That place. The place with the thing.
Mickey's thumb doesn't even look like a thumb. It looks like he was an extra index finger coming out the side of his hand.

Kairi's nose wasn’t what I had in mind when I thought she looked off. I think… maybe her face is a bit more angular here?

Well, her head is angled slightly down towards her neck, since she’s unconscious. Maybe it’s just the angle of the shot

Manga update! Our next chapter will be on Gangan Online’s website on the 22nd. Looks like we're heading for the endgame(assuming Re:Mind isn't adapted at least).

Also, on a semi related note, in a tweet Amano stated that 4 titles they wanted to see in KH for a long time are Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Brother Bear and Emperor’s New Groove. This was in part a response to a tweet from Twitter user Azumoff_lchabod who recommended the movies, whom Amano retweeted.

And they were just as disappointed as we were finding out Treasure Planet was almost in KH3D but didn't make the cut.

I'd love an Emperor's New Groove world because I can already imagine the countless amount of jokes they could make. Of course the only downside is they'd have to recast Yzma (and Eartha Kitt was just so dang brilliant).

My friend and I were just talking about how awesome Treasure Planet could be for the next game, especially if they decide they're done with Pirates of the Caribbean worlds. It could be a great way to keep the pirate spirit of the world in there while doing something different, and getting a Treasure Planet world in KH4 with the same love and care that Pirates did in KH3 could be a secret blessing that we didn't get it in DDD.

So they are heading for the final battle with Xehanort? No ReMind content? Even the KH3 novel did the ReMind stuff (not very well, but that's for another time) I'm still very sad this KH3 manga wasn't the savior I thought it was going to be. At least I got one hateful/indifferent glare out of it all.

The Re:Mind stuff happened after the main game though, so whether or not this adaptation includes it remains to be seen. From what little I’ve seen(and I mean very little, I’ve only seen screenshots of Sora crying), the chapter seems to be just Sora picking himself back up to face Xehanort with Donald and Goofy by his side within Scala Ad Caelum. We probably haven’t even gotten into the battle itself yet, let alone the eventual trek Sora would go on to save Kairi.

Sorry to butt in, but does anyone know where I can actually read/purchase the manga? I've been meaning to start it for the longest time but I don't know where to start.

Ever since Yen Press lost the rights, your best bet is either finding physical copies at a bookstore that still holds 'em, people sellin' them online...or just goin' to a free manga reading site/app, stuff like Tachiyomi, MangaDex or Mangakakalot[the right one of course].

Of course if you go that route you're likely to read fan scans from the old days that get the job done.

As for KH3 in particular, don't get your hopes up on this end. None of em really get far.

Like Squood said, you’re likely going to have find them secondhand or search on sites like EBay or Amazon, since Yen Press lost the license a little after covering the Arrendale/Frozen arc in KH3.

However, if you’re in the UK/Ireland, Panini manga seems to have taken over the license, at least for KH3’s manga. There’s only one volume out right now from them, and no word yet on when they’ll release future volumes or if they’ll also release the other KH manga.

Okay, new chapter’s on the Gangan website, and it’s about what I expected: After the X-Blade’s forged, we get this shot in a neat double page spread:

IMG_1881.jpeg
Looks like Amano chose to base this either on pre-Re:Mind footage or mix both versions together. And we see shots of Sora crying Ghibli/anime tears, which is understandable given what happened. Donald bringing him a tissue was a nice touch to add to the ongoing parent angle for him and Goofy in the fandom😁

The rest of the chapter plays out as expected, the gangs all group together, make a plan, and Sora volunteers to keep Xehanort busy while everyone else keeps Kingdom Hearts shut. The SDG trio head out, but not before Xion reassures Sora that Kairi will be okay, because she can feel it in her heart(I think that’s what she’s saying in that second part? The sentence is “ 心を—感じるから” but I don’t know if the heart[心] in question is Kairi’s, Xion’s or Sora’s).

And once they’re in Scala ad Caelum, we don’t get the fight against the 13 hooded selves. Xehanort starts using the X-Blade to manipulate the world around the trio, and the chapter ends with our heroes in free fall, as the sky turns dark and Kingdom Hearts looms overhead. Looks like next chapter will be where we truly know if they decide to cover Re:Mind material or not.

Considering the Xehareplicas have been axed along with the Final World, Lingering Will, the first Graveyard attempt that ended up being part of what Sora needed to get to Kairi...I believe it's safe to say ReMind ain't really gonna be a thing here.

Not to mention most of ReMind's pre-Limit Cut plot hinges on going through the Graveyard again so if Amano WERE to try and adapt it, it would probably be the portion after Nort Court.

Pretty much none of the stuff ReMind needs is here.

Limit Cut and Yozora, if adapted, would no doubt just be the dialogue cuz of the manga's avoidance of battles.

So my prediction for the next chapter will very likely be Xehanort just doing the beam then droppin dead and the ending plays out as normal

It's kinda ironic considering Kingdom Hearts has a bit of battle shonen DNA.
Amano's always avoided battles but not to this degree.

When it came to fights with degrees of importance, he usually let them play out somewhat even if shortened. Hell he even just straight up made Sora v. Riku[Ansem Form] a semi-legit battle set in TWTNW

But with KH3 it's practically been battle-phobic where they're either made extremely short and basic or just removed entirely.

It's crazy how this monthly manga with delays feels like Amano's on an extreme deadline and only has four days out of a week to finish a chapter whereas even the CoM manga felt more well-handled.
