He's a really talented director of anime films and he has his own anime series, Paranoia Agent, as well.

All of his works, including his new fifth film "The Dream Machine", have been made by Studio Madhouse (MADHOUSE Ltd.) where he is one of the staff directors there.

My personal favorites have been Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika, the animation and story is amazing. But that really goes for all of his films too.

Perfect Blue has been the only one I couldn't find an english trailer for on Youtube, so sorry about that. ;

Perfect Blue was a good thriller,
but everything else i personally wasn't
interested, because his movies are over
the top eccentric to my comfort level.
The art is amazing, but when i watched
Paranoia Agent, and so forth, i would
just sit there and think "man, what is this
dude smokin?" And i remember downloading
Millenia Actress, and watching the movie
seemed good but then i was a little disturbed
toward the interviewers obsession of the
old woman, and then when they were getting
mixed into her stories I started having trouble
dividing the fantasy from reality, and even then
she was either describing her life, or a scene from
a movie while being unaware as a viewer. I
couldn't cope with it because his movies just aren't
of good taste to me. At least the style is recognizable.

perfect blue is kind of funny in a twisted way

tokyo godfathers is ballin

but paprika's ending made no sense even though the detective's little story was fuckawesome

I've seen Millennium Actress and Paprika. I enjoyed both, but I'll have to see Paprika's ending again to see whether or not I agree with Square.

I absolutely love Millennium Actress. The fact that its blending of memory and story (if those are truly separate to begin with) can bewilder hardened anime watchers, who are accustomed to suspending disbelief for some of the most remarkable absurdities in the genre, just makes it that much better for me.

I also enjoy the music for all films of his I've seen thus far.

I've seen Millennium Actress and Paprika. I enjoyed both, but I'll have to see Paprika's ending again to see whether or not I agree with Square.

It's just how they get rid of the big bad guy. It just makes no sense, even if with the surrealism. It's just like she went "I am hungry *slluuuuurp*."

I've only seen one Satoshi Kon film so far, and that'd be Paprika. It's a fun movie, but I'll have to agree about its conclusion. A rewatch of it has been on my mind for some time now, since it's been about a year since I've seen it.
