Good and evil are nonexistant.

They are just some words made up. They don't really signify anything.

There are no "good" people, nor "bad". There are just people. Call them bad, but in the end, you are the same as them.

Here.
According to general definition amongst today's society of what is exactly good and beneficial to a human being, I think that getting sexually abused and murdered is defined as non-beneficial. Aside from the fact that it's against the law. So it's safe to say that murderers and rapists made decisions that can be defined 'bad' for their victims at the least.

i didn't mean going into law or anything. Just what are they, and how do we tell them apart

good and evil's definition depend of the person. what is seen as good for one person might be bad for another, for example the iraq people say that killing themselves for their leader is good, but i think killing yourself is bad, I think that the death penalty is bad, but other people think that its good. good and evil has no exact definition

There is no good or evil; only perception.

I perceive IslandPrincess as an idiot that can't use punctuation, therefore she is so, at least to me.

Hitler perceived himself as a liberator, therefore he was, to him at least. To his victims, (if they were alive) I'm sure that they perceived him as an A hole; therefore he was, at least to them.

So good could be defined as what is perceived as beneficial for the masses, while evil is something that a majority perceive as harmful.

Good and evil is in the eye of the beholder. For instance, Al Qaeda saw attacking the United States as a charge from Allah. The Americans saw it as a threat to democracy and freedom. The Crusades were started on this presumption. Good is sometimes condemned by men and sometimes evils are committed in the name of God. There is not real definition for good and evil. It is perspective. One more example- murder to kill an evil man. Is it good because you rid the world of one more 'evil', or is it bad because you committed murder.

One may never know.

One last example- The founding fathers of America: doing what was considered wrong in order to do what the knew was right. Again, right or wrong? One can only speculate.

This is a very deep subject. ^^;;

I think good and evil are in the eye of the beholder, like beauty. Your perception of them is based on your personal, or sometimes someone else's, morals. What may be evil to you could be good to someone else. And so on.

I wouldn't go as far as to say there is no such thing as good and evil. It's just different for everyone.~

Entirely depends on your opinion. A murdering psychopath doesn't find himself 'evil' yet the people do. However, people like to believe on a massive scale, so generalities of what is 'good' and 'evil' are accepted into society. Depending on the society, you get different 'good' and 'evil'.

Again, it is all about perception. Shouldn't have to repeat myself.

Good and evil are human constructs made to make sence of the world. It is all a matter of opinion.

There are things that people can agree are morally wrong, but even if an act is evil (which can be debated) there is no evil people.
