Any Fans wanna dicuss this game? I just started playing it again, I never beat it, got owned, and stop playing. Now I want to go own Kefka.

And my Celes can't use Runic for some odd ass reason, any ideas?

Oh and, Sabin + Genji Glove = OWN3D.

On the thread name, it's 3 in America and 6 in Japan.

And well, this is my favourite Final Fantasy after the ninth. It's a real shame they don't these great kinds of games anymore.

Every little aspect of the game is awesome.

Now I want to go replay it to...

It's 6 in North America. The release of Final Fantasy Anthology set that straight.

From what I played, it was an awesome game. I only got to the part where Terra transforms and flies off... somewhere. Never quite had time for it, and now's not any better.

Well, it still isn't 3 in Japan. And I was talking about the SNES release.

Of course, just bringing up the fact.

So, I tried playing again last night, just for the hell of it. I have no idea what place I'm in, but it's like a ghost town. Pretty freaky. Not to mention that all the monsters kick my ass...

Oh. Good.

Ghost Town? Only place I remember in FF6 with ghosts is the Ghost Train... I might be wrong, though.

I recently played through the Opera sequence, and what can I say? I'm still stunned by the beauty of the sequence.

I always grin a little when Setzer makes his dramatic entrance.

I called it a ghost town because it's really run down, and nobody actually lives there.

I've heard the Opera sequence is one of the best in any Final Fantasy.

Yeah...it's one of my favorite Final Fantasies. Some people would bitch about it being melodramatic, but they're pretty much retarded.

The Opera scene was incredible back in the day simple because it was a technological and directorial feat. The sound really made the moment. This was back before games were on a disc medium, so there were rarely voices and the music was in MIDI format. Most gamers today would probably cast it aside, because of techonogical advances.

Me either, I quit playing it on the part where you had to find and fight these dragons. This game is one of the hardest RPGs I've ever played. I hope the remake of it on the GBA is easier.

You weren't required to vanquish all the dragons. They are unnecessary for the primary quest. I've never bothered to find the all the dragons, because I wanted to move onto other RPGs I "acquired' at the time (FFIV, V, and Chrono Trigger). I'm willing to wager that the reward is the Bahamut magicite, considering he's the dragon king.

Final Fantasy VI was difficult? I thought it was fairly easy compared to the previous installments. It's quite possible to do low-level run through it, because stats don't increase with levels (only HP and MP, and not by too much) nor do the enemies', at least not without magicite level bonuses. Magic will be your biggest asset. Later on you get awesome spells and MP cost halving/elminating relics. I did have a few melee characters, like Cyan, Sabin, Mog (more like an awesome Red Mage with Jump), and Umaro. To be honest, I rarely used Esper summons, I think I used Unicorn and some defense buffering ones, but that's it. If you get Gogo, then you can really pack on the damage. Nothing says "ownage" like a super-powerful Ultima mimicked followed by Bum Rush and a nasty shuriken.

For beating the dragons, you get the Crusader Esper. You get the bahamut esper for defeating doom gaze, and holy crap hes annoying. I just beat him for the esper.

What about Gem Box + Ultima followed by mimic?
Or Offering + Genji Glove + Mimic?

I'm trying to get the Paladin Shield I think its called, where you have to go into 255 battles with a Cursed Shield.

My complete line of owners would have to be Celes, Edgar, Sabin, and Cyan.
They each know Ultima, Life 1-3, Cure 1-3, Quick, Fire 1-3, Ice 1-3, Bolt 1-3, Vanish, X-Zone, and a whole bunch of other crap.

Gogo isn't one of my complete owners yet because I haven't used him. I'm trying to train everyone to level 45 and its not his turn yet. >_>

Oh yes...that's right. I remember chasing down Doom Gaze. I missed Crusader, though. I gave up looking for the remaining two dragons.

It was only one example. There are a many sorts of combinations.

I never bothered with that. As soon as I could dual-wield or two-hand, I gave up the shield slot.

Oh, and Vanish+(insert instant death spell) was just lame.

EDIT: Upon opening my savefile in ZSNES, I discovered that I have in fact obtained Crusader. I didn't bother getting Raiden, though, because I definitely didn't want to give up Odin's speed bonus.
