Gauging interest, an Assassin's Creed rp?

I have an idea that everyone who joins would be a member of the Assassin Brotherhood established by Ezio in AC Brotherhood. Or Revelations, if Turkey sounds like a better setting than Rome.

We'd get contracts to assassinate, progress through a system to become Master Assassins, and live as badasses in the setting of our choosing. The plot could be related to the games, such as fighting for Pieces of Eden, or it could be something as simple as preventing Templar takeover. And, of course, our missions would take us on adventures across seas and countries and we could tie in a lot of history, like meeting famous kings, allying with prominent explorers, etc, as well as attend some famous historical events.

I'm really excited for this inkling of an idea, and I'd like to hear what the RPers here have to say; if you're interested, if you have some ideas about plot or setting, if you think it's dumb... I want it all. Please and thank you

im actually playing through the entire trilogy and i was considering this idea as well, though i need to learn just a little more about the world and make up before putting down some solid ideas (on 3rd segement of brotherhood, finished AC II).

It's actually one of my favorite game series, Ubisoft does a great job of developing the settings. The Ezio Trilogy is probably the best example of that ^^ Glad to hear you're interested!

I'm actually doing the exact same thing in preparation for Black Flag. I'm currently on Sequence 8 in Brotherhood.

That said, while I would love to see an AC roleplay, it would require a great deal of work to get it right. First, I would suggest forging a completely new story, rather than piggybacking off of Ezio's. I would try for something unexpected that, at the same time, could work.

I recall in on of Subject 16's puzzles, there was a letter that seemed to imply that Henry Ford sent the Apple of Eden to Hitler to start WWII.

Also, in another of Subject 16's puzzles, it states Rasputin stole a Piece of Eden from Nicholas II, and without it, Nicholas could no longer control the people and the Russian Revolution ensued.

I think a story set during either time could prove interesting, withe the former being easier and the latter, which Ubisoft could very well make into one of the games, would prove to be a far better story. However, regardless of where and when you set the story, it will require a great deal of preparation and historical research to make it good.

I haven't played any of the Assassin Creed games, for some reason I'm finding the idea of playing some dude who's about to be assassinated to sound kind of fun.

Well I've been doing lots of reading, and I've come up with some ideas.

It's said that a piece of Eden, a sword, was wielded by King Arthur. Medieval Britain might be a fun setting, and the Saxons would be good Templars. Another piece of Eden is said to be located in Beijing, China. This could be a result of the 13th century assassin Li Tong and her fight against the Yongle Emperor, a Templar. Or, there is Nikola Tesla and Rasputin and Alexander the 2nd in Russia, setting the stage for the Russian Revolution.

Anyone interested in any of these?

Somewhat interested, but would prefer with a new story, rather than trying to "piggyback," as Omnoms said. Though, just about any significant event(s) in history could more or less be connected to the Pieces/Apples of Eden, FYI.

This...sounds really awesome. I Really need to finish Brotherhood and play Revelations, I made the stupid decision of playing and completing ACIII before doing so...I never thought you'd miss so much between a II and III -_-

As for Setting/Events, I really like the Medieval and Russian Revolution idea. Couple of other ideas that floated around in this messy head of mine: Wild West (AC + RDR =???), Modern Day? Maybe even involving 9/11?

Ah, I considered a wild west idea, vigilantes vs bandits style after a piece of Eden is discovered during the Gold Rush. That also has potential. And your idea involving 9/11 is titillating, but I personally don't think I could put something together very well.

I'm fleshing out ideas for a Russian Revolution rp, which is much harder than I anticipated. Assassins would be aligned with a semi-terrorist group, the Narodnaya Volya, and the Bolsheviks. They are trying to overthrow the Templars, who control the Imperial family and are aligned with the Mensheviks. This is occurring in Russia circa 1916, as the seeds of revolution are being sewn. The main antagonist will most likely be Rasputin.

What do you think? And would you be interested in playing both the Assassin and Templar side?

That sounds like a better idea. Gives more building to be Assassins. Wild West is too open for Assassins. I'd be interested.
