I downloaded the font "Dark 11", extracted ut and put it in my fonts folder (C:\WINDOWS\Fonts) and when I checked it on Word it just came up as Arial... Help!

Your comp probley can't read the font format that its in inorder to install it properly.
Most fonts downloaded are initially in a zip file...you'll need to extract them first...
I extracted it as a Compressed (zipped) file. I found out it works on MSN and Photoshop but...er not Microsoft Word for some reason.

For a FREE alternative to Microsoft's 'Office' series (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc..) checkout OpenOffice, a very powerful and free software.

You can get openoffice for either Windows OR Unix/Linux.
(I think there may also be a Mac install of it.. but I don't remember.)
Anyways, it's just as good as Microsoft's software, if not better.
Plus, you don't have to pay anything for it.
(Although you can contribute with a donation, if you feel 'nice'. ^.^)
It encourages opensource developers to keep creating free software for the community..
Which is a very good thing!
