This July, Halo comes to the comic book world in an ONGOING SERIES. Marvel is publishing the series. The Eisner Award-winning team of superscribe Brian Michael Bendis and artist extraordinaire Alex Maleev unleash an epic story of mankind's struggle against the alien threat of the Covenant.

This is the premise for the first Issue-

Picking up from the conclusion of blockbuster video game Halo 2, the must-read issue reveals how the Master Chief, while onboard a hostile ship headed towards Earth, is battling against Covenant forces! Intertwined with Master Chief's interstellar one-man-war is the saga of a great American city's rebellion and downfall, two disparate lives' collision and shared fate, and the Convenant's hunt for an ancient relic of untold power and value. With hope dwindling and the fate of humanity hanging by a thread, is there any chance for a future? Read this debut issue to start the journey into the Halo universe!

The first issue will be 3.99 and be 40 pages long. The first arc of the series is four parts, and titled Uprising.

This will lead up to Halo 3. Since there is about two weeks between the end of Halo 2 and when Chief finally arrives in the Sol System. The end of Halo 2, when Chief states he's going to "Finish The Fight" is two weeks after Chief leaves from High Charity. This will give some hints about Halo 3, but the four part arc, which leads up to Chief arriving at Earth, will lead into November, when Halo 3 is released.

i have all 4 so far and there very good and give some views from other people rather than just master chief which i think is good :]

their only making them to promote halo 3

This has nothing to do with JUST promoting Halo 3, books are around even when a game isn't coming out. Now, the comic itself WILL lead into Halo, the first four issues anyway deal with Chief on the Forerunner ship as he fights his way through Covenant and is eventually captured.

The first four issues will also deal with a human couple. No one knows what happens after the first four issues, while dubbed a mini-series, Bungie and Marvel both confirmed it would continue in a monthly format, this is just the beginning.

The comic itself continues AFTER Halo is even out, so yeah, this isn't just about promotion, it's about developing the story and this rich universe.
