Re: Final Fantasy IX - "This is an age-old ritual between friends!"

If this is the case I'm surprised they didn't do this for ffvii
Maybe they didn't bother because they could fix it in the Remake while preserving the older script for the older game?

I wonder if the alleged revised translation will make the references to the older games more clear.

Re: Final Fantasy IX - "This is an age-old ritual between friends!"

I'm low key convinced they didn't alter translation on the FFVII port just because there would be the fans who eitehr didn't know ti was more accurate and would complain about SE "ruining their game," or those who knew it was inaccurate and preferred and it would still complain. Though, the Remake no doubt will probably be properly translated.

On the subject of IX Steam, though, it's nice to know the version I will finally play will be the most accurate. I'm so excited for this game to drop, whenever that is. Have it chilling currently on my wishlist, waiting for news of the release date.

I wonder how it feels being played on the Android phones. Hope there wasn't anything being cut off. Didn't bother getting DQ8 for that same notion.

I was about to say, it's out for mobile devices, but I think I've been beaten XD...

Anyway not going to get this, waiting on the Steam version. My poor phone doesn't have that much space, and this was a multi-CD game, so I assume it's huge. (Saving a spot for Unchained Chi there.)

Also for those that like their Vivi stuffed: Vivi Plush available for preorder. Too rich for my blood but thought someone might want to know.

As someone new to FFVII (playing it right now for the Marathon), I feel like the thing I want most from the game is an updated translation to fix the mistakes. :/ I'm glad FFIX is getting one. I'm personally going to clear FFVII as-is for the sake of achievements but once it's done I'm installing Reunion/Beacause or some other translation mod on the spot.

I'm crying because I'm broke but I'm still considering it. I need all of the FFIX merch that goes for under $80...

If you HATE HATE doing it on mobile, FINALLY! It's out on Steam.

They're having it at a discount, too. Gogogogo!

I want this badly, but I don't have the money atm. I'm not into mobile versions either. ;_;

I'll prolly get it in a couple weeks if the sale's still on. Love this game and this'll be the first time I'll be able to own my own copy. But yes, steam/pc forevah. ^^

I'm kind of shocked it's so pricey. It's more than the VII and VIII HD Steam ports. Probably will have to wait until the end of the month before I can purchase it, sadly </3

Dunno what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to find any game booster but max. AP, max. Gil and max. EXP.

You really don't need anything else. Surprised there isn't a Trance Booster.

/cries happily

Miyasha (a old FFXI friend) noticed what was on my wish list (This game, actually) and gifted me the game. I"ll be joining you guys tho I prolly won't be using any of the boosters, I'll be playing it straight. ^^

There IS a trance booster.
Anyways I found all the boosters. They work by pressing LB, LT etc while pausing the game. I just had to figure out which keys that are on my keyboard.
The available boosters are max. Gil, max. Level/stones, max. Abilities, Speed, permanent 9999 damage, no encounter, and permanent trance.
Although(!) the permanent trance booster also allows you to attack permanently without charging the ATB gauge and heals your character after every hit. Soooo...as long as you don't get one hit killed, you're practically immortal even on level 1.

I might use the trance booster from time to time simply because I want Quina's bluemagic spells and that's way easier when he's in trance...and the speed booster is golden for me, too.

Final Fantasy IX: Gameshark Edition

I really like No Encounters and Fast-Forward though. FF8 had No Encounters as a GF ability and Chrono Cross had a fast-forward(and a slow-down!) if you beat the game. There are only so many times one can see an obnoxiously long attack animation before one wants to design an efficient method for brewing coffee while it plays.

Re: Final Fantasy IX - "This is an age-old ritual between friends!"

So can someone provide a list of what the differences in gameplay and game design between PS1 and Steam. I already own the PS1 (Greatest Hits) version, which I still enjoy very much and replay often, and I am thinking of purchasing a PC steam version, but I don't want to buy a game I already own. Other than improved graphics and different controls system, is there anything new in the steam version has to offer. Any new content?
