I must say, I gotta give Amano-San major props for still continuing to turn in excellent artwork in spite of everything. If I were in his position, my heart just wouldn't be in it anymore.

Ehhhh...the stuff he posts on Twitter is good but the art in the KH3 manga itself has kinda gotten...less than stellar. Not BAD but...not exactly great either. Like everything else it was way better in the previous manga while now it doesn't exactly...feel the same. Like his heart actually isn't in it that much but still enough to get it done.

Got any words to describe the art? I think I have noticed something like that from what few pages I've read.
Ehh, I haven't actually seen anything beyond the thumbnail previews, I'll admit. Got any examples to share?

I think I'm gonna start trying to buy the novels at least one per pay check (at least for the pricey ones, two if they cost a normal amount). I don't want to wait too long and then they skyrocket in price at some point, because I genuinely want to own and read these.
I want to start grabbing the manga again also. I wish I still had my old Tokyopop set, but when it looked like the manga wasn't going to ever be completed in English because "Tokyopop" (iykyk), I got mad and sold them all lol. So I have to restart grabbing those from scratch. But I think I'd rather focus on the novels first, then the manga.

Dang, I actually called it. They showed up late, but Donald and Goofy did go to help Mickey with the other Organization members.
Anywho, we get some more highlight reel fights, with a neat panel of Young Xehanort disappearing. The look on his face as he says goodbye to Sora just works. But then we get to… Kairi getting slashed. I knew this was coming, it had to happen, and I hate to say this, but I was a bit let down here.
Master Xehanort is drawn well, and very intimidating, and the chapter ending on the cliffhanger of all 13 keys gathered beneath Kingdom Hearts is a great choice. but the page that showed him striking Kairi down…. it felt very flat. Especially in the panelling. Sora should have been running the moment he saw her. But the panelling implied a “Goku begging Frieza not to kill Krillin” moment, and then the running. It was certainly a choice.
Everything else was at a good standard, just needed a bit more meat on the bones, so to speak.

I'll say again, it just feels like Amano is just putting the bare minimum of effort into the execution. Almost like me when I feel too bored.
As for Kairi....people gas up how he made Kairi SAY stuff when being kidnapped while also ignoring how within the manga's context, she was practically picked up of the ground like a doll[since there isn't even an implication that she stood back up on her own, hell you might as well assume she's unconscious here before getting lifted] and still didn't fucking try to escape. And then her death is more flaccid. This isn't friggin' Manga KH2 Kairi, this is Budget KH3 Kairi who doesn't even have a hint of the "Namine should live" thing either. Hell, Namine might as well not exist since it took until Repliku's death for her fucking name to even be uttered once.
Kairi in this manga, in comparison to literally every other Kairi in general, is the worst version no doubt. Even less screentime, a worse kidnapping with a flimsy band-aid, a worse death, her biggest contribution to the game removed, etc. And yet people act like she's better cuz "Generic Girlfriend Damsel Who Shouldn't Say Help Me" dialogue.

I still think it's not a great move to assume Amano is just phoning it in when this is a horrible time around the world for artists and he clarified that it wasn't his call to cut so much when asked about the skipped worlds. That kind of mindset is needlessly hostile.
it's funny to me that kh3 was universally panned as having 'the worst disney filler in the series', but the Manga omitting half of the worlds has created more issues than it would for any other game
I'm curious now. I wish I could see pages from these new chapters without having to jump through hoops to bypass a legion lock.

Well, the Gangan Online website isn’t region locked as far as I know, I think it’s just the mobile app. Though it only shows the first and latest chapters, the website’s been how I’m looking at them.

Hmm… the art is still competent, but… ehhhh, yeah it's not perfect.

Y'know, it occurred to me that it's not uncommon for manga artists to go back and redo certain bits of art for the eventual compilation releases. Hopefully, Amano-San will do that.

I’m curious, what needs tweaking on panels 2 and 3? The first one I understand, though even I have trouble keeping the guard size consistent when drawing the Kingdom Key
Kairi's nose is botched pretty bad and Mickey's thumb is elongated and strange
I think his entire hand and arm look really deformed, but the thumb is the most noticeable part.

By botched, you mean not showing the nose line? It’s certainly a choice, but I wouldn’t call it a botch.
If it was drawn in, it’d probably be something like this
Obviously not drawn in blue, but that’s probably where it would be.
EDIT: Also, Mickey’s thumb is fine, it’s just his fingers look like they’re halfway through curling into a fist, while his thumb hasn’t moved. Though I do admit his arm is a bit on the thicker side than usual in this panel.
