Hey guys! I'm back to writing again! I've been practicing quite a lot, and I cooked this up for some friends of mine and just an overall desire to novelize the amazing story held within these short games.
The protagonists are how I imagine them and the antagonists are going to be enhanced versions of their own personalities to give them a bit more of a life-like quality. But not too much! I want to keep the feeling of the games as intact as possible for you to enjoy it as it was intended.
Disclaimer: Five Nights at Freddy's (FNaF) is an indie point and click horror game made by developer Scott Cawthon. His voice was used in recording the clips of Phone Guy, and I will be using the specific words that he says during the start of each night. I don't own it!

I walked up to the front door, the sound of screaming and frenzied children emitting from every brick of the old building. My hand hovered over the golden knob for a time. At first I was even hesitant about entering, and I now regret not having turned around and walked the few blocks back to my house at whatever speeds I could muster. But no one can turn back the clock, and I grasped the old doorknob to the rear employee entrance with a click and the scuffing sound that normally accompanies a poorly-set wooden frame.
As I entered, I was greeted by the overwhelming smell of pizza and a cacophony of children bustling about playing in the arcade and just generally running amuck and causing a mess of chaos. I sidestepped a few on my way to the security office across the way; black and white checkered patterns adorning the lower half of the walls and floor. Perhaps they were meant to appear high-class or simply to distract from the mess. Whatever the case, I pressed the admittance button on the wall and swiped my tag, trying to avoid looking at my new job site. Maybe I'd feel better about being stationed here overnight rather than during the day. At least I wouldn't have to worry about the kids.
A buzzer sounded and the steel door shot upwards into its housing in the ceiling. I could see in the windows - not particularly well since they needed a cleaning - but I had not seen a person inside. I walked on in casually, adjusting my tie. I guess I was trying to go for a professional look for this job since I had been so desperate to acquire one. It may not have been my first choice, but the pickings were slim and once I made enough I'd be out of here as soon as I could be transferred to another public place. Owning a home in the city was tough on my wallet, especially after she'd gone and left me to handle it on my own. Then I'd gotten cut when the company downsized...
"Hello, hello!" A cheerful voice cut through my thoughts. I turned around sharply, not seeing anyone in the small room. Monitors adorned the wall to my left, and a desk with a metal fan sat plainly to see on the right side in the center. No place for a person to be hiding, here. I walked over to the desk, feeling foolish for being startled as I spied the phone on the counter. My guide had somehow rigged it to begin playback of a message once I'd entered the room. He was a somewhat enigmatic man, and I'd never gotten the chance to meet him face-to-face. But judging by the setup and my exchanges with him, I'd say he was masterful with manipulating electronics and hardware. Those were quite the well-sought-after skills in this day and age. Why he would choose to work here was beyond me.
"I see you made it to the office! Kids give you any trouble? Anyway: I'm sorry I couldn't be here today...Had some- You know- Some things I had to get around to doing. I'll have a brief run-down of your job prepared in a message like this one tonight. For now, just feel free to familiarize yourself with the place and the equipment! The personal monitor is here on the desk, and the phone will start up automatically."
I grunted. I was supposed to watch after their three star animatronics at night. Make sure they didn't wander into a wall or something. I guess hiring a security guard was cheaper than getting the darn things fixed. I sifted through the papers on the table, but not many meant much to me. Things like 'Bonnie likes the left' and 'Don't forget to watch Freddy' were scrawled on some. My manager kept talking.
"It's all right if you don't pick it all up on night one. They're a bit slower after the long weekends, so Mondays are their quiet nights. Looking forward to hearing from you after your first night!" And he hung up.
On my way out, I saw a large brown animatronic holding out a cake and dropping it off robotically at a nearby table. The kids crowded around it and touched it and cheered, chanting the name "Freddy" over and over. It turned its head towards me in a stiff motion, catching my eye. I suppose this was the resident bear mascot, Freddy. His ears swiveled back and forth and he lifted an arm to wave at me, kids squealing happily. I didn't wave back. The thing wasn't real, and I was never one to personify things like that. It may have looked my way and greeted me, but it was just a robot. I turned away and headed for the door. If I had it in me to believe all that childish stuff, I might've said that I felt its gaze following me all the way out the exit. But I don't.
I don't believe in childish things.
