The mechanical sound of an alarm clock brought him out of his weary slumber as the sun shined though the velvet curtains of his bedroom, illuminating the darkness in the corners and a soft golden light penetrated the room. Rikken sat up out of his bed, his usually neat hair in a mess, he sluggishly climbed out of bed and headed for the shower, hopefully this would wake him up. The cool water hitting his soft ripped chest was soothing to his mind and was mildly relaxing, although the coldness stopped him from dozing off again. He wrapped a towel around his waist and went about his daily early morning routine. That being a breakfast meal, consisting of a thin stew made of lentils and six kinds of rice. He didn’t like eating it, but it was better than the alternative fatty foods that the fast food shops sold next door to him. He found it distasteful and stale. He had a few profiles to review once he got to headquarters. A few new recruits that needed to be initiated today, he hoped that they proved interesting than the last lot and that maybe he could put someone under his wing and train them.
He threw his clothes on and walked outside closing and locking the door behind him. He drew a cigarette out of his pocket and placed it on his lip before igniting the end with a lighter. Smoke floated forth from the end and into the light blue sky. He set off, His feet making a rhythm with the concrete sidewalk. People were driving past in cars, busy in their own little worlds, with no concern for others inhabiting a meagre existence in this city. Others were jostling on the sidewalk in a hurry, moving to their places of work, nothing that concerned Rikken at the moment, nor would it concern him in the future.
A magnificent red and blue building that was several stories high stood at his feet. A set of blue steps led upwards to a pair of red doors. The building was mostly glass in construction with blue trims around the windows that ran up the side of it and finished with a large pyramid shaped top with various antennas’ sticking up like pikes, seeming to stretch upwards forever. Inside, people were milling about riding lifts and talking to each other excitedly about non-important matters.
A large rectangular-shaped room with a round highly polished marble surface reception desk in the middle greeted him. Which behind the desk, he saw two young women were standing and helping several people at once by pointing them to their prospective customer’s destinations. Rikken’s eyes sharply and quickly darted around the room before moving to an unoccupied lift which began to ascend as soon as he stepped inside of it. He pressed a small red button and the lift stopped on the appropriate floor. He moved past the doors and walked to the Briefing room.
OOC: OK guys... make sure you all come to the briefing room.
