Growth System?

I remember a few weeks before I joined, there was news of something called 'Growth System' or something in one interview, and Nomura saying something like you can get new armor.

So can anyone point me to that article or something?

Nomura mentioned a growth system early on in the games development, and said that you could make an entire game out of the growth system. Fans theorised that the growth system may be something along the lines of gaining a peice of armour every time you level up, mainly because we had screens of VAT with only a bit of armour.

Nomura never mentioned this growth system again (at least not by that name). I personally believe he was talking about the command board.

Possibly, but seeing as the Command Board is actually a game in itself I'm lead to believe that's what he was talking about.

Well I'm sure he was, but like I said, it just makes me think of D-Links for some reason.

when he said that, i thought he was talking of how you won't level up and gain stats differently than the other games :v

I'm not saying that the growth system is D-Links, I'm just saying it's making me think of D-Links.

Actually D-links sounds sorta like that. Gaining armor? Well the pictures change once the D-link levels up, and more commands are added. So ya, why not?

Another aspect of the growth system that they hinted at was saying it was like "trees" or whatever.
This is referring to the Finish Commands and how, depending on what moves you use, open up new finish commands like a tree.
