanto out of its sheath and had it pinned against his throat. Her eyes flashing in rage, Melody spat, "Look, I get it you hate me and my guts; but let's get one thing straight. I'm not a whore and just because I work for the military, I don't enjoy this shitty job. Now, before my blade gets a new dye job; how about you give me the answers I seek." Melody could tell that the person wouldn't give it; between the previous exchange and him going through and glaring at her, so with a tiny bit of reluctance and satisfaction, she yanked the blade across the guy's throat.

She watched him choke on his own blood and, without batting an eye, she turned on her heel and walked away; trying to think of where she could go to get a better lead now that her only one had a brand new smile across his throat. Cleaning the blade as she walked away, Melody stepped out of the alleyway and looked around, before she blended into the crowd; her blade sheathed, she let the crowd carry her toward the next destination; unaware that she was about to have an encounter with an extremely strong lead on the rumor.

"Any luck?"

Looking at Rhys as he fell into step with her, she shook her head and listened as Rhys reported, "Yeah, same here; but I hear people have caught wind of the Hellion being nearby."

"The Hellion?"

"Yeah, you'd know the guy better as Dante Ascher."

Melody was quiet with this piece of information, she only faintly remembered Dante; so it's not like there was any real attachment to him that she felt. Melody knew that Rhys was close to the half-ling; just like the rest of the older Watchers; so she didn't say a word as she followed behind Rhys as they headed out of the district they were currently in to try and get some information in a different location.

~- Familiar Sensation -~

"Oh, I think Alt should be....over there? I was headed in that direction but falling children can be distracting."

Kiba was normally very mature considering his young age, but at Max's jab, the ten-year-old closed one eye and quite childishly stuck his tongue out at the older half-ling. He quickly followed into step behind Max as the vampire-elf hybrid got moving; but Kiba did stumble to standstill as he heard a bellowed order cut through the air, "KILL HIM!"

Kiba heard Max roar and take off running, but something kept Kiba rooted to the spot. He almost contemplated closing his eyes when Max snapped, "Come on, Alt is in trouble!"

His head snapped up at that command, flushing slightly, Kiba quickly ran down to the other end of the alley and looked up at Max. "Sorry, I got distracted by something; let's get going." Kiba spoke calmly, the slightly flush that had been on his face moments before no longer there. He fell into step behind Max after the latter got going again, unfortunately this led to Kiba bumping into someone and falling to the ground; muttering a curse under his breath as the person knelt down to the ground.

"You okay little guy?"

"Melody, we don't have time for this; we've got to finish with these leads."

Kiba looked at the two in front of him, recognizing them as two members of the White Armada; he scrambled backward as the woman turned to look at her company. "Rhys, the Hellion and the Black King can wait; my biggest concern at the moment is this child; now shut up and let me find out if he's okay."

Kiba's eyes darted between the two before they landed on Max only to land on the girl (Melody was it?) again. Suddenly feeling incredibly shy, Kiba nodded his head in answer and was shocked as Melody picked him up and addressed her friend, "Come on, let's get him to the Rosa Nocturne so he can have a place to stay for now; you know how the Greenes will take in children for a little while to give them a safe place to stay."

He couldn't help but smile at the woman's words, closing his eyes Kiba couldn't help the compassion that this woman was like Harmony, but with a bitchier attitude. Kiba let himself drift off to slip in time to the steady rhythm of footfalls and the woman's humming; because with his eyes closed he could almost imagine that it was his mother or his sister that was carrying him.

My actions had stirred such commotion, I can feel the little girl pinching my garb in pain, crying, begging to stop the pain that intrudes her. I took her as fast as I could to the Solis Center, hoping I could tap in to the power of the sector's Solis Magnus to mend her wounds.

But before I could do anything, a group of people rushed to me at my aid. From the looks of it, although they look raggedy at best, they donned the uniform of a clinic personnel. Right now was not the time for doubts, the girl needed immediate care and attention. In doing so, I handed to them the girl at their care. As I let go of the little girl, she held on to my garb and watched as it slowly slip away from her little hands. Her eyes open, brimming with tears and longing for my touch like a daughter to a parent; she was still reaching for me.

At that moment, the entire world stopped around me, and I was focused on the little girl reaching for me. All the more to fuel the fires of my cause.

"If you would follow me, sir, I have questions for you. Who is the child? How do you know her, and where did you meet? Do you know what ails her?"

A woman had approached me, she looked like one of the personnel attending to the clinic. Without any sparing moment, she had asked me an array of questions. A normal protocol of the scrubs in an emergency situation. Regardless, I did my best to entertain her questions as plainly as possible.

"She was assaulted by military louts near the alleyway. Suffered a broken rib and a possibility of a punctured lung."

As I state what ailed the little girl, I did my best to gain composure and kept a straight face. Because reliving what the louts claim to be in the White Armada, did to the poor defenseless girl; it makes me wanna punch something just for the sake of demolishing. Not before long, a familiar face came along. A face from just moments passed, the beautiful courtesan from earlier.

"What's going on?"

She attended to the personnel. I would love to talk to her again, but unlike earlier, my mood now isn't for talking. I can feel the Red Eclipse's power rushing through in me like an endless torrent of power waiting to be unleashed. As I realize now, if I keep this delay, more like that little girl will get hurt. I can feel the armada's strength rallying all over this sector, this city will become a battleground.

"---the name's Alison Greene; what's your name?"

I have heard her name. It brought me a bit of ease and comfort to finally knowing her name at last. I walked past her, overlooking at the Solis Center. My cloak was slowly dissipates, I had figured this would be the last time I would talk to her like this.

"Ms. Greene... I would like to suggest you take your girls and anyone you can convince to get to a safe area." My scarlet cloak is now dissipating at a rapid pace and is now down at my very neck. "They're coming... This place will soon become a battlefield." My back was turned, and the cloak had finally faded on my visage. Revealing my dark and foreboding presence before her.

"'Tis nice to talk with you again. The name's Alt--"

With a last smile and a gesture of warmth to her. I had immediately faded before their eyes, before I set up any more commotion. It is time to set my plans to action...
