During that livestream they showed great disrespect to the series, which is fine, but then when you start openly treating all the viewers as poorly as they did, things as a whole tend to take a turn for the worst.

They've made a few SE/KH-related videos since then, and while they're still a little grating, they aren't as obviously insulting as that.

I don't really watch GameTrailers' content very often, but what I have seen hasn't been THAT impressive. Their Zelda timeline was filled with inaccuracies, even barring the fact that it preceded the Hyrule Historia (aside the snag of the third branch, fans had more or less figured most of it out). Their Dark Souls 2 video about what the game didn't need was actually surprisingly spot-on; it was a pretty easy set of conclusions you'd reach by asking any Souls fan what they actually value and expect, but given how content from these big news outlets tends to be...questionable, it was a nice surprise.

Ugh, after reading these two comments I don't think I will even watch it.

The way I look at it, (and I'm sorry if I'm disrespecting anyone here.) if someone isn't obsessed with KH, like if literally the franchise isn't their most favorite and it's not leagues and miles more important to them than every other game, then honestly they don't know anything about the game. Yeah sure they can ask questions about the little plot bits and stuff like "what is Namine" and stuff but not something like "What is the relation between Sora and Ventus" or even worse...."Why is Roxas in BBS."

When I read the comments on the Gametrailers video about stuff like "Awesome! I won't have to play the side games and I will be ready for KH3" or "Damn! I thought it was a KH3 announcement" (Whoa SERIOUSLY??) or "I want KH3 and not KH side story 5" I wanted to post something but then I realized that there's no point. They won't learn anything from the comment or even from the video.

Also people saying that they waited so long for something like this while replaying KH1 and 2 a 100 times. Trust me, they would already know the story in and out if they were so impatient or couldn't buy the handhelds. This is what makes me mad the most, calling themselves KH fans when they are not.

Eh, there's a middle ground here. KH doesn't have to be someone's favorite franchise for them to know most of what's going on. It's certainly outright false to say that they wouldn't know anything at all. KH has never been my favorite franchise and it certainly isn't now, but I know most of everything that happened at least until KH3D. You just have to care enough that you'd visit YT/read wiki's.

A fan is a fan, they are just misinformed/misguided. Getting into what a "real fan" is is meaningless.

In general, comments on big hubs like GameTrailers, Youtube, IGN, and what have you are cesspits of misinformation and dumb arguments. You'd be better off just not reading them

I did lil helping with proofreading the script a while ago. And for what I saw it certainly will be more aimed at mainstream audience than total hardcore KH fans and that is understandable. The script can only be so long and it is hard to balance between what to explain in detail and what to ignore. Should be a fun watch nontheless .

Everyone was trying to help them answer questions on Twitter so they could at least appear to know what they were talking about, and they just replied with things like "Must be easy when you have access to the internet and reading the wiki."

Yeah, that was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It was insulting to fans who knew the information just because they kept up with the series and just knew.
