My brother bought me Final Mix for my birthday and I live in America. He also bought me the slide card combo to play it on my PS2 but it's impossible to use. Does anyone know anything easier to buy so I can play it on my American PS2? Someone mentioned a Region free disk for it but I can't find it. Does this exist and where can I find the items I need? Will there be something for PS3 to be able to play import games, because I plan I getting a PS3 or can it standardly play imports??

In the UK you can get your PS2 fitted with something known as a "chip". You would say you're gettign your PS2 "chipped".

It is illegal, but most people know somewhere to get it done. The chip allows you to play imported games.

I'm considering having my PS2 chipped, I know a shop not far from me that does it. If you find a small, non-mainstream games shop - a small business type shop - then they might be able to do it.

Be careful though, if they aren't very good at doing it - it can cause the laser in the PS2 to burn out.

A friend of mine knows soemone who does it - but they're not very good at it. This small shop is known for being quite good at it though.

I know that's no good to you, being in the USA - but I'm sure you can find someone around if you ask the right people.

mine is chipped and here its not illegal as long as you buy the original for the real price and not a burned 1
